Solid place for a night of fun. Came here on a Saturday night. There was a $5 charge for females and a $20 cover for males ( sorry guys!) The atmosphere here is pretty chill. The actually set up of the place is a bit small but they do have outdoor seating and entertainment for the warmer months which is a good thing. I didn't have any of the food but I did have a drink or two. The drinks were fairly good and enough alcohol to know you got your moneys worth which is always a definite plus. They also have really good frozen drinks that I would recommend. All in all, I think if you're looking for a nice spot for a variety of music then the Lobby certainly doesn't disappoint. I came here on a whim with my best friend. She lives in NJ and found this place to be pretty cool since they offer free dance classes on Wednesday nights. I just came back from there actually. I learned some beginner steps for Kizomba, Bachata, and Salsa. I've taken bachata and salsa lessons before so it wasn't that bad. The instructor's style was mostly partner work. You danced switching partners for most of the time. The people there were fairly nice - I wish people were just friendly and smiled more. It last from 7:30-9 pm on the second floor and then you have the choice to go home or go to the 1st floor where there's a DJ, a bar, and a dancefloor. Something that kind of rubbed me the wrong way was the instructor. So I decided to stick around to practice my salsa on the 1st floor. I decided to ask the instructor if he can dance with me so I can learn the cross body lead turn really fast. I just wanted to make sure I had it down pact - I'm actually trying out for a team on Sunday. I've been practicing for weeks even at my jobs bathroom lol. He was really rude and just abrasive and told me no. I understand it's not his work hours anymore but I don't know I would've hoped an instructor would've been more than willing to help or at least have some sort of etiquette that he couldn't. His tone and his demeanor was really unprofessional I would say. Bottomline: I definitely think it's cool that The Lobby offers free lessons. Instead of being told there was a cover, the ladies at the entrance asked if we wanted a table. And this is when I realized that this isn't really a club or lounge. It's a super fancy Applebees with a DJ. A very talented DJ. There is no dancing. There's no room for it. But there is a DJ. Playing music. That would entice you to dance. We said no to the table thinking we'd be able to just wander about while the music played or sit on a couch or something. As Kevin Spacey once said...WRONG!!!!!!!!!! We kinda just stood near the entrance. Looking around. There was no room at the bar...we didn't really come to drink and drink and drink. And if we had, there would have been nowhere to take our drinks with us. Standing at the bar would've been weird and there were no free pool tables. To sum it all up, we stood there for like ten minutes and then left. One thing that was interesting though was that a woman fell out of her high chair and no one said anything. Came here for the nightlife with my boyfriend and friends and wow it did not disappoint! The music was amazing playing different genres such as hip hop, Spanish music, edm etc. The place is huge on the inside and has 2 different settings. In the front where they play bachata, salsa merengue and in the back where they play reggaeton, edm, and hip hop so you get the best of both worlds. Dress to impress because they do have dress codes and an entrance fee. The drinks are fairly priced but they're delicious. CONS 1. On June 15, 2020, I wanted to try a new restaurant with Outdoor Seating. At 7pm, I entered the restaurant and a Short Silver Haired Hispanic in his 50's with a Red Polo Shirt (MOD) informs me that I need to take off my Black Durag to Dine, which I didn't want my Freshly Washed Hair to be hit with Highway Dust and Mini Debris scattered in the Air. I asked him why and he said that it was the "Dining Rules". I pointed out that there was "Diners" wearing Non Formal Attire such as Baseball Caps, Jeans, Sneakers and Boots. He informed me in Spanish that it has been one of the rules since the beginning to "Dine". I informed him in Spanish that specific "DINING" rules need to be Advertised on Social Media so everyone can be Prepared or have it Obnoxiously Posted outside prior to entering the restaurant. Thank goodness one of my friends lended me a Baseball Cap which made me more Upset/Confused as to why a Baseball Cap was "OK" to wear yet a Durag was not. "The Bottle Special" was supposed to be $125 before 11. Not the case when we got there a little before 11 and bye the time they have you in a Cattle Line to PAY ( Yes you pay a cover with Bottle service) and then they locate an area for you it was a little after 11 we were seated. So now the price is $150/$180 (before tax and tip) . Now that would not have been a Big deal had such an inconvenient deposit not been made on what was supposed to be the special . * By the way they have a huge upstairs lounge now that's where they have tons of VIP tables. *The service - Our table server was seemingly nice at moments but mostly she was passive aggressive . Before we could get settled she kept stressing that in order to get an adjacent couch we had to buy 2 more bottles (OK LADY)!! Large groups can be a pain in the Butt I get that, but I don't think the personal attention was there, Mostly because they were doing mass table service . I would like to start off with saying that I really really wanted to like this place, I really did. My review is purely based on my bar experience and not the establishment as a whole. I want to make sure that part is clear. So upon arriving on a Sunday (last Sunday), my girls and I were told that there is a $25 per person minimum spend to sit at a table. My drink was $11 according to the menu, once the drink came the bartender said it was $12. I then asked about the price because the menu said $11. Again it's not a big deal since it's only a dollar but the reaction from the bartender was unacceptable. She hastily grabbed a menu and slapped it on the bar in an almost cartoonish manner in front of me. Rolled her eyes, huffed and walked away. My three friends looked at her and then looked at me. They were in shock! Totally uncalled for. Yes, the menu did in fact say $11 of course so I was right but that was besides the point.
