From the start I could tell they were suggesting I go for the large loan that carries an 8.25% interest. When I insisted on the smaller, less interest loan they started with reasons not to make the loan. First they said I had to payoff some credit card debt. Then they said I didn't have enough income. I sent them copies of my tax return showing I reported $101,000 gross income the previous year. They responded by saying that since I amended my tax return they couldn't make the loan. The return was original and not amended. I contacted Lineage Lending and completed my reverse mortgage without a single problem. No mention of credit card debt or income. They were a pleasure to work with.

I let him know that I didn't have any knowledge of how the house-buying process works, but he was incredibly supportive and assured me he would walk me through every step.
