I finally had the opportunity to dine here with my wife and friends. What an amazing atmosphere, this restaurant is huge and beautiful. It's directly connected to both iPlay America and TopGolf Virtual so the location is perfect for a night out with family or friends or simply a date night. Our food was delicious, I had the caccio e Pepe which is one of my favs and they were on point. The deserts were amazing although I was full the rest of my table were not and had positive feedback. Drinks were top notch, I really enjoyed the spiced pear drink, even though it's listed as a sour thankfully it wasn't really sour. Lastly the customer service was fantastic. Really zero room for any complaints on our visit. They offer reservations online but this place is so big you may not need them. Highly recommend you check them out. We will certainly be back. read more

We came here on a Saturday night with a last min reservation. This place is in a strip mall nestled between iPlay American and Top Golf suites. Kind of weird but w/e. We were greeted and seated. It had a nice ambience and a good dj. Our server was really nice. I got a virgin hurricane smoked drink, the salmon, the airline chicken and mac n cheese. The drink was good but very sweet. You pay for the presentation. The food took a while to come out but it was good. The salmon was crispy but the sauce it came with was a bit salty. The chicken was good as well and well seasoned. The mac n cheese was good but on the dry side. It needed way more sauce and some salt. All in all i would take the 50 min drive to come here again. read more

This is a beautiful restaurant to come celebrate a birthday or other special event especially if you love Christmas. The decor is so beautiful and festive. There's tons of photo opps. My friend and I planned on coming here for brunch but the kitchen closed around 3pm so we just did dinner. The calamari is truly the best I've ever had it's so delicious ! Must try appetizer. We shared the watermelon flavored "smoke show " drink and it was so delicious. It tasted like a flavored sprite. My bolognese was alright and my friend was not a fan of her shrimp pasta. We were too stuffed to try dessert. But we definitely plan to be back to try their other menu items as well as visit the iplay America which is in the same area as the restaurant read more

Came here in a Tuesday night after seeing a post on Instagram that it was decorated for Christmas and before going to Anne's Tree Farm. We were seated right away. The holiday drinks were expensive $18 but I did enjoy what I got. It was the Yippee Ki Ya Mother F****. We just ordered appetizers. Surf and Turf was good just 2 pieces of shrimp and 3 pieces of steak . Chicken skewers and eggplant flatbread were ok. Service was quick but did feel a lot of the dishes were overpriced. This place has so much potential to be a 5 star place . I had lunch here around 3pm on a Saturday and it was empty . My first impression was wow it's so pretty here why is it empty? Our waitress was very nice but left us unattended for long periods of time even though we were the only people in there, let's just say it was a long wait to order anything additional or even ask for water. My group of 4 shared the burrata tartufa (this was delicious) , the peaches and cream salad ( this was interesting but the presentation was not the best). I got their famous on cloud 9 smoke show and it was pretty cool . For entree I ordered the short rib bolognese based on the good reviews but somehow mine was flavorless- it had the potential to be great and it was a let down , I did not finish it . Based on that I didn't get dessert. Overall, I'd want to give this place a second chance because it's located in a great place (next to IPlay America ), the place is beautiful and it's near my home. I'd just recommend they focus on bettering the presentation of the food, adding some more flavor/spices to the food and being more attentive to the guests : they could be an amazing place ! read more

Hands down the best selection of drinks I've ever came across in a while. My sister and I came here for a dinner date, it was very cute and cozy. For starters I ordered a cocktail called What's up Doc, it's a carrot base drink and man oh man it was delicious! It was nothing how I imagined it to be. Shout out to whoever thought of that! I also tried the Passion fruit Spritz and the To Kill A Rose. Both very favorable, you can barely taste the liquor which is a gift and a curse LOL! The food was AMAZING! My favorite out of everything I ordered was The Surf and Turf Skewers! I'm not even going to go into details just trust my judgment LOL! You will NOT be disappointed. The Chicken Lollipops and The Beef Short Rib bolognese were also different and good menu items I've never had before. They also over brunch and I'm definitely here for a good brunch! I will for SURE be back here! And I Absolutely recommend giving this place a try! Although I feel the service could've been better, we had to wait just about 20 mins for a server to come to our table. No water was brought over to us either. Once our server come, my sister and I brought to her attention how long it took someone to acknowledge us after we were seated. She for sure made up for it all and did a great job as our server the rest of our time there. read more

We decided to stop in for brunch on the weekend. Portions are pretty small for the price so just keep that in mind. My party enjoyed the unlimited mimosa choices! Hot coffee was good but it wasn't unlimited which was a bummer. Ambiance is very dark but volume was low so we were able to talk and chat. Desserts were delicious. Overall this place is a bit pricey for small portions so I'm not sure I would return in the future. read more

Family and friends got together for Easter dinner. When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked in and was greeted and sat at the bar first. We were served by Angelina, and she was great. I got the vesper martini, and it was tasty. We then moved over to the table, and Enea was our server, and he was good. For my meal, I got the chicken Parmesan with pasta and wanted the thicker pasta, but they did not substitute. I had to add a little salt, but it wasn't too bad. The portion was huge. Everyone else enjoyed their meals. We also finished the meal off with a dessert board, which was very good. We had a really good experience. read more

I was excited to try this new place that opened up besides iPlay America, hoping that food quality has improved. The good. - Place is much better vibe then before. - All the food presentation is good. They are definitely photo-genic. Not-so-good. - First of all, a restaurant must have tasty food, everything else comes second but this place wasn't there. Chicken had a smell and tasted old, definitely frozen/thawed with dark bone. I told the waitress it was terrible but she told me that some people like it and some don't. I doubt anyone likes this. Waste of money for 3 legs @$20. Risotto and Mac could've cooked for like 30s more. Cast Away was ok, and they should make traditional garlic bread on the GTO, not the Restaurant Depot bread stick. - Service was slower than a Llama. If you want to pay top dollar for instagram photos, go for it. If not, just go for some drinks and the dessert looked good also. read more

This place is an absolute gem! It is brand new, and it's just open perfect spot to celebrate a birthday dinner, which is exactly what I did! Every inch of this place is a photo op, it looks like a real botanical garden in there. Both my friend and myself tried the to kill a, rose, absolutely delicious strong, and came with a rose, petal on top. Such a beautiful touch. We then shared the complementary whipped ricotta with homemade flatbread chips. Yum. We also share the surf and turf skewers, and the burrata. So creamy and delicious. Super tasty! Also shared some pasta the agnolotti was so good. We also have the brussels sprouts, the creamed kale and the truffle mac & cheese For dessert I had an enormous milkshake completed sparkler it was such a fun time! read more

Usually when I temper my expectations I come away impressed. Despite all the glamorous pictures of the atmosphere online, which to be fair made me think it was like a space in an amusement park being next to iPlay America, I was expecting gimmicky food and drinks. Instead what I got mostly matched the atmosphere, which is nicer and looks less convoluted in person: an excellent cocktail, a solid beer pour, and a reasonably good appetizer. All in a restaurant environment that is a modern version of hip and trendy, and that isn't negatively affected by being in an indoor arcade space. Let's Spoon was an expertly-crafted concoction of gin and raspberry jam, lending itself to a slightly thicker-than-average consistency for the cocktail. I would have joked that a spoon in the drink would make the aesthetic, but my friend ordered one after and got a tiny spoon with raspberry jam in her drink. This was definitely on the stronger side, with enough gin to round out the drink and make it feel worthwhile. I can tell it's a good, if not great, cocktail because I was able to happily sip on it. As a cocktail bar, Loaded Spoon is relaxing and markedly better than the average restaurant. I ordered the Thai Chicken Skewers, and this was also better than expected: the Thai chili sauce had prominent flavors, the chicken was barbecued well if not a tad overcooked, and the bread served with it sopped up the wonderful sauce nicely. Now I'm slightly curious about the entrees. Desserts in particular have my attention, as what I saw looked delicious and multi-layered with fresh whipped cream and numerous sweet elements. The milkshakes I saw ordered looked better than competing milkshake menus at other restaurants that do over-the-top milkshakes with cake, etc. on top. All of the desserts looked to be outrageous. This is a higher-end establishment, so do expect to come here for a special occasion or a night out for drinks. The bar has plenty of space, with a couple of benches and seats wrapping around the room. The dining room tables also looked comfortable, and well-constructed like a nicer Atlantic City casino restaurant. A lot of reviews mention the service, and the bartenders were pretty much on top of their game. I appreciate how they provided water as well without having to ask for it. The front desk staff were accommodating enough to questions. All-in-all I had a wonderful time at The Loaded Spoon, which is what matters in a cocktail bar. read more

I came to visit the Christmas pop up. Aesthetically this was done very well. The idea of the restaurant near iplay America and top golf is a good idea. The hot honey calamari was good. But the entrees were awful. Pasta was not fully cooked, the shrimp scampi was merely just shrimp and garlic sauce and the pan seared salmon dish I asked for extra seared was barely seared and the combination of that dish with farro and sweetened cranberries was terrible. At least our waitress was very nice and accommodating about our issues with the food. But would not recommend. read more

I came here last night with 2 of my gfs. They have never been here so they wanted to try it. This is my 2nd go around. It's a nice place, atmosphere is nice, waiter/waitresses are nice, there big drinks are cool and taste pretty good. From the food stand point I wasn't impressed last night. My gf tried the lobster bisque - it was ok. I ordered that clam pasta dish - wasn't impressed by it and left a weird sweet fishy taste that wasn't pleasant. Weird way to describe the taste right? I didn't even finish it. When I took home for my husband to taste it, he was not a fan. Sigh - I dont know if I should try this place again or just make my way down to Tommy's Tavern at least there j know the food is good and not ridiculously priced. read more

I had such a fabulous time at this spot; the environment, the staff, the food all made my experience one to remember The vibe when you walk in is super upbeat and the decor is super modern, clean and very inviting. The drinks, THE DRINKS, one better than the next. My absolute favorites were the pistachio espresso martini and the blood of the dragon. The pistachio in the martini added some smoothness and some saltiness I didn't know I needed. The blood of the dragon was like a spicy margarita on steroids. Not super spicy but just enough kick to get you in a party mood All of the appetizers, entrees and the DESSERT were fabulous! My favorite app was the beggars purses. Perfectly fried on the outside but stuffed with some delicious sausage and ricotta cheese on the inside. My lobster fusilli was stuffed with delicious lobster and cheese and full of flavor. The desserts was where is all comes together in a beautiful close to the night. We got the Brooklynite milkshake along with the One Last Kiss, the dessert with the hazelnut and chocolate mousse was so smooth and delicious. The milkshake was HUGE AND DELICIOUS! Stuffed with brownie, cookie, chocolate straws, chocolate curls, stroopwaffle, whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, chocolate covered marshmallow, and anything else they had in the kitchen. Everything made it such a fun and fantastic night and I cannot wait to go back for their nights with a DJ to party it up! read more

Wanted to give this place a try because i knew my daughter would be coming here another night. Started with the eggplant flatbread. Pretty good. Wish the eggplant was sliced differently. But it tasted good. Had a old fashion cocktail. Also good. And had the pork chop for my main course. That happened to be real good. Tender and cooked properly. Service was prompt and friendly. Prices were pretty normal for these days. Set up was a bit weird. Its kinda in Funtime. A big arcade place. But not in there. So the restaurant was a bit loud. If i could give zero stars, i would. Firstly, it took our waitress Jamie (I think that was her name because she mumbled something.) Her demeanor was as dry as the country fried steak that i ordered. i had to drown the country fried steak in salt for it to taste like something. i've had better in an elementary school cafeteria. the champagne glass was dirty. the potatoes in the home fries were also grainy and dirty. who knows what the health code is for this place. One of the individuals in our party was halfway done with her French toast before her syrup was brought out. it's not like the syrup was warm so the waitress must have taped a maple tree in the kitchen based on how long it took. the music was loud and obnoxious. i could not wait to leave. i literally said out loud at the table "I Hate this place". the manager even came over because my entire party was clearly having a bad time. there was only 5 tables there and i can see why it wasn't filled. The service was awful. the nicest thing about that place was the manager's blouse. 0 out of 10. Would not recommend read more

I hosted a dinner at The Loaded Spoon in Freehold,NJ lastnite for my sister bday celebration. The server was all over the place the food was cold and burn and old and also very bland looking they gave my brother the wrong steak it was so dry it had a skin condition the garlic mash potatoes was just what it was NO FLAVOR no butter just bland as hell. The food is way over priced for the portion and taste. They need to get a REAL CHEF. We paid $20 for just 1 skewer the server put other people bills on our bill from a whole other table. I'm so disappointed with this place for a check of $609 I advise if u go eat a burger that way u on neutral ground well I hope so they fucked up some mash potatoes. This restaurant is super cute! Great ambiance and attentive staff. Saturday night they had a DJ that played good music and it wasn't too loud (I was seated right in front of the DJ so I was nervous but it was fine). The drinks were amazing! Pricey but worth it. I had the One In A Melon and it was so good. I had the Chicken Lollipops (an appetizer) and fries for my meal. They were just okay. Not seasoned well enough in my opinion as stated in some of the other reviews. When I added salt and pepper they were better but I was disappointed because it's a unique dish they offer that sounded good. My friend felt the same way about their steak (good but not seasoned well). All in all great place with a great atmosphere and really good drinks. Too bad the food is just meh. Because it was such a great experience overall I'd go again. I'll update my review if the food is better. read more

Came back after not being here for a couple months. It was really looking forward to getting the lobster fusilli but was honestly disappointed to see that they didn't have it on the menu to be honest. This is what we came here for so we were kind of let down. We came on a Thursday night, and it was actually quite quiet and empty. It was nice that they gave us time. They weren't rushing us out of there. We did get the filet which was very good not sure if it was worth $50. We also got the truffle mac & cheese, which is pretty good and the corn risotto which was mediocre. I do think that some things on their menu are over priced but I at this point, you should be planning to spend a little bit of money if you're coming here. The one guy working there came up and actually offered to give us comped dessert which was really nice and unexpected. I feel bad commenting bc it was free but I must say both kind of tasted kind of stale and old. It really was a sweet gesture, no pun intended, but unfortunately neither tasted fresh. read more

Was very excited for this opening in town. The restaurant is beautiful located inside iPlay America. It is perfect for large groups, they have a lot of large tables to fit comfortably. I went with a group we ordered a bunch of apps and a main course each. I had the what's up doc cocktail - it was delicious. $17 for a speciality cocktail but for me how delicious it was worth it! All the apps overall were very good. Our waitress gave her very honest recommendations which at first I was turned off given that she said a lot of her tables didn't like certain mains and sides. But to be honest, she was right. The main dishes were good but for the price to me not worth it. This is definitely a place I would go back to have more cocktails and apps! read more

My friend and I were very excited to try this place. I believe it just opened a couple months ago. First let me say, it's expensive. Just know before going, you will be dropping a good amount of money. I would consider it to be $$$. We got the Cloud 9 drink, which is fun for a first time experience but I would never go back the big drinks. The dry ice hardens the bottom part of the liquid in the drink so a quarter of it is actually not drinkable. You can only drink 3 quarters and it's filled with ice so assume you're drinking half this cup for $35. For an experience, sure get it but if you just want a drink, get something else. Cloud 9 tasted fine, something like cherry soda and I ate a couple of the candy in the drink. For dinner, I got the lobster fusilli and my friend got the gnocchi bacon scallops. Both were extremely good! Five stars for the entrees and pasta. So good! And seafood was VERY well made. The service was great. She knew the whole menu up and down. Ambiance is great and the place is huge but very nicely done. read more

Where to begin? First off, as we approached the host stand, another large group of separate people who wanted to know if they had chicken wings and the "smokey"drinks on the menu greeted us at the host stand. On the interior, I appreciate the Christmas theme .Decorated nicely. At dinner, my party had the kale caesar salad which was Applebees at best, as well as the chicken skewers, which may as well been churning on the 7-11 rollers. Entree was Rigatoni Bolognese, which I wouldn't give to a homeless person. Drinks..ceramic dinosaur holiday cup half full of dive bar juice wasn't to my liking. Service..I've never seen waitresses with their hair down at a restaurant and nor do I think it's sanitary to touch and play with it. Our server seemed polite at first, but she seemed more preoccupied with cackling with her fellow servers in the back area, smoking vape pens and tapping on their phone. As for management, they seemed congenial but disinterested, and not aware of the empty glasses or dirty plates that weren't pre-bussed as they passed by. Overall , if you want to "Get Loaded" do so before you come in. That way you won't mind the price of bad holiday food/drink/service. read more

My wife and I went here tonight for a date night. The overall vibe of the restaurant is great. It has an upscale feel and decor. The music is a bit loud, but not so loud that you can't hold a conversation. Once we were seated, it took our server about 10 minutes to acknowledge the fact that we were there. In his defense, he was the only server in that area and he was great once we overcame that hurdle. He was attentive enough to make sure we were taken care of but did not helicopter over us. Prior to the meal my wife got a pistachio espresso martini and I got a brown butter old fashioned, both were very good. The meal started with flat bread crackers and whipped, house made ricotta. It was very tasty. My wife started with the French Onion Soup. It was good but a bit on the sweet side for my taste. I had the lobster bisque and it was amazing. It was velvety, perfectly seasoned, and had large chunks of butter poached lobster in it. My wife got the tuna for her entree and it was flavorful and perfectly cooked. I had the lemon thyme chicken. It was ok, but it was over seasoned and bland at the same time. We took a chocolate dessert home and it was really good! The total bill was just over $200 including a tip. Overall, the food was ok but I don't know that it was worth the cost. They do have some apps that I would like to try in the future. I will likely go back and sit at their large bar for a couple of cocktails and apps. Definitely worth a try. read more

Check out this restaurant right in the heart of freehold. Located next to top golf so your date night is set up for success, but that's if you can make it past the decadence of the dessert portion. Decided to check this place out. No waiting. Sat at bar. Matt ( I thought was the bartender) greeted us right away very friendly guy. The bartender eventually made his way to us and made our drinks. The place was not full nor was the bar but ok on the timing. The appetizers were good. The beggars purse was perhaps the highlight. Overall not bad. The place is nice. Not sure I'd call it the best place in the area but certainly for the first time there, we liked it enough (although a bit pricey) to give a second try down the road. Let's see. We'll update this review next time. Loved the DJ music but a bit loud and difficult to talk even at close range. One final point. Very disappointed. As it was the grand opening, I expected a few hiccups. They were a little disorganized, even though there was absolutely no customers in the restaurant, it took a few minutes for them to find us a table and then again to find where that table was. We were seated and our waiter was very friendly and we had zero issues with timing of our drinks and food. I order a what's up doc and my partner ordered a beer. I really liked my drink--very refreshing though a little light on the alcohol. The food was the disappointing part. We ordered the chicken lollipops as a starter, and though the sauce was good, the chicken itself was quite bland. We then got two pasta dishes--the truffle papardelle and the taglioni vongole. They were both so bland. They were also both very watery--with nothing sticking onto the pasta so it was almost like a pasta soup without enough soup. The truffle dish smelled of truffle but wasn't present in the taste. And the taglioni's best part were the few clams that adorned the dish. If I were to come back, it would only be for drinks at the bar, because the ambiance is actually quite nice. I wish the food were better because we only live a few minutes away and were quite hopeful that this could become our new spot! read more

Went to the Loaded Spoon for brunch because I was in the mood for a Bloody Mary. This was the best Bloody Mary I've ever tasted. It was very spicy with a lot of horseradish. I ordered the Jersey Benny, which was Slab Porkroll, Beef Gravy, Potato Pancake with poached eggs and a hollandaise sauce. The calamari was very good but entrees were just ok and for the pricing you would expect a more flavorful or bountiful serving. A $65 ribeye was just ok and peppercorn sauce was served late, when almost halfway done with the steak. It ended up being an au jus which is not much of a peppercorn so I'm not sure what was going on with that. The whipped potatoes needed something, either some butter or gravy but a very plain small serving for $12. Consider including sides to your steak because at those prices, expectations were very high and they definitely fell flat. Loaded milkshake was just ok, watery/melted consistency under the dry donut and poprock filled wafers. $24 is a bit of a stretch for the quality of milkshake. Maybe consider a better ice cream. Service started ok and then after appetizers I had to constantly ask for and flag someone down for our waitress. The Restaraunt was not full at this time as all surrounding tables in my section were empty. The 3 is because the decor and design aesthetic is very nice and modern but other than that, it lacks the allure to bring me back as a regular or even for another visit. read more

Tried this for the first time this weekend with my kids. The prices are a bit extreme , especially inside on iPlay , which is supposed to be a family venue. The food was OK. My kids had to order adult size meals because they have a very limited selection for a kids menu. I am not sure why this place is so overly priced out. It does not have a true identity. It is trying too hard to be high end and honestly fails at this attempt. My feeling is that the loaded spoon will not be around by end of 2024. The limited menu and obscene prices will turn away many families. 1/5 stars because I couldn't give 0. read more

Decided to come by for the Miracle Pop Up around Christmas time for an early dinner. We were seated right away and had a nice server. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with festive Christmas decorations which was entertaining to look at while waiting for our food. The food took quite a bit of time to come out. My friend and I ordered a burger, both of us asking it to be cooked medium. Both were brought out well done and it was ultimately flavorless. The saving grace was the special sauce that came with the burger. I swapped out the normal fries for truffle fries which were underwhelming for truffle fries, normally they are my favorite. My other friend ordered the statler chicken which came with a risotto. The meal was served to her room temperature and was very bland. I tried some of the risotto and it had no flavor to it. Needless to say it was a disappointing dinner. I would only come back to give their brunch a chance, but otherwise I would save your money and eat elsewhere. This place seems to get a lot of social media attention for being a cool upscale restaurant in Monmouth County but it's not worth it to sit in an aesthetically pleasing restaurant only to be served underwhelming food. read more
