Stepping into the Lizze Rose house is like being a guest at the house, or a guest at a bed and breakfast. It is the perfect spot for my family to take a step back from the stresses of everyday rushed life and to transcend into the tranquility of a more noble and elegant time period. The Victorian house is beautifully adorned with dainty tea sets and table settings where I imagine Victorian women in corset dresses once sat and sipped tea, brimming with gossip. I have no idea if they ever did but the setting is perfect for this.... We came here for tea and scones and we loved everything about it. We ordered 2 teapots for the 4 of us. The tea is made with loose leaves and are very fragrant. The "Buckingham Palace", made with earl grey and hints of jasmine was my favorite. It is fragrant and the tea flavor really comes through. The "Cranberry Apples" is made with roseships and hibiscus petals. The cranberry flavor dominates, giving it a fruity, tangy flavor. The scones...deliciously soft and moist inside with the perfect crisp brown crunch on top, is exactly how I love my scones...and with lemon curd and clotted cream! Lizzie gave us an interesting history chat on the house and the 2 surrounding houses. I loved learning about the house and the story behind some of the pieces. The teapots, tea cups, paintings displayed throughout the house are all for sale. We ended up buying several teapots and teacups! Came here a little while ago with my boyfriend and had such an amazing time. The food was phenomenal, and they had such an amazing selection of teas. Liz gave us a talk on the history of the home and purchasing it, which was such a fun addition to the visit. Made it extremely special and memorable, and we both love history. Not to mention, the building is absolutely adorable and has such cute decor on the inside. We had such a delicious high tea at Lizzie Rose. The seasonal squash soup was warm and comforting. Yummy savory bites especially the egg salad stuffed tomatoes. The scones were served fresh from the oven; with lemon curd, strawberry and clotted cream. We really enjoyed the sweet treats as well. My tea was earl grey with lavender, a wonderful blend. I go to tea rooms often. This one is probably the biggest and best ones I've ever been to! The home itself is Victorian and beautiful! Bobbi was a great host and prepared delicious food. I don't like potatoes but her potato leek soup was soooooo goood! We're still thinking about it and we were there days ago. She added some things that aren't typical in traditional teas which was nice. I will for sure be back the next time I'm in Atlantic City. Side note: she also has a really cute private room available for two. Perfect for special occasions like anniversary's. read more

If you are looking for an elegant, personalized, 5 star treatment tea party in Ocean County The Lizzie Rose is the place to be! Great place for "girls day" brunch/lunch but also can enjoy a romantic evening with your significant other in the upstairs tower or even a host bridal/baby shower! You will not find a more beautifully restored building anywhere in the area. It is gorgeous. The staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming and full of local stories. The gift shop has a lot of unique items that are great for gifts. I had tea there with some friends. It was delicious and lots of fun. This is a hidden gem in Tuckerton. read more

The Lizzie Rose is a beautifully restored tea room / restaurant. The surroundings, lovely dining music, make it a wonderful dining experience. However, during the winter time, they serve only on Fri Sat Sun. My friends and I were there on Friday. They were out of the quiche, croissants and the soup of the day!!! ??? Needless, to say we were disappointed. The service was very good, although slow, due to one waitress. My selection was very good, the chicken and spinach wrap, and of course, a nice hot pot of tea was very nice. This was my second time here. I will defiantly be back ;) read more
