I found myself an inpatient at TriStar Horizon (NO, I'm not contagious!) They've taken pretty good…read morecare of me here. I'll break things down into pros and cons: Pros: 1. Everyone here is super-nice and respectful. 2. My privacy has been respected. I mean, they keep the door shut when you're buck naked in bed, or having a procedure performed. 3. Everyone is genuinely interested in helping you recover your health so you can get back to your life. Cons: 1. Sometimes when you use the call button to summon some help, they might forget about you. (I'll grant that you might be trying to reach someone when it's super-busy, but this happens more often than I'd like to see. Surely there's a solution to this problem.) 2. The menu is BORING! There are only so many days a person can eat overcooked scrambled eggs and tough turkey sausage. Thankfully, you have a little wiggle room if you can get hold of their "Menu at a Glance" which has a few different options you can request by calling down to the dietary office. 3. I use CPAP therapy, but I was only allowed to use a hospital-approved machine. A very loud hospital-approved machine with a very ill-fitting face mask. I mean, it got the job done, and I didn't suffocate in my sleep, but... That's all I can say about that. All in all, it's been a good stay, if you can forget you're in a hospital. I realize that everyone's experience with TriStar Horizon may differ. We've all heard the horror stories about different facilities. As for my experience, it's been pretty good, no horror stories and only a few minor inconveniences. No major complaints. I'm happy I chose to be treated here. And I recommend them.

I had been to Urgent Care previously and got very good service so yesterday when I took a fall, I…read morewent there to be checked out instead of the ER. Big mistake. First they obviously don't know the meaning of triage as I.was in major pain when I walked in and it was apparent to all the others in the waiting room who were there for cold symptoms and other less urgent issues. However I sat.there waiting for about 45 minutes before I was seen. The LPN who called me back was not very friendly , tried to get me on a scale and I asked if it was.really necessary.and she just kind of nodded..I then tried to stand up but couldn't. Fortunately physician or NP in hallway saw what was happening and the obvious pain I was in , so she intervened and agreed.there was no need to get on the scale. The physician or NP was very caring and I would rate the experience with her alone a 4.5 as she was attentive and caring. Only thing that she could have done better is introduce herself as I didn't even get her name nor do I recall her asking what mine was. Initial person who worked with me also took me for.xrays and was just not very friendly through the whole procedure of several xrays. She probably could use some.training in bedside manner but also in how to push someone and care for them in a wheelchair. Several times if I had not been watching and picked my foot up, she would have banged it into something. I had to ask her to push me from waiting area back to room as when she called my name she just stood there watching me.struggle with pushing myself straight. Third person I.came.in contact was a male.LPN or nurse, who came.in to put my foot into an aircast. This guy was rude, also had no bedside manner and when I had questions about the aircast answered my question very briefly and then as he quickly turned to leave the room, reminded me that he had given me an instruction manual. I wanted to throw it at him and tell him that people in alot of pain don't necessarily focus on finding page 37 of the manual to get a question answered! (And yes surprisingly they did do a pain scale with me when I first got into the room and I told them I was at a 10 on.a scale of 10). Again, no one except the NP or physician who actually treated me.seemed very concerned about the pain I was in . I also asked this male.nurse if we could use the wheelchair or a pair of crutches to get to the car. He told us they don't have any crutches I could use and if I wanted to get a pair I would need to sign another form agreeing to pay for.them. I asked if I could use the wheelchair and he said, " as long as I brought it back in." Did he think I was gonna try to steal his little crooked rolling wheelchair? By the way, they ruled out any fracture and put me in a walking boot, then called me the next day and told me a radiologist had looked at my xrays and confirmed that my tibia was fractured. It was then they told me to make sure and not put any weight on the foot, after I had spent an agonizing night trying to figure out why my leg was.still hurting so bad if this was just torn ligaments. Also after they were willing to let me walk out using the aircast. This follow up call the next day also reminded me of one very important thing they did not do which is I did not receive any Discharge plan or paperwork whatsoever. Only thing that was gone over with me to sign was one sheet of paper making sure I signed to take responsibility for paying for the aircast if insurance didnt cover it. I have to say I have never been to any medical appointment much less an urgent issue, where you don't leave with discharge recommendations. Again, overall poor service in general. The physician over.this practice should really do.some.training for the staff on customer.service, person centered planning, and maybe occupational basics as I had to figure out myself how to climb up on the xray table while the unhelpful LPN just stood there. The front desk receptionist did.walk out with me and offered to help me get into the car..however I think the real reason was to make sure I.didnt steal the precious crooked wheelchair! Definately not a place I will return to again unless it is to hand this feedback out to everyone that works there. As a Quality and Compliance specialist who ensures hospitals are conforming to best practices and minimum accreditation standards, they might be interested to know I do know what I am.talking about. Perhaps one thing that I did miss is that they are not Joint Commission accredited whereas some Urgent Cares are. Look for that gold seal of approval when you visit a place as there are then at least minimum expectations that staff are held accountable to follow.

The 1st time I took papers to them it took about almost 3 weeks, several calls and a 30 mile ride to their office to get it completed. 2nd time still took several days and for this 3rd time, I took the paper 1 day and she was off. They said they'd give it to her the next day. Note 4 days later, I'm still waiting. So if you foresee needing to be off long enough to get short term disability, I'd pick another doctor's office. Good luck

I was in a lot of pain and quite disabled. I really thought I was coming to her initially to get some sort of brace, but instead she offered me a life-changing surgery. Dr. Bork performed an ankle fusion and also corrected some problems with tendons and arthritis buildup. It was a very complex surgery, and the recovery was lengthy, but I must say that the outcome was better than I could ever have hoped for. My foot is now strong and functional and, amazingly, the pain is gone. I had resigned myself to being disabled the rest of my life. In addition to being highly skilled, Dr. Bork is the nicest person you will ever meet. She takes time to talk with you about concerns and answer questions and does it all with kindness. Her staff is organized, efficient, and pleasant. I've never had a bad experience there. Highly recommend.

Most of my clothes were taken away when I arrived and they were items I was told over the phone that I could bring. I had to cook my own meals plus a dinner for the entire house which was 20 girls plus house mothers. This is a lot for someone who could barely function and required treatment. I was there for 10 days and not allowed to make phone calls. None! The therapist told my husband I was not doing well and needed a higher level of care. He then left for the weekend. I was nearly catatonic and could barely form a sentence. I tried talking to the house, mothers, a nurse, the doctor, therapist, and the head therapist and I could not get the help I needed. I was seen on Saturday 2/12/25. I had been feeling sick with symptoms of fever, chills, body aches,…read morechest pain, etc. After I was swabbed the test results came back negative, I had requested a PCR test prior to being swabbed as I was told Flu A rapids were not very accurate. They denied me as I was told "the provider doesn't like them". When the provider told me the results were negative , I asked if she was concerned with my symptoms of chest pain and bloody taste in my mouth, she answered "no". I also asked if she was concerned with the fact that I had a fever and I asked if I was contagious, she said "if you have a fever you're contagious". This confused me as I had received all negative test results. I received a steroid shot as that was recommended. I left feeling as if she did not care or take the proper time to access me as she hardly let me get a word in before trying to slip out the door. My family member works at a lab in the area and told me to come to her house to do another rapid Flu/Covid test. It popped immediately positive for FLU A. So not only did the staff there rush me and disregard my symptoms/concerns, they did not do their due diligence and give me the time and consideration I deserved as I am a paying patient. I honestly understand how Flu A is so rampant right now as the testing is done in a rush to keep the patients flowing. If I did not have someone in the medical field to re-swab me the SAME HOUR as being swabbed in the lab at DMA SOUTH, then I wouldn't have known I had it and would have probably unknowingly spread it to someone else. Not sure this will even do any good just spreading awareness.
