I've enjoyed my association with Dr Ennis in the past, but today changed all that. I had a 2:20pm…read moreappointment with one of his PA's in order to have a prescription refilled. I waited at the receptionist's window for a few minutes while she checked in an English challenged woman. their conversation was difficult because of the language barrier, but I stood there patiently. When she left the window, the receptionist "greeted" me with "NEXT!". I chuckled and gave her my name. she stated "you had a 2:20 appointment and we only hold the window for 10 minutes, would you like to reschedule? I looked at my watch (an Apple Watch that's know for it's accuracy) and so help me, it was 2:31. I replied that if you're serious, then no, I don't ever want to reschedule with this practice. And I won't. I wish I had noticed her name, but I felt it best to keep quiet and leave. She was not, at all, pleasant, to say the least. Fortunately, these Dr's are a dime a dozen and I will spend my money elsewhere. The irony of this is that anyone that has ever been to Ennis's office knows that it's not unusual to spend literally hours waiting to be seen. If this 10 minute policy is their way to crawl out of that hole, it would have been nice if they mentioned it in the many, many texts and emails they sent out reminding me of the appointment. I've long been a positive voice for Tennova hospital, but this will sure temper that. Practices like this will help Tennova earn their just reputation.

I've been going to the IBD clinic for going on now 11 years. I originally started seeing Dr. David…read moreSchwartz then. I was going through some stuff and didn't know what it was. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and they were able to get me on a treatment plan. I am happy to say that I'm in the 10th percentile which doesn't have much of an issue with their disease. Each year I have an appointment here and every two years a colonoscopy. As my health has gotten back on track, I went from seeing Dr. Schwartz to Julie Wagnon, and now I see Caroline Duley. Each of them have been amazing. You can tell that they really do care about your health and you as person. The office is located in The Medical Arts on the second floor in suite 220. The office staff are always friendly and helpful on check in. The office waiting room has a bathroom, as do each of the examination rooms. The rooms also have tables to lie flat on with stirrups, I (unfortunately) have never gotten to use them. This clinic is excellent. I cannot say enough good things about the people who work here. If you have any bowel issues, these people are here to help you.

Long story short, I was tested, scheduled for a colonoscopy and assigned an IBD team - a group of professionals who handled me gently and thoroughly. From a dietitian, psychologist, nurse practitioner, gastroenterologist, pharmacy supervisor, lab technician to nurses and clerical staff - I was introduced to all, spent time with each and began my treatment plan for moderate/severe Ucerative Colitis. Without going into more personal detail, I can not say enough about my care and treatment at Vanderbilt. At all times they have been supportive, interested, concerned and professional and have helped me to achieve the beginning of remission. They take time to educate me about my disease and my options and they take time to pay attention to my emotional needs too. They do understand that this is a life changing and chronic illness and they help me to get the best treatment available. They have worked well with my local general practitioner to coordinate all of my health care needs, and with my local cancer care clinic where I routine receive infusions of medication for my disease. I am pleased with Vanderbilt, my doctor, Dr. Robin Dalal, nurse practitioner Julie Wagnon and some members of their staff. I would not hesitate for one nano-second to refer Vanderbilt's Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center for any and all gut related issues.
