Limes are probably my favorite fruit; alongside other favorite fruits of mine (habanero, tomato and avocado...yes, those are ALL fruits!), you'll find me pretty content at any Mexican restaurant, for obvious reasons. But it is also the best fruit with with to make a tasty beverage, if you ask me...I will absolutely demolish a limeade when I find one. Sadly, they are not all that common. Thankfully, the Lime Stand has emerged to fill that gap in the market. Located in a "sneeze and you'll miss it" space with a street-facing window just on the corner of Alberta and 15th, these madlads are serving up all manner of citric concoctions of tea and limes, juiced, mashed, shaken and stirred, to which you can all manner of flavors and toppings...well, bottomings (like boba or jellies), really, but you get the idea. Light, refreshing and tart (without being overly so), The Lime Stand is, for me, as someone who doesn't drink much else than water or an energy drink, probably by favorite beverage bartering business in Portland. It may be a little hard to find, especially if you aren't specifically looking for it, but they're serving up drinks here that are too good to miss!
Posted on 7/27/2025 visit - Only available Fridays and Saturdays: Taiwanese Peanut Ice Cream Burrito. Service has been consistently friendly and quick both times I visited since they opened. This is a cute little stand offering to-go orders only, located at the corner of NE 15th Ave and Alberta St. There's a bus stop right in front and free street parking throughout the neighborhood. I got The Wingin It both visits, and The Hustler once. The drinks were refreshing thanks to the freshly hand-smashed lime added to your tea as you order. For someone like me who typically drinks strong, bold teas, this was different, the lime flavor definitely overpowered the very lightly brewed tea. On 7/27/2025, my son joined me and got The Wingin It as well; he mentioned he should have asked for a second smashed lime to get a stronger citrus punch. The menu is simple, with a specialized focus on Hand-Smashed Lime Tea. All drinks are $7, and you can choose one or two limes smashed in (no extra charge): -Tea Base: Jasmine Green, Thai Green, Hibiscus (Decaf), Oolong -Flavors: Plain, Passion Fruit, Lychee, Strawberry -Toppings ($0.50): Passion Fruit Popping Boba, Strawberry Popping Boba, Lychee Jelly While the tea experience is unique and refreshing, I wouldn't drive across town for it. But I'll continue to support them whenever I'm in the neighborhood. At $7, it's comparable to most drinks these days, and a fun twist if you like lime-forward drinks. No restroom available on site.
Came here with a friend and we both ordered the passionfruit drink. I added like you to mine. She drank it without. It was perfect sweetness. We both enjoyed our drinks. The places around the corner and not directly on Alberta Street. Which makes it a little hard to find. It is literally a stand. You do not walk into the store. Your order from outside. It's difficult to see from the street so look for the signs.
This little stand is located on the corner of 15th. It is a rather small space with an ordering window. There is a bench inside with some purchasable memorabilia on the wall. The server was very kind and went through her top lime-based recommendations. I ended up getting Wingin' It, which was thoroughly enjoyable. The floral, fragrant jasmine, mixed with the balanced, nutty coconut milk, and some bright tartness of the lime was actually really refreshing. I didn't end up finishing all of my drink and saved it for later. I forgot to remove the lime pieces, and it ended up being incredibly bitter from the rinds. Oops, that was a learning experience. Anyways, similar to other drink spots, you can mix and match, as well as adjust sweetness. The prices range from $6-8 each, which is pretty comparable to other places.
While I was craving for a citrus-y kumquat drink, the barista gal had suggested their honey peach hibiscus seasonal drink which was the most similar, with half the sweetness. And OMG it hit the spot! Limey, tangy, and really made my taste buds happy! Thank you for the suggestion:) I wish this was closer to home! It's always a nice treat when I'm able to stop by.
Cute lil spot in NE Portland right beside a fusion brunch place. Ordered the coconut cream/lime and the lychee/oolong tea/lime. This was our first time trying smashed lime and it was pretty refreshing and not too sweet. Personally the coconut/lime combo was not my favourite. I think the lime works better with other fruit combos like the lychee or passionfruit. For $7 it's on par with most other places nowadays. I would have liked to see lychee chunks in my drink for the price! I'd come back if I was in the area to try the other flavors!
Drinks from the Lime Stand have easy to enjoy sweetness mixed with more complex flavors. I enjoy every sip of my teas from The Lime Stand. The mixology is spot on. Also, I'm not an easy sell with sweet things, but I appreciated the medley of flavors mixed together by hand. The staff are attentive & helpful. The shop is small, on the corner & has an efficient to go system. There's a food cart pod across the street for dining. I usually prefer to sip and walk down Alberta Street. Speaking of Street, street parking is available.
This is gonna be THE SPOT this summer -- I just know it! Elaine and Jimmy, the co-owners, have really come up with something special. They started as a stand at a local farmers market and four months later, they opened up this spot where beloved Kulfi used to be on alberta and 15th. The jasmine tea infused with the crushed lime creates such an interesting taste where both flavors enhance each other. It's so good. They have six flavors on the menu with two seasonal/special options that are listed on the black board immediately upon entering. My friend and I both got the "wingin' it" after sampling it - it reminded us of yakult. I was surprised that the coconut milk flavor wasn't more prominent (which I prefer bc sometimes coconut can really overpower everything else). The special "half and half" is also delicious but I just needed something without too much caffeine. They have one non-caffeinated option which was "the slacker," the hibiscus tea. The limes are crushed right on the spot and Jimmy will pour you whatever is leftover after filling your cup in a little sample bc hey ... you are paying $7 per drink after all! If you think the price is too steep for a drink, just trust me when I say it's WORTH IT. the drinks are so refreshing and so delicious. Eat at memoire caphe and then make a pit stop at The Lime Stand. Thank me later!
Tiny cute place to get fresh, hand smash lime tea. As it is a tiny space only approximately 4-6 customers can be in the store without feeling claustrophobic. Upon ordering we were given samples to taste two types of teas on their menu. Once you place your order you can watch the worker make your drink and smashing the limes. Definitely recommend and would come back. Dont forget to check their white board as they have special flavors too that isn't on the menu. As it is in the heart of Alberta street, street parking only and can be challenging. Tip: to drink the tea day of. I saved half of my tea for the following day and it was bitter.
Yum!!! Delicious hand smashed lime tea. We got two teas to try: the routine and the wingin' it. The routine was their jasmine green tea one which had a strong jasmine tea flavor and their wingin' it is similar but with coconut milk. I personally loved the wingin' it because the coconut milk makes it so creamy. The only downside is that each drink is $7 which honestly is quite expensive for what you're getting. Nonetheless it's such a delicious drink; please go try it if you haven't already!
I ran into The Lime Stand at Montavilla Farmers Market this weekend & their drinks hit the spot like usual! They're making something that no one else in Portland is. Owners Jimmy & Elaine were inspired by drinks they had while traveling and spent a lot of time figuring out which limes to use that they could get here in the PNW. They started at the farmers market and now have a small brick and mortar. It's a business story that Portland loves! The drinks are great. Super unique, and a little pricey for a beverage, so I can see how they might not be to everyone's tastes. But they're hand-smashed, dialed-in recipes, that are both sweet and sour, refreshing with a kick. So far I've tried the Winging It, Passionate, and Slacker - they have three others I'd like to try and you can always build your own creation by choosing the tea base, added flavors, and toppings. read more
What I am always looking for in a cold beverage -- I had the hibiscus lime tea with just sugar and it was absolutely refreshing. It was tart, sweet, and perfectly lime. Service is also great and it's super fun to watch someone mash up your limes with a wooden pestle and then put the whole thing in the super shakey-shake machine. read more

A tiny spot located off Alberta area that offers some refreshing smashed lime drinks. I had the seasonal - Raisin the Bar - hibiscus tea, lime, sugar, and grape. The drink was what I needed after having eating a good meal. It was light, tart, and super enjoyable. read more

Went to try out the The Lime Stand for the ice cream peanut brittle burrito. Went there at 5pm. Was disappointed to learn that the ice cream peanut brittle was only available on Fridays and Saturdays. 6pm to 9pm. We came back after 6pm. A line to buy drinks and ice cream has now formed. I got "The Passionate" lime drink with the ice cream burrito. The drink was made quickly. They have a little device that "machine shakes" the ingredients into the drink. Quite fun to watch. You stand to pay for the drink and Ice cream at the window. Then you wait in another line for the ice cream being made in front of you. There were 4 choices of ice creams available: Taro, Vanilla Bean, Mountain Huckleberry and Oregon Strawberry. You can pick either 2 or 3 scoops of ice cream. And cilantro was optional. I chose the Taro and Mountain Huckleberry with cilantro. Peanut brittle had to be shaved off and then put on a steam wrapper and then giving to the person who scoops the ice cream and cilantro. A bit of process. Where everything is made to order. The ice cream was delicious. Cilantro gave a good fresh taste and texture to the ice cream. Crunchy and refreshing bite along with something sweet. I was so happy that I added the cilantro. Definitely add it to your ice cream to add a more distinctive taste to your taste buds. The lime drink was pretty tasty. Enough of a great refreshing taste without overpowering your taste buds. It will be something good for any hot summer days in Portland. The shop is very tiny. Parking is street parking in Alberta neighborhoods. There is a bus stop in front of this establishment. There is one bench outside of The Lime Stand. Garbage can is right by the Bus Stop. Not much seating is available. You will either have to stand there and eat. Or eat while walking. Quite fun to explore this area and find new places. read more
Who would have thought adding some limes to teas would make them extra refreshing. There are 6 different drink options with 2 rotating as well. Basically tea bases (hibiscus being the decaf option) + lime + sugar + maybe something else. Good flavor profiles. $7 for a drink. Can adjust ice and sweetness, but it's limes here so you know what to expect. This is a small location so definitely TO GO read more
First time trying the Lime Stand and it's at their storefront! The storefront is very small, and has just about enough interior space for ordering which makes it still feel like you're ordering from a stand. I ordered The Passionate drink. I would give it a 3.75/5 because it tasted mostly of the lime & tea, but not enough of any passion fruit flavor. It was not a sugary-sweet drink which I enjoyed because it tasted more refreshing this way. read more
such a cute little hole in the wall. we arrived late on a saturday in hopes to try their new taiwanese peanut brittle burritos, and after waiting for roughly an hour, we got them! the ice cream choices were taro, black sesame, strawberry or vanilla. luckily we were able to try all of their flavors. the strawberry and vanilla were not notable. taro was great and worked well with the peanut brittle. unfortunately the black sesame tasted a bit burnt and the group did not enjoy the flavor as much as we had thought we would. we also tried their "the wingin' it" and "the tooty fruity" drinks which were both good! "the wingin' it" was tart and sour from the lime but had the perfect balance of sweetness from the coconut milk. meanwhile the "tooty fruity" was heavy on the lychee flavor but the sweetness did well to balance the lime. overall, it was yummy and ill definitely find myself coming back! read more

This is the most refreshing drink I've had in a long time! Although it started dumping rain as soon as I took this picture, one sip from my Lucker lychee lime tea and I was back in summer. Limes are cut, smashed, and mixed to order and staff were very friendly and informative when I asked how long the teas stayed fresh in the fridge because I knew after one taste that I needed to stock up. Although I fell in love with the Lucker, they have so many flavor options that I am excited to try next time I stop by! Next time you're in NE, don't miss out on this small but delicious new tea spot! read more

A cute little walk up window where you order your delicious and refreshing tea! The Wingin' It is the perfect blend of creamy from the sweetened coconut milk and fresh zing from the smashed limes. Would recommend! The Tooty Fruity retains that strong oolong tea flavor alongside its tangy lime accompaniment. I would definitely come back again when I'm in the area! :) They even have stamp cards; buy 10 cups, get one free. read more

Absolutely wonderful small business! Drinks are great! (Open-Close) The summer Thai street ice cream roll is great! (6-9) Highly suggest visiting this place :) I'm definitely addicted! The service is also wonderful. All the employees I've met have been nice even when they've got a busy day! The Ambiance of their shop in and out (when they have their service window open) is very cute and nice. I definitely enjoy them both. They set up very well! read more
The service is so so so sweet and so are their drinks! Our cashier had the cutest green star clips and we chatted them up for so long. The lime pulps in each drink is such a nice pop (like nature's boba). This is my second time visiting and I can't wait to go back again! Also their merch is so cute. read more
First off - the team here rocks! Great customer service and they let us sample before ordering. The drinks are made to order and you can even add boba to it! I got the passionate tea with strawberry popping boba. The jasmine flavor packs a floral punch that is complemented well with the sour lime, sweet boba combo. I can't wait to bring family here when they come visit. It's a cute little space. No room to sit, but grab a beverage and enjoy the beautiful PDX weather! 10/10 read more
I was so excited to happen upon this place! All the limeades are around $7, hand smashed and delicious! They offered samples to help us make up our mind, so service was super kind. Storefront is clean and well thought out! All of the branding designs were made by the owners niece which I just find so cute. All pumped they have a punchcard system. 10/10 I can't wait to try more flavors! read more
