DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS NOR ANY OTHER BUSINESS OF ROBERT~! BEWARE, he does have more than one optical place of business~! If I were to have written this review 3 or 4 years ago I would have praised this place and the owner; however, all too often, with success, owners forget where they started from and lose their wonderful personality and caring attributes they once had. About 2 years ago, we went again to this place of business as we were LOYAL. There was a 'manager' named DAVE who worked for Robert at this time. He was very arrogant, rude, disrespectful, condenscending... Anyways, he was above all a SALESMAN, who could care less about the customer. We were very taken aback that Robert was at 'his other business he opened up' and should have WALKED OUT THEN AND THERE, but we were loyal to Robert and it WAS his business. We purchased 1 pair of Gucci glasses for our son and a pair of Calvin Klein , also a pair of glasses and sun glasses for my husband, and a pair of glasses and vogue glasses for myself with invisible bi focals.......YOU DO THE MATH. My son's glasses were perfect. My one pair of glasses were great and the other pair actually broke within a month as the frame had been tightened and tightened to try to get it to fit my head and now that I look on back on it, Dave kept going back in the room and trying to tighten them and obviously these frames were defected from the beginning. My husband's glasses were great but the sun glass lens popped out after 2 days. Upon looking more carefully, the screw appeared lose so he tightened it screw that held the lens in. Again, the lens popped out and the screw came out completely. Upon better inspection, the lens was not cut to the correct size and it was causing stress on the screw and that is why it kept coming lose. IT IS VERY EASILY SEEN THAT THE LENS DOES NOT FIT when it is pointed out where the size is wrong. I can't explain it but you can see where the grove does not fit up and into the lens. BECAUSE WE LIKED ROBERT and were so taken by his seemingly 'old school' ways and very customer oriented we did not take these glasses back,not my husband's nor mine. PLUS we didn't want to have to deal with 'dominating dave'. This yearit was Robert who was working so we went in to order a pair of glasses for myself. I couldn't find a pair I liked as good as my old vogue frames, so the wonderful lady there offered to get new lens put in my existing frames and she could order an other pair of frames similar to ones I loved. I agreed I needed 1 pair of glasses to stay by the bedside and 1 good pair but I wanted the both to be of quality and comfort. MONEY WAS NOT AN ISSUE. I just loved the frames I had. The wonderful lady working and Robert looked at my frames as I wanted to ensure they were still good enough to use again. My husband decided that he would bring in his sun glasses and show Robert what Dave had given him. The lady knew right away what was wrong. It was NEVER about money back it was just to inform Robert as to who he had working as a manager of his store and what they had given us and to see if the lens could be cut down.We just wanted to bring it to Robert's attention as to what NON quality work that was leaving his store under Dave's management. Apparently Dave does not work there any longer. Good. But own up to the poor workmanship and poor attitude this past employee passed on to your once very loyal customers. When Robert was done with the clients he was helping he then came to me. The lady informed him of the problem and Robert ignored what she had said and said the problem was that the screw was missing, she and I both pointed out the lens and how it was clearly not cut to the right size thus not allowing the screw to be fully screwed in and once pointed out anyone can see the lens is too big.Robert giggled and said they lasted 2 years and made me feel petty for bringing them in.We didn't come there to bring these glasses in, we came to order new glasses for myself and since he had the defective glasses in the car he wanted Robert to see what Dave had done, SIMPLE AS THIS. Robert was reluctant and a changed rude business man. I took back the glasses and told him that I would inform everyone I could about his new attitude towards customers and that he had become nothing more than a SALESMAN caring about dollars instead of his customers. He was very uncharacteristically smug and dismissing of me. I BELIEVE IT WAS BECAUSE HE WAS UNAWARE THAT I WAS ORDERING ANOTHER PAIR OF FRAMES.He thought I was just replacing my lens and no MONEY WAS BEING MADE.He has become a SALESMAN and $ was made off of frames. He should have acknowledged Dave's mistake and apologized and fixed it. Simple as that. HE IS NOW JUST ANOTHER OWNER WHO WANTS YOUR $ AND DOESN'T CARE ABOUT HIS CUSTOMERS.HE HAS CHANGED.DO NOT SUPPORT HIS BUSINESS.
