Lean Bean was a small stand that typically does drive through, but my group walked up (not knowing this) and they were more than happy to serve us regardless. Don't plan on eating there since they don't have seating, but there's a little shopping plaza right next to it that might have other places to check out and chill while you eat. We came on a Saturday morning after a hike with a group of 5 people and didn't really have any trouble ordering! The food itself was very refreshing, and honestly I like my acai to be pretty thick and theirs definitely was. The flavors were rich and I though the portion sizes were fair; getting the bowl with peanut butter added a lot to the flavor - or at least gave an additional flavor to alternate in every now and then. I'd definitely like to come back and try some of the other menu items if I'm ever in the area! read more

Unfortunately the time I came here the espresso machine was broken so I couldn't order coffee like I originally wanted to. Instead I got an acai bowl. I enjoyed the peanut butter and toppings but the actual acai was soooo sweet and an icy consistency. It felt very cheap and not good quality but the price was not cheap. I don't recommend the acai bowl from here but I might go back to see if I like the coffee read more

Came here for a quick coffee run based on the reviews i seen, and man, was I disappointed. The drinks sounded so good, but when we received our drinks, half of them were all curdled up. Maybe it was because we got ice coffee instead of hot? We ordered the drinks exactly as they were with no subs. & they forgot to make one of our drinks. Service was nice and friendly, though. Have had two bad experiences, came right now for one more try. Pulled up at 3:30 and were told "we are only doing açaí bowls today." What?! Aren't you a coffee place too? First time everything we tried to order they didn't have ingredients for. The woman told us their deliveries are Tuesday, we could come back. You'd rather lose business than run to the market? Second time they were able to make my drink, and it was a horrible, tasteless waste of money. Today was the last time. If you care about your customers at all, do better. The pitaya bowl was standard and tasty, nothing extraordinary but still good. My latte tastes nothing like pumpkin. Biggest issue is they are not always open during posted hours with no signage saying hours changed or otherwise an issue. The blended pistachio drink is amazing. Pistachio is a hard to find flavor for coffee and hit or miss when you find it. The ladies we have encountered working their are nice and quick. Weird little quirk is they make your drink and give it to you before you pay, personally I prefer paying first. read more

We have been coming the the lean bean for years. 1st thing my son wanted after long visit to children's. Get in line 3rd car in line. The staff call me wave for me to pull forward to into the next line on the left. A car pulls right up. I tell the girl at the window other gilr told me to pull up. I get a very condescending response "yeah the other way around" pull out and get in the other line. Try to explain... sorry wrong way. I mean we will still take your order but pull out. I was asked to pull up?? Shrugged her shoulders. Worst customer service. I was in no way trying to disrupt the order of things. Then get told to get to the back of line. Wow the attitude. Not the first time but this time speechless to say the least. I'll take my business to the Kaffee Meister. Had a great experience with great staff. Will not be returning to the Lean Bean. With how many other coffee shops there are in the area, you'd think that the lean bean would want to exceed expectations with their açaí bowl. Unfortunately, for $6, the amount of açaí they give in their tiny plastic bowl is not generous. The granola is delicious but takes up half of the bowl. The acai does resemble the typical sweet, brand acai that is common, but the price is not as expensive as other acai bowls and the toppings were generous. Love, love, love Lean Bean! The acai bowls are so good. You can get them with or without peanut butter. The toppings are fresh and yummy. You can get it with bananas, strawberries, blueberries, coconut shavings, granola, and agave nectar. The acai is a great thick consistency. This is important to me. I do not like when I feel like I can drink my acai bowl like some other places. The staff is friendly and quick. It's a small drive up but you can drive up to both sides of the business. I have brought several people here even family from out of town. They all loved it and have added it to their must stops when they visit. read more

For what it is, they've got some good coffee. No, this isn't the type of spot that has a coffee artisan locked up in the basement carefully crafting the perfect coffee roasts (Go to Bird Rock for that). This is the type of place that you drive by when you've got five minutes to get to work but haven't yet gotten your caffeine fix.
