Came here for a quick coffee run based on the reviews i seen, and man, was I disappointed. The drinks sounded so good, but when we received our drinks, half of them were all curdled up. Maybe it was because we got ice coffee instead of hot? We ordered the drinks exactly as they were with no subs. & they forgot to make one of our drinks. Service was nice and friendly, though. Have had two bad experiences, came right now for one more try. Pulled up at 3:30 and were told "we are only doing açaí bowls today." What?! Aren't you a coffee place too? First time everything we tried to order they didn't have ingredients for. The woman told us their deliveries are Tuesday, we could come back. You'd rather lose business than run to the market? Second time they were able to make my drink, and it was a horrible, tasteless waste of money. Today was the last time. If you care about your customers at all, do better. In Santee waiting on my car and found this little spot for a quick coffee. We got a pitaya bowl and the seasonal pumpkin horchata latte. The pitaya bowl was standard and tasty, nothing extraordinary but still good. My latte tastes nothing like pumpkin. We have been coming the the lean bean for years. 1st thing my son wanted after long visit to children's. Get in line 3rd car in line. The staff call me wave for me to pull forward to into the next line on the left. A car pulls right up. I tell the girl at the window other gilr told me to pull up. I get a very condescending response "yeah the other way around" pull out and get in the other line. Try to explain... sorry wrong way. I mean we will still take your order but pull out. I was asked to pull up?? Shrugged her shoulders. Worst customer service. I was in no way trying to disrupt the order of things. Then get told to get to the back of line. Wow the attitude. Not the first time but this time speechless to say the least. I'll take my business to the Kaffee Meister. Had a great experience with great staff. Will not be returning to the Lean Bean. This little spot was good, but not great. It will satisfy an acai craving. I will keep looking for top notch açaí bowls.

Biggest issue is they are not always open during posted hours with no signage saying hours changed or otherwise an issue. The blended pistachio drink is amazing. Pistachio is a hard to find flavor for coffee and hit or miss when you find it. The ladies we have encountered working their are nice and quick. Weird little quirk is they make your drink and give it to you before you pay, personally I prefer paying first. read more

With how many other coffee shops there are in the area, you'd think that the lean bean would want to exceed expectations with their açaí bowl. Unfortunately, for $6, the amount of açaí they give in their tiny plastic bowl is not generous. The granola is delicious but takes up half of the bowl. Disclaimer: I'm not a coffee person! Service was quick and the employees were so sweet. I got a peanut butter acai bowl and it was really good. The acai does resemble the typical sweet, brand acai that is common, but the price is not as expensive as other acai bowls and the toppings were generous. The convenience of being able to get an acai bowl in a drive thru is definitely worth it and I will return just for this! read more

The cappuccino had no foam, all liquid, and was so weak I had to ask for a third shot so hopefully I could taste the espresso! Still tasted like watered down coffee. Love, love, love Lean Bean! The acai bowls are so good. You can get them with or without peanut butter. The toppings are fresh and yummy. You can get it with bananas, strawberries, blueberries, coconut shavings, granola, and agave nectar. The acai is a great thick consistency. This is important to me. I do not like when I feel like I can drink my acai bowl like some other places. The staff is friendly and quick. It's a small drive up but you can drive up to both sides of the business. I have brought several people here even family from out of town. They all loved it and have added it to their must stops when they visit. read more

Great customer service (with a smile, always!) and quick double sided drive thru for all your morning craving needs. Coffee is good and smoothies too! But açaí bowls are to die for. Excellent little coffee shop. I came here for the coffee and to get away from long lines, what I found was a great local coffee stand that serves excellent drinks of many varieties and delicious açaí bowls. If the drinks weren't enough reason to come back The workers here are very nice and personable. They do an excellent job with complicated orders. They do get busy at peak times but handle it well. Great acai bowls. Great coffee! I wanted a drive through coffee place that wasn't long like Starbucks. Their coffee is even better and reasonably priced. I like that the money goes towards a small business and the employees are always friendly. It is a small "mom and pop" operation, so have a little patience if you end up in a line. For what it is, they've got some good coffee. No, this isn't the type of spot that has a coffee artisan locked up in the basement carefully crafting the perfect coffee roasts (Go to Bird Rock for that). This is the type of place that you drive by when you've got five minutes to get to work but haven't yet gotten your caffeine fix. This is the type of place to visit when you're too lazy to get dressed out of your boxers but want that sweet acai pulp in or around your mouth.
