I asked for Sunday morning if possible or Monday if morning wasn't doable (I was told both days had openings in the email). My response was sent on Friday morning, I did not receive any communication back. Now, Monday, I called again to see what was going on. And got a voicemail saying they are now booked up until 10/22. The company advertises "professional, reliable, trained experts," but the service has been anything but that from day one. From the very first visit, the quality of work was disappointing. The man who arrived performed work that honestly could have been done by a teenager for a fraction of the cost, yet we were charged nearly $300. When I asked basic lawn care questions, his trained expert opinion was he wasn't sure. Completely unsure and unable to provide answers! They also promise advance notice before arriving, but they have failed to do so repeatedly. Crews have shown up as late as 8PM on a Saturday without any communication. Most concerning, while we were out of town, they SOMEHOW entered our LOCKED backyard without permission. We never authorized access, and entering a locked yard without consent is completely unacceptable and felt like a violation of our privacy. On top of that, the work itself is careless. Weeds along the sides are ignored, grass clippings are left piled around the house. For the amount they charge, the service is nowhere near worth it. This company requires full payment for the entire season upfront, but when we tried to cancel due to poor service and requested a refund since they would not be completing a full season worth of services, we were told "sorry wish we could help you, but the money has already gone to operations". Despite multiple requests, I have yet to receive documentation supporting the alleged "verbal no refund would be issued agreement". To make matters worse, during one of my calls, I overheard another customer expressing similar frustrations with the company's service!! Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere. The HOA took pictures four (4) days after the landscape services were done. On JCB's initial walkthrough I had pointed out as in-scope for the project the weeds on the perimeter. I should mention we allowed JCB to use their proprietary blend of weed killer instead of the Captain Jack's Deadweed Treatment I purchased. Alex told me she blended her own, and offered to return and re-treat if it didn't kill the weeds. She did return and do another treatment. I was happy that she did this, but TBH I couldn't tell how effective it was. Unfortunately the perimeter weeds appear to have been left untreated OR they were treated but the treatment didn't work. I texted JCB and showed them the message from landlord. No response. I texted with the HOA notice. No response. I texted saying we were going to need a better weed solution. No response. I texted requesting an estimate to re-treat. (Note that I didn't request this work for free). No response. My phone indicated the texts were received and read, so why no response? Weed removal is a beast. They grow back, I get it. But I shouldn't receive a notice from the HOA four days after spending $980 on landscaping services! In light of the above events, the value we received from JCB in exchange for cost drops considerably.

What a *HUGE RELIEF* it was to find Marcos & Orlando of M Brothers Services! They were a lifesaver…read morefor me, in October, after I wasted 40-billable hours of my time on two other fence & gate companies (see those two reviews), for the first design-oriented home improvement project on my house, only for it to be a huge let-down & time-suck, and my being left & abandoned by the first company with a beautiful, unstained fence - not at all ready for winter/snow &/or spring/rain, and with a gate that was not HOA-compliant. Enter Marcos & Orlando - to save the day! And save me from my nightmare HOA. ;) I called Marcos & Orlando in a panic on Mon 10/23/23 ~4pm, and they were even willing to come rescue me that night, while working in Commerce City, if I had insisted. They are that loyal & hard-work oriented. Once we talked the job through, I realized what the second company had told me, about it only taking a couple/few hours to stain the gate & fence was untrue, and really this was an all day, or at least an all morning, job. Luckily, Marcos & Orlando were free the next day, Tue 10/24/23, so they planned to arrive first thing at my home in Denver from their home-base in Brighton. They gave me an ETA that evening, and met it, checking in with me via text the next morning, arriving within their time window, on time. I also love that they wanted to schedule an in-person consultation - to take measurements - with me, before doing the work, initially, when they replied to my Yelp project, as they were the first - and only - of all three companies, to ask me for measurements, and offer to assess the job & give me an in-person estimate, before beginning the work. Had the first company done this, like I'd hoped & wanted, we never would've encountered so many issues, in the first place. They completed the job in something like roughly 6-hours, proving the second company also didn't estimate time any better than the first, so had they arrived the day before I hired Marcos & Orlando, we would've ran out of daylight. Luckily, with M Brothers, they completed the job by early/mid afternoon, with enough time for me to QA it, as we made final touch-ups. They also remembered to unhook my hose, after using it, which was very considerate, which the first company failed to do, even after I asked. And they thoughtfully parked on the street - vs. in the alley / fire lane - like some of my neighbors' contractors do / have done, which blocks me in & prevents me from using/leaving my garage, or my boyfriend from entering/parking in my garage. This proves, once again, how conscientious, thoughtful, considerate, and detail-oriented Marcos & Orlando are, and what a pleasure they are with whom to do business. In addition to all the above, they also came back again the next day, on Wed 10/24/23, to again save my day - this time from the HOA! A very nosy neighbor had reported my gate to the HOA, and I was made aware of new rules & regulations that my HOA had not published/shared on their iOS version of their website, so I learned late in the day on Tue 10/23/23 that my new gate was not HOA compliant. I shared the HOA rules & regulations with Marcos & Orlando, we made a plan for them to acquire the new materials, and they returned the next day to fix the gate, and make it compliant. I haven't been this happy with a contracting company for awhile, after owning this house, so I will definitely be saving their name & number, to hire them again, when I have more work in their areas of expertise!
