Cannot recommend the Lautner Compund enough! The micro-wedding package they offer is such an amazing option and we're so grateful we found this gem. Tracy and her team do an amazing job and make the process so easy. No wedding planning stress for us. We had such a special night that we'll never forget.

Front of the compound on Christmas Eve.

This is a fantastic little oasis of just 4 units just 20 minutes from downtown Palm Springs. If you are looking for a nice quiet stay in an architecturally significant compound, this is it. The compound is 75 years old and is comprised of 4 units, outdoor common area with seating, dining table and gas grill. There is also a small plunge pool for use dueling the warmer months. Given the age of the property and exposure to sun, sand and the desert heat, it requires constant upkeep to maintain. Tracy, the owner, is a wonderful host and super accommodating. Her and her business partner have done an amazing job of renovating and updating the property. The grounds and landscaping are beautiful and each unit is quaint, quiet and comfortable. Beautifully decorated, each unit is well stocked and well cared for. We stayed over the holidays and found the property to be exactly what we were looking for: small, quiet and exceedingly comfortable. I most highly recommend The Lautner Compound for a romantic getaway.

I am beyond happy that we chose The Lautner Compound for our wedding. Let me start by saying that Tracy is the absolute best. From day one when we wanted to go see the property, Tracy was very enthusiastic and super kind and sweet. When we met her, it was an instant connection. She was happy to show us around and provided us with her packages. We opted for the micro wedding package and boy am I glad we did. The thought of getting married was so overwhelming because we didn't know where to begin. When we met with Tracy, she made it so simple for us, we just needed to make a few selections, show up and enjoy ourselves. We worked with a fantastic and sweet florist Kate, a professional chef who made exquisite food (everyone couldn't stop talking about the delicious peach salad) and our photographer Benny who worked his magic and delivered some unbelievable pictures. The venue itself was just breathtaking and more than we could have ever imagined. In short, I'm extremely grateful that we had the opportunity to get married in such a special place with those we love and care for the most and I want to thank Tracy and her entire team for making it happen. I can't stress enough how wonderful the experience was and if anyone is reading this wondering if you should consider this place, I say without a doubt you should 100% call Tracy and make it happen because you wont regret it!

AWESOME venue for our friends nuptials!!! located in desert hot springs, about a 10min uber from Palm Springs, this locale is quite inconspicuous in a residential area. the place is deceivingly large with a wide open area dedicated to group gatherings and lounging. plenty of space for upwards of 200 people. there is a separate area for the bungalow rooms. the staff here was very accommodating and available to pick up after the guests and facilitate any other needs. the owner herself helped me out with the wifi so I can get ahold of uber. super cool and chic spot.

This is the not-so-secret gem of the desert! The perfect presentation of the sought after mid century modern look of 50's Palm Springs. Tracy the owner has the most immaculate taste it's mind boggling. I own a catering company that works at The Lautner all the time, and have (in my humble opinion) a good eye for design, and this is the best venue in the valley. Also, for vendors, it's a great place to work. If you're considering it for your wedding I would say book it before the date is gone!

Gift from the host due to our room being changed last minute due to unforeseen maintenance issues

I can not praise this establishment enough!!!! 5 star all the way. Exceptional customer service. Our host went out of our way after our room had to be changed the day of arrival due to unforeseen circumstances beyond their control. She left a beautiful gift that was beyond necessary and extremely appreciated. My husband and I needed this get away for many reasons and it exceeded our expectations. The indoor outdoor lay out is refreshing and renewing. The architecture is mesmerizing and peaceful. You feel like your in your own private Palm Springs getaway secluded yet open , incredible!! We can not WAIT to come back. Thank you to the management of this beautiful property for going above and beyond

This place is a gem. Tastefully reworked John Lautner Motel is a must for any enthusiast and people who appreciate a highly stylized and piece full experience away from home. A nice touch are all the John Lautner books and documentaries as well as a very well curated movie and music selection in the room. Thank you for a great stay!

We love this Hotel originally built in 1947, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright protege John Lautner, recently remodeled/updated and very well done with new redwood inside and out. Heath ceramic tiles in the bathrooms.

It's hidden in the hills in a residential neighborhood and looked rather small from the outside. But as you enter, it opens up to a very nice, open pool and garden oasis. There aren't many rooms, as it is a more intimate type Resort. All of them are ground level and surround the main pool areas. I stayed in a suite which had a private patio with a stone tub so you can have your own personal mineral bath. The room was very clean, not a lot of amenities, but it did have a small kitchenette and a very cool record player complete with records to play. There are three mineral pools. One is smaller with jets and has a higher temperature than the other two. There's another bigger one that serves as a swimming pool with a lower temperature. And the third one is enclosed with a medium temperature. As you walk further through the garden and down some stone steps, you will reach a small spa that has various rooms for treatments. There is also a dry sauna, showers, and an infrared sauna on the outside. This one was my favorite because the glass doors face the garden. It was very Zen. The massage therapist were very good. Thank you to Landon and Andrew for that. I really appreciated the intimacy of the Resort and all of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Mel was especially helpful and kind. I left the Resort feeling very relaxed and at peace. I will definitely return.

Why did I choose The Spring Resort? I LOVE the heat and I LOVE hot springs! The resort is not huge but has three mineral pools, a large open air pool, medium size dipping pool and smaller hot tub. All naturally hot and restoring. The rooms are peaceful without TVs but still have WiFi available. Robes and slippers are also in the rooms along with a mini fridge that was in the closet. The pools and towels are available 24/7. When we visited average outside temp was 110 degrees. We didn't lay out like lizards during the day and opted for cooler quiet late night relaxing pool time. We had the pools to ourselves and it was so peaceful! The medium size pool that was indoors was the perfect temp for me and I enjoyed it very much! They offer a light breakfast option of healthy cereals, oats, hard boiled eggs, toast with juice, tea, or coffee. The resort is very chill and peaceful. We noticed a bachelorette/birthday gathering during our stay. They were a bit loud, slightly obnoxious, but I guess that is what happens when you gather a group of girls for a spa day. The resort also offers day passes to enjoy the hot springs. We were surprised one morning to find guests outside our room already sprawled out on the chaise lounge chairs. We didn't mind since we were going to spend the day out exploring the downtown area. So claim your spots early! The staff is friendly and helpful. The office has items for sale to enhance your stay like mineral soaps, lotions, bath items, and swimwear just in case you forgot to pack them. They have parking right outside of the resort and street parking. The best part for us, they offer electric vehicle charging, a single spot, worked out perfectly for us! Score! 2025: 57

My friend and I were beyond happy with the beautiful and quiet setting. We enjoyed a superbly private stay, as it's off season. Most people come to stay when the weather is cooler. There are three mineral water pools, one in an open sided, Beautifully constructed, covered patio. One wall was river rock. Another wall was tiled seating that was cool and comfortable to sit on. I thoroughly enjoyed the sauna the morning we left, before breakfast. Sweating for 30" is relaxing if you haven't tried it yet. Breakfast options included Avocado, tomato, hard boiled eggs, bagels, croissants, fresh cooked waffles, cold, cereal, yogurt, half-and-half, cream cheese, coffee, tea, and I'm sure more I did not note. We breakfasted I'm a lovely little patio, surrounded by birds and plants. A neighbor cat visited but did not engage. There are daybeds along the pool and a few under the trees in the patio in between the row of rooms. I believe there were a total of 14 rooms. Each room has cool tiled floors and a a fresh king bed. Ours had a lovely bathtub with the hottest shower I think I've ever had. There are imported Italian soap, shampoo, and conditioner (that left my hair looking very pretty). There were two wonderful robes in the boudoir. I wore mine too and fro as I am born to spa and was in seventh heaven. Our room opened up onto a large patio balcony from which we watched the sunrise and the sunset over the valley in front of us. The amenities are open 24 hours. The owner, Mrs C is hospitable and engaging. She has Italian soaps and such for you to purchase, as well as soda pop and wine. Time and money went into planning this spa. The quality imported furniture and tile, the red padded patio furniture. Fountains, outdoor gas fireplaces, everywhere one looks is loving details. And... nobody under 21 allowed

First of all the owner's name is Camillia and she is actually the person working the desk. She has a great deal of pride in her beautiful boutique hotel and she wants all of her guests to have the best possible experience. Her personal touch is definitely felt. The property is absolutely beautiful and well cared for. A big plus is that the jacuzzis and pool are open 24 hours. They have a semi-indoor hot spring jacuzzi that is very large and has a really nice ambiance (especially at night) with the lanterns on the wall. They also have another hot spring jacuzzi outdoors by the pool and it is amazing to soak in this jacuzzi and watch the sun set over the mountains across the valley - Truly a million dollar view! Their pool is luke-warm and so nice to take a dip after soaking in the jacuzzis. And if you plan on spending the day on their pool deck they have lots of nice cushioned pool lounge chairs and 5 outdoor beds. There are also tables you can sit at and have a meal or play games, etc. Our room was very comfortable and luxurious. I love the dark wood, heavy curtains and Italian tile! The bed was very comfortable and we slept great. Tip: they have a couple of rooms that have private outdoor patios overlooking the valley and mountains but they don't offer these rooms on Priceline, Expedia or other travel service. Camellia said they only book these rooms directly from the hotel website or by calling. They also have a nice area for massages & treatments. We didn't get any treatments but I believe they have independent massage therapists come in when you book treatment. But it is a really nice spa / treatment area that rivals some of the best spas I've been to.

It was also very quiet there. I think most of the other rooms were filled, but since it was a small place, we still could always get a prime lounge chair and the whirlpool spa area was never crowded. As others have mentioned some of the facilities are a little worn and run down. The saunas were old. The game area was also pretty old, but the everything was clean and looked after. It was a weekend and I should've known better. I've stayed at the sister hotel during the week last time and it was fine but it was back in March. This is my first time at this hotel. They both are quite a bit older and could use some serious updating but it's clean in the rooms and this one would probably be comfortable and tolerable during the week and/or different time of year. Very good air conditioning, beds are ok. Descent space in the room. There are lots of gaps in the curtains which at night make it uncomfortable with people walking by your room constantly on the wrap around balcony. The water spit the entire time startling me. Some serious pipe bleeding needs to happen (?) It's party central on the weekends. If you don't need to sleep, don't mind drunk people arguing, loud music and the room bouncing you around as people jump up and down wrestling in the room above you so it feels like a constant earthquake then you'd be fine. There are also people walking/running by your room all hours of the night on the wrap around balcony which also causes the room to shake while they talk loud until the early hours of the morning. Why these individuals don't use the front door and obviously leave their sliding door unlocked is well... ridiculous. I cannot recommend staying here on a weekend even though the cafe is good and all the hotel staff are friendly, kind & professional, there is only so much they can really do about the nuisance of guests. I'm sure they get complaints by unsuspecting patrons to the partiers here often. There are also soo many kids I don't want to even think about going in any of the pools. The kind front desk host would have gladly moved me to the sister hotel but when there are long days ahead and rest is a priority, I opted to eat the money and stay somewhere I knew would be quiet. If you do venture to come here and need the downtime in the pools and to rest, don't do it on a weekend and only on off seasons. Their sister hotel doesn't have the wraparound balcony which is a plus. Easy on/off road exits, easy to find and inexpensive. Parking in the hotel guest parking lot can be an issue as there aren't enough spaces and guests can get nasty about it. The pools are open 24/7.
