Went there a few years ago and they had Hamm's. Waitress was very helpful. Nice deck by the river in summer.

The vibe on a Friday or Saturday night is high energy, happening, and buzzing with lots of the friendly locals of the Joliet area. All of the bartenders are amazingly FUN, FRIENDLY, and quite TALENTED. Especially my main go to bartender named "Danny". Everyone loves Danny, he's the best and the nicest guy ever. Come for the music played via "YouTube" music videos played on a big flat screen TV by request of the customers, the AMAZING HANDMADE CRAFT COCKTAILS, GREAT CRAFTY FOOD DISHES, and the overall ambiance of a1920's speakeasy yet situated in somewhat modern times.

Tin Roof is one of those unassuming places that most people just pass up. For sure it's not fancy. You might be able to catch live music. Cheap and rustic is an accurate way to talk about this bar. It's located outside a small town on the way to Starved Rock. The inside is bigger than it looks and apparently is a great place to listen to local bands or whoever. However most come to get boozed up and complain. It's about $5 for a basic mixer. Whiskey and whatever. Food is also pretty basic. Mostly fried things. It's about $5 to get a basket of Pretzel Bites. These are great to munch on between sips. Food menu is pretty uninteresting to be honest. There's also other fried things like jalapeño poppers and mini tacos. Got a few cheap cocktails and okay munchies out of it. It's located on Route 34 a bit west of Somonauk. The food here actually is shitty but whatever.

I was surprised by the food in this place When you walk in, the place looks clean. Nothing seemed sticky. Seems like it is kind of a dive bar on the outside but when you walk in, I don't get that feeling at all. It looks like this place has a bunch of regulars as everyone knows everybody's name. You get us two weirdos from out of town but we didn't feel uncomfortable at all. We ordered cheese curds, a shrimp wrap and a pork tenderloin sandwich. Cheese curds are definitely real and not frozen. Some places you get frozen curds not here. The tenderloin sandwich had a Thai sauce which even without the sauce would have been a good sandwich. The sauce made the sandwich great. My wife had a shrimp wrap and that was also delicious. The fries had this pepper seasoning that were making them hit the spot. The waitress/bartender was pretty attentive. It was slow when we got here but told me the tenderloin was good and she was correct. She also kept our drinks full. Plus, it is just her and watching her now as the place got more crowded she is not messing around. The prices are very reasonable too. We are walking out spending 50 dollars with 5 drinks and an appetizer. That is not bad at all. If we got bottles, we would have saved more. I would recommend coming to this place. If we get a house in this area, we will be back. This place needs a better rating than 3 stars and that's why I'm rating this as I sit at the restaurant.
