When this business was The Buttertart Factory, it was amazing. I'm not quite sure what's going on,…read morebut the standards have fallen drastically while the prices have climbed. It's very disappointing. For a while, I lived for their apple fritters. In May of 2024, I discovered that they no longer put apples in their apple fritters -- perhaps as a cost-saving measure. My family purchased half a dozen fritters, which turned out to be nothing but large slabs of dough with a cinnamon glaze. In June, all varieties of fritters (thankfully) appear to have been removed from the menu. The butter tarts, which once had a flaky pastry and an insanely good, buttery filling, have become worse than the generic tarts found in a No Frills supermarket. Clearly, costs are clearly being cut. Worst of all, the location (in Druro) has added an extremely pricey take-out stand. One of my friends paid a whopping 16 dollars for a chicken burger. No fries, no drink: just a piece of lettuce, a tomato, a gob of mayo and (an admittedly large) slice of fried chicken on a bun. I believe that the owners see this as an easy money grab, as they serve those commuting to Bancroft and back during cottage season. You'd think that for 16 dollars a pop for a chicken burger the owners would provide more than an outhouse to customers. You'd also hope that they'd make sure the outhouse was serviced often enough to prevent feces from piling to the rim. Nope. For obvious reasons, I will be ending my patronage of this establishment.

My son loves the cinnamon buns! Not much gluten free wise, they bring in gluten free tarts which…read moreare delicious of course just be nice to see more options. Friendly staff always.

Born and raised in Toronto all my life I would pass by here, even when we were kids but somehow…read morenever got to stop here. Ffwd as a adult, I've also passed by here many times but never stopped in. FINALLY WE GOT TO GO TODAY, AND I AM OVER THE MOON! Its nothing like I expected - thinking its a shop w.a small counter and offerings of freshly baked pies and apple-y stuff, IT IS SO MUCH MORE! almost like a mini BUC-EES [awesome American truck stop/gas station]. The Big Apple has a petting zoo [we didn't check it out], a mini putt golf course, a Christmas Market with several vendors [fresh pressed juices, teas, gems/stones, handmade jewelry and arts/crafts], and INSIDE the main area is the bakery, gift/souvenirs, food & food stands just outside too [burgers, fish n chips, blooming onion, etc], and everything smells like apple! Theres several assorted freshly baked pies and goods, hot and cold beverages, something sweet, savory and sour! All tastebuds can find something here! Assorted condiments ofc made with apple! A cool place to check out w.your family and friends. Also very accessible without steps/barriers. Looks like you can climb up the big apple n lookout, but that is ny stairs only i think...

If fall was turned into an establishment, this would be it. You can find apple flavoured everything…read morehere, from classic fritters and pie to BBQ sauce and wine. Their prices on their goods are not the worst too! The petting zoo on the property is great as well, many kind and respectful farm animals for you to pet. Definitely stop by if you're driving east on the 401!
