Chuck and Sean and the rest of the crew from Labor Guys were great. I called around to every moving company in the area to have an extremely heavy and large marble table moved from a second floor condo to my first floor ranch across town. Everyone quoted me incredibly ridiculous rates to move this one item. Granted I knew the job needed 4 strong guys to move it but upwards of $1k I was quoted. Nope. Considering I was paying less than 1/4 of that price to buy the actual table from someone. From the get go, they answered their phones(several companies on yelp did not) and quoted very very reasonable rates and were friendly to work with. There was quite a bit of back and forth with the scheduling to do the move but I blame that on the holidays being the same week. Once we finally set the day for the move, the 4 guys including the owner showed up in the moving truck ready to go. They moved the top and base of the table in no time flat but were extra careful not to do any damage to the table or the surrounding walls or area they were moving it from and to. They were observant of any defects or damage already on the table and actually pointed out a corner of the base of the table was chipped off and had been glued on but came off when they went to pick up the table. No big deal but great they pointed it out before they moved it. I give them great credit for hauling that heavy table and the base down 20 inside steps going down from second floor and then another 15 outdoor steps going down. Not an easy task but they executed it well. They made sure to wrap the table top and base up and secure it properly in the truck for transport. When we arrived at my house, they were just as careful bringing in the base and making sure it was where I wanted it and then bringing in the table top. They were friendly and cool and actually ended up knowing my friend who had met me at my house to help just in case. They knew each other from high school. Small world. Anyways, the price was exactly what was quoted no games about time or mileage or anything like the other companies. And I ended up tipping them on top of it because I was so pleased with them. Highly recommend booking the labor guys if you need to have items especially heavy items moved. A++ read more

Unreliable. They were supposed to be here at 9 to move my father in law into his assisted living facility. They never showed up or bothered to call. Their number goes straight to voice-mail. A complete waist of time. read more

We used the labor guys to move my parents from their mobile home into an apartment. I cant speak highly enough on the work that these gentlemen did. They worked from the minute they arrived straight up until the minute the left. They were a pleasure to work with and very kind hearted. They even jumped to my moms side to help her when she fell on some stairs! If you need help moving stuff i would definitely recommend these people. read more

I needed some help to pack my moving truck. I spent hours mapping out the packing in order to fit everything in the truck. The two bozos I was sent ignored everything that I did. They repeatedly asked me should this or that go on the truck, and the many instances I said only if it would fit. Problem is, they made all that fit before all the furniture and large items were on the truck. They were more than happy to drive away with my lawn mower and my dryer which did not make it on the truck. I might have let that slide if it weren't for the fact that once I arrived I found they failed to both properly wrap and secure some of my furniture, so now I have a broken bed to deal with. They also took 6 hours doing a 3-hour job. I have zero recourse, since I am now halfway across the country. If you need some junk haulers, I'm sure they do great work. Do not hire this service to pack or move your belongings unless you like dealing with arrogant men who treat you like you're an idiot while doing a piss-poor job themselves. read more

Tried to use their services to no avail. They got hung up in Minneapolis so did not show for my job in Waukegan (10/19/2018). Agreed to try again the next day (10/20/2018 and no one showed. No calls or anything and could get no response from them, either. All calls and texts went unanswered. Both days I had to pay a project manager to be there for them. We hired them to move a HUGE entertainment system within our house. They were super careful and did a great job. We had called several companies and all wanted a two hour minimum fee to come to our house for twenty minutes. These men charged us for the job and we were so impressed we gave them huge tips and still saved money versus the two hour minimum places. DO NOT USE THE LABOR GUYS. They consistently show up late, don't respond to calls, only part of the crew works quickly, and they overcharge for their labor. We hired Sean's crew for a move and cleaning. I ended up doing the lion's share of the cleaning because Sean and his brother were too busy chatting, using their phones and goofing off. We paid for a lunch break, during which we paid for the food, but they didn't have enough respect to charge any less for the working hours during which certain laborers were not working. Using 'The Labor Guys' for my recent move was the best decision I have made in a long time! They showed up promptly and were very courteous and friendly. These guys really went above and beyond to exceed my expectations and make my move as pleasant as possible. All of my furniture was well taken care of and loaded/unloaded with the utmost respect to my belongings. The company really appreciates their customers and the guys worked hard until the job was done. Oh! And did I mention their speed!? They loaded my 14 foot U-Haul to the brim in roughly an hour and a half! It was sooooo nice to have all of my stuff moved to my new place without having to listen to the whining of my friends like in the past! Also, this has GOT to be the most affordable company in the city. I live in Lakeview and they traveled out to me with no problem. I would and will use them for every move to come!
