We stopped over after dinner at Degedio's and enjoyed a drink outside playing Battleship. There must be a rotating food truck schedule as there was one when we arrived but didn't take advantage as we had just eaten. The service was decent. The bartender did not go out of his way to describe the NA drink choices, and pointed to a board which was disappointing. Additionally, there was no extra offering for a cup or ice after I purchased a kombucha which came in a can. Lastly, the exterior picnic tables look like they could use some maintenance. Note: the Battleship game was missing a few pieces. Might be nice to do a sweep of games prior to grabbing.

All right. Review # 500 I believe. Been saving this place to review just for this occasion…read more I first started coming here when they were in their original location off of California, just south of the Parkway. A small humble place with a single pisser and a crumbling parking lot. 612 started there, then 56, and then Broken Clock. My favorite of the 3 is easily 56 Brewing. I'm a fan of the barrel aged brews and this they do well. In regards to other beers, see other reviews. One of the great things that I like is Dad's Basement Beer. It's an easy sipping beer, not so high octane like you see at other places. I'm here multiple times a month as the beers and vibe of the place are decent. But the big draw for me is pinball and I love that they allow Darryl Anderson a place to have his machines. My boy Tone Job and I are regulars. So much so that Tone even made the tables for in between the machines so you have a place to set your beer when you're playing. He even took care in making them reflective of the brewery decor too (he also made the ones at Falling Knife & Broken Clock). My favorite thing about this place? Thursday's when the W.E. Collective (Will Evans) is jamming. His music is so good and just adds to the pinball vibe. My wife and I even had our wedding reception here in the fall of 2023. It was so much fun. The staff helped us coordinate with a tent company and our food that we had catered. We wanted a casual, social event for our reception, and 56 Brewing delivered. You really need to check their calendar to see what is going on as there is so much that happens. From Vikes games, the occasional opera, stand up, paint your plate events, food trucks and more. 56 is really one of my favorite venues.

It's also a bit hectic navigating the area after close, with how tight the streets where and people including the city stopping in the middle of street where you can't pass them. ...ok mini parking rant over. The event itself was a great time. Part of the event was set up outside which was interesting as it started at 5pm and gets dark around 6:30-7. I got there shortly after 7 and it was pretty dark. Not much lighting outside and where there was lighting... so many bugs *sad face*. I've been to this brewery before when Broken Clock was here. I love the space still, industrial look and feel. They have pin ball machines!! I got a seltzer - Paloma seltzer. Wasn't my fav but looked like they had some pretty solid beers so I'd go back to check those out later on. On the other side of the brewery they had a stage with a DJ playing music. Also a fire pit outside. So much going on. Overall a fun time.

It's quite the different vibe from the previous brewery I was at today. UP had a taco truck out front and since I hadn't eaten in over 12 hours, and I love tacos, I picked up a couple. Fabulous tacos but I can't recall the name of the truck. Actually in posting my photos I see I got the name of the truck in a photo, Tacopolis! UP is kind of dark and quiet. I felt like I was in the library in Dracula's castle or something. It's cool but has a very different vibe than most breweries. I like it! I got a flight of four and then added a fifth because, well, me. And because UP has 27 beers on tap! I started with Lick It Up peaches and cream ale which had a nice peach flavor. Next was, well, I kinda forgot. I was sitting at the bar tasting beers and working on this review when a friendly gent started talking to me. So instead of doing the review we talked beers with the bartender. I'll just say EVERYTHING I tried here was really good. A few highlights were the Irish red (SWPFTD would approve), the blueberry cream stout, the chocolate cream stout, and the rauchbier. Under Pressure is brewing up some excellent beers. If you don't stop in and try them, well, you're wrong. Enough said... If anyone is a glutton for punishment, please, follow my brewery, and distillery, reviews from across the U.S. and beyond! https://www.yelp.com/collection/-8iscFkpiiCI563-FDfwGg and if anyone is wondering who SWPFTD is you will have to check out my review of Black Market Brewing Co in Temecula, CA to understand. Yes, you will need to read into it a little to get the joke but I have confidence in you! I hope my confidence is not misplaced.

Walking into the brew hall, we were immersed in medieval scenery with knight armor and weaponry positioned throughout brew hall. There was a really cool library with a wide assortment of books and some board games people could interact with. The vibes inside were very chill which was a huge plus. In terms of drinks, we were overwhelmed with how many options we could choose from and with how unique all of the flavors were. I decided to go with an 8 flight of beers as I couldn't narrow down a particular drink that caught my attention and thank goodness I went with that route. Out of the 8 beers I selected, I only truly liked 3 of the drinks. Some of the flavors I felt from the drinks that I didn't like reminded me of dish soap, sardines, and burnt wood (just to name a few). In terms of food, they had a food truck on site which had pretty good food and the overall staff were very nice. It's one of those places where I'm happy I came to experience the place, but isn't a top priority for me to make another visit.
