I parked in a small lot and all I saw was a pizza place and a homeless dude sitting outside of another faded storefront. I left my poster tubes in the car to make sure I was in the right place. As I walked up to the storefront with the homeless dude, a silver pony-tailed guy channeling Jeff Goldblum literally jumped out of nowhere from behind to confront me about the parking lot being for customers only. Didn't say who he was or even ask if I needed help. He assumed I was walking away down the street. I asked him how he didn't know I had posters to frame. He said because I was walking to the sidewalk. Well...the handwritten sign inside the shop did have an arrow pointing to go around to the street side to ring the bell! Guess he forgot his own sign. After a minor spat over his adamant disbelief that I actually had posters to frame, I walked back to my car and "magically" produced two poster tubes. He sighed and put his hands up..."ahhhh, man...well, you wanna come in?" I laughed and justifiably called him a ....... for losing $600+ in business for making assumptions, when instead of asking if I needed help he assumed I was going to some other store down the street. He then said "I'm not really taking on new customers anyway." Riiiiight. No bare walls is certainly barren of any brains.

My friend booked the tickets, so I thought we were only feeding goats, but we got a tour of the entire farm and got to interact with a lot of their rescues/residents there. The animals all appeared to be well taken care of and happy, which is the most important part. I 100% recommend buying a ticket and making the trip out to visit. Worth every penny :)

Rose Bridge is a sanctuary and working farm on land once owned by William Penn. Since 2013, the farm has become a 'forever home' for over 300 animals. Many of the animals are rescues from dairy farms, livestock auctions or other scenarios where they were at risk. They have several different activities, we opted for the Farm Fest, which combined several of the activities. The Farm Fest includes a mini farm animal husbandry tour, baby animal cuddling time, hands on craft activity, a beverage bar and an outdoor fire pit. It lasts about 2 hours. There were many parents there with children, but also adults like us by themselves. There are two times - 4-6 and 6:30-8:30. We went on the 4:00 tour. It was great! It was very interesting hearing how the animals came to the farm - it was so heartwarming to hear the stories of saving so many animals. However, I wasn't expecting the 'cuddling time' to be so much fun. We started with the goats - so friendly! They were nuzzling and 'pawing' us - I sat down and several came to me and wanted to be rubbed or held. I even had an opportunity to feed a baby goat its milk bottle! We interacted with pigs, sheep, a beautiful thoroughbred horse and a donkey! It was a very special experience! Afterwards we all went to a large barn and made crafts - specifically little planters we decorated, added dirt and seeds (large selection of flowers and vegetables seeds) to take home as a little souvenir. We had a dinner reservation so we left before the fire pit activity. Overall, it was a wonderful experience to be with these farm animals and to support such a worthwhile project.

The estate is quite vast, over 200 acres, and you get a glimpse of the vineyard from the terrace and tasting room. Their tasting room boasts high ceilings, with beautiful beams and lots of natural light coming through. As a red wine lover, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the Chardonnay and Rose. Their sauv blanc is crisp, and very fruit forward, and lingers a bit too long on the palate. However, it pairs perfectly with cheese. The star for me was the can franc, as it was beautifully balanced with medium body and tannins. Overall, I enjoyed every single wine and would absolutely buy a bottle. Great price too for bottles! The downside is that you can only buy bottles and $25 tastings, which is a bit high although the pours are generous. The tasting is a curated to include five of their pre-selected wines. I may have preferred to make my own selections; however, I wasn't disappointed.

Especially for families struggling with mental illness. They should stand by their mission and make sure that every family that works hard in their program moves on after the 2 years to secure stable housing and if a family doesnt secure stable housing, IFHA should help them get into another program that could help them instead of just throwing them back on the streets with no supports. Or if a family is working hard but still struggling in their program, IFHA should find out what the underlying issue is for why that family is struggling to complete their program and figure out how to better help them instead of giving up on that family, especially for mental illness families. And if IFHA fails a family, they should take accountability for their actions and apologize to that family for failing them and own up to their failure and try different strategies so they never fail another family ever again. That is how IFHA can improve My husband, son, and I was a family that was homeless and struggles with mental illness and entered IFHA's Hope Gardens Program in 2014. We worked really hard but struggled with their program and are proof that the executive director, Marsha and casemanager, Malika doesnt hold themselves accountable for when they fail to help a family succeed and complete their program and go on to stable housing. Instead they just kicked my family out and we were homeless again for 2 years after leaving Hope Gardens. Why my family was treated with such neglect and multiple acts of discrimination and put my family thru hell makes me really sad. Even though we struggled, we worked very hard and with all your affiliations and network, I know you could have helped us get proper supporting services and treatments for our mental illness in Montco. You didnt have to leave us out on the streets with no one in this County willing to help us. We are human beings too.
