The Comedy Cabaret is a small venue attached to the Ramada Inn right on the Blvd near Woodhaven. We went on a Saturday night and it was 15.00/person with a 2 drink minimum. It's not so much of a club but rather a small room right off the hotel bar. The room holds maybe 75 people if it's full but it was a light crowd when we were there---maybe 30 people tops. The comedy itself was a mixed bag. There were maybe 7 or 8 comedians leading up to 2 headliners. Of those 7 or 8, half were good the other half, not so much. One was so bad it was painful. He had a series of one-liners that were supposed to be witty but all of his "jokes" were met with deafening silence. And the small audience was kind of unruly at times---talking amongst themselves, using phones---rude behavior that the performers to their credit, took in stride. Simplee Dee and Bill Chaing were the headliners that evening and both were really funny and they were really appreciative of people coming out to support live comedy. If you're looking for upscale, look elsewhere but we enjoyed the show well enough that we would return again.

First, we were not informed when we made reservations, that this night was a fund raising event for a local soccer team. We were only told it was a special event and cover was $20. If we had known it was a fund raiser we would have skipped it. The audience were all people who were there for the fundraiser and they were pretty drunk and disruptive. Some walked out after getting into it with the comedians. Ugh, the comedians. They sucked. Horrible. Not funny. I don't know how else to say it. No Bueno! I have no idea how Chipps Cooney made it to the Season 5 quarterfinals of Americas Got Talent. If I ever run into Sharon Osbourne, Piers Morgan or Howie Mandel I'm gonna punch them in the face! Servers were no where to be found. We saw a waitress once and then she never came back to check on us the rest of the night. However, their policy is, you cannot go out to the bar and get food or drink to bring back in to the comedy club. If we went out to get waters and diet coke they would not let us back in. So, we sat for 90 minutes dying of thirst. Good thing the comedians weren't funny otherwise we might have gotten dehydrated from laughing.

A great group of comedians brought non-stop laughter & hysterical tears to my eyes. With that being said, comedy works itself needs some help; some sprucing up & somewhat of an overhaul to their menu. It has great possibilities - but without TLC this likely won't happen. The surrounding area isn't great & the customer base isn't upsc

He loves him and I thought this would be a great surprise. We arrived and got some great seats. Like normal venues there is a two drink minimum. However, the prices there are a little on the high side. $10 min for a glass of wine and $11 for liquor. And that's the cheap stuff. Show was supposed to start at 5pm. It started closer to 6pm. Apparently Kreskin failed to mention that he refused to start the show while drinks and food were still being served. Has he never done a show in a venue like this. I've been to plenty of these venues where you can order drink. Service was awful. It took at least 20 minutes to get a drink. I drank my two drinks 30 minutes before the show started and then my glass sat empty for almost two hours. They never made an announcement that drinks were not going to be served during the show. The reason I'm giving it three stars is because today I did receive an email from the Rrazz Room letting us know what had happened and apologized for the inconvenience. I appreciated that. However, beyond that I would not return based on the extremely slow service and high drink prices.

While we enjoyed the concert, not a single thing about the venue went well. First, admission was disorganized, delayed and what was supposed to be VIP seating turned into the most cramped space imaginable. Service, either at the bar or at the tables was next to impossible. We waited 30 minutes for two glasses of wine, one mixed drink and one water. The six food items we ordered for our group of six people yielded only two sub-par appetizers. The rest of the food - over a 3.5 hour period - never arrived. Beyond never being able to find a server, the inattentive bar staff and no-where-to-be-found management, it became clear to all in attendance that the staff completely abandoned any effort to serve guests after about one hour and 45 minutes into the evening. Numerous people were opening questioning whether the staff had simply walked out, if only there was someone to ask. At one point, both the entertainment (Steve Grand) and the packed house openly joked about the fact that no food or drinks were being served. Gallows humor, yet no effort by management was made to remedy the situation. Yet, checks were dropped with haste toward the end of the evening. One in our party joked, "How did these checks get here? By drone?" The final touch, of course, was that nearly every check dropped at our large, communal table was wrong. We were charged for food that never came, and drinks we never ordered. When I found a server, hiding out in the lobby and asked what happened to cause such a train wreck of service, he told me "they reorganized the tables right before the event." I'm not sure why moving tables would derail service so unbelievably, but it did and still there was no apology. Just lots of servers sheepishly changing checks of very angry guests. I was embarrassed for our friends and for the fact we promised them a great evening. We ultimately found a nearby restaurant still open afterward and got something to eat after four hours of non-service. The management should be ashamed of themselves for not stepping up and making some type of effort to apologize to the entire crowd. When your entire room full of guests and the entertainment are making a stink about horrific service, you step up and take responsibility. All this place seems to want to do is take your credit card.

Be the first to review this somewhat hidden gem of a music venue and brewery? don't mind if I do!…read more Over my past couple of years of listening to them, Foxy Shazam has evolved into being a band that I really needed to see live. So when I saw that they were playing this random Millersville venue not all that far away I was instantly intrigued, and then I was even more sold when I saw that the venue also brewed their own beer. I also loved that it was a non-Ticket Master venue that used Eventbrite to sell tickets without an insane amount of hidden fees. And when I checked it out it was a hidden gem of a pleasant surprise. Unless you go to Millersville University, the area that the venue is at is one that you might not frequent. But Phantom Power is one of those few other reasons to visit since it delivers a fine assortment of local flavor events and national touring acts. Regular events include things like gothic/industrial dance parties, comedy nights, a Kegs and Eggs weekend brunch event, or just chilling in their outdoor beer garden on good weather days. I would absolutely go to things like these if Millersville was even closer! But on the flip side Phantom Power has also been seeing a good surge of national acts coming through thanks to WXPN taking notice for shows and them just being a fun and reliable space which I'll get to. In addition to Foxy Shazam I've seen big local names like Hop Along and mewithoutyou, indie acts like Delta Spirit and Sondre Lerche, Industrial and Punk bands like Front 242 and Reverend Horton Heat, and WTF WoW shows like Tim Cappello from Lost Boys (I still believe! - https://youtu.be/LpuwcINDHnQ) on their current and past lineup. It kind of reminds me of pleasantly filled memory venues of yesteryear like the Trocadero, only with a better beer list! Once we made our way through the lot to the venue we realized how big it is. Outside of their brunch event, they don't have a menu of their own, but I love the food truck connections they have and really wish I could remember the name of the BBQ truck that had those glorious smoked wings! The on-site brewed beer was as much of a hidden gem as the music venue since we enjoyed IPAs, stouts, pilsners, ESBs, and some other good varieties. The one suggestion I have is that, with a music venue of its caliber that also has a good beer list, it would be useful for them to have more sheld space to leave cups on during a jam-packed show like the one we were at, Foxy Shazam is one of those good energy rock bands that I would have enjoyed without good sound or lighting. But the fact that they had both in spades definitely helped. Now that I know this hidden gem is a success I'm checking their Facebook and Eventbrite pages (they don't actually seem to have their own site outside of those) for eye-catching shows, and you should do the same!

I've never been to the Stress Factory before but it merits a return visit. The ticket prices were reasonable, there is a parking garage right next to the venue and plenty of restaurants to grab a bite before the show. They require you to purchase 2 items during the show, but you can get a bottle of water and something else. I had a yummy lemon drop martinis (ok, I had 2) and some candied nuts (warm and freshly roasted). They also have plenty of food and desserts. It is a highly respected comedy club that has hosted many of the greats, some of which are pictured along their walls. Prior to this visit, I had tickets to see Charlie Murphy around 2014, and I can say he was genuinely funny. I was recently there on Wednesday Jan 14th for their New Talent Showcase and truly enjoyed myself. The comedians were all so different but the lineup didn't feel choppy and thrown together. There were a lot of first timers that really had the crowd on their feet by the end of their set. I know the Stress Factory is known for their big names, but the New Talent Showcase is something special. It felt like a poetry slam night but for comedians. There was a sense of community, no heckling, all love. The service was great. We moved from one table to another on the opposite side of the stage, yet there was no hiccup in our service. Our server was super nice, and our appetizers hit the table pretty quickly. I ordered chicken quesadillas and a sampler that included mozzarella cheese, chicken fingers, and curly fries. Everything was good thankfully since I came straight from work and was starving. Lastly, I had a German draft beer to wash it all down. It was a good night!
