First time a Haitian restaurant in this area has a feel of Brooklyn/authentic food. Fair prices and generous portions. Going back asap!

So when we visited the market again I headed at to Marie's and ordered the Mac and Cheese. I was NOT DISAPPOINTED! It was soo good & the staff was wonderful! Marie was at the stand cooking smiling. So sweet! The prices are unbelievable reasonable! This place is a must try! Great prices - check Family owned- check Great taste- check & check!!! Try this place!

A week ago I stopped by the market and tried Marie's food - I can't find a menu right now - but it was juicy chicken with peppers and onions, rice and beans, and an outrageously DELICIOUS lil'-bit-spicy cabbage and greens mix. Each was fantastic on its own, but combined were an absolute treat. My list of food items above doesn't do justice to the perfect combo of savory spices. I can't wait to try the black rice and pigeon peas, or the plantains and other sides, or whatever dessert Marie has on the menu tomorrow. --LATER-- Everything was delicious again. I also tried the plantains (yum) and the banana pudding. You MUST get the banana pudding, it was so good!

(Mwen regrete, zanmi m ') Nonetheless, this unassuming little place produces some amazing stewed, chicken, fried fish, roast goat, and fried pork! (Yes, I've tried them all!) The pepper served on the side alone is worth its weight in gold! Con: Not a lot of seating in this cash-only establishment. Take your order to go, and make sure you have the paper money to pay! No credit/debit.... Bottom Line: I will repeat this habit early and often! Great food for the Caribbean soul!

It's not your typical restaurant they have like 2 or 3 tables but there's old men (probably family) sitting there talking in Creole. There's no menu anywhere, so if you're not familiar with the food already you won't know. The food isn't labeled and they in the tin pans. However, the food is amazing. The piklis is so good/spicy. The griot and black rice were so flavorful. I will come back. The ambiance isn't great, but the authenticity of the food is what drives their business.

Mommie Joe's - Oxtails with black rice and onions. It cost $12 for the small and there was enough food for 3 meals. The food was great!
