Choosing which lobster or yellowtail from the ice counter you want them to prepare, and how you want it prepared, is a fun part of the dining experience for us. Occasionally they have hog snapper or another fresh catch available. The fried lobster tail was fantastically seasoned with a little kick, and I've never had it prepared this way, chopped up into bite-sized pieces. Very filling and we could have shared one, but we still managed to devour both tails and left very full and satisfied. Each tail, including one side, was about $40 - but market price items vary based on size and weight of what's available that day. There are also plenty of less expensive options on the menu. One of my favorites is the yellowtail sandwich. And if you get there before 7:00pm you can order some oysters and lobster croquettes from the happy hour menu. Captain Jim's is a casual and comfortable restaurant with marine decor where the food is the star. Service is always friendly, helpful, and attentive.

Some are standard South Florida menu items Calamari, Conch Salad, Fritter, Scampi are among the offerings but there are a few standouts like: Blackened Fish, Shrimp Creole, Buffalo Shrimp, Caribbean Fish Soup, Shrimp And Grits, Po Boys and a few other sandwiches and pastas round out the menu. But the star of the show are the Fresh Shucked Oysters. From Virginia and only a $1.25 during Happy Hour, these oysters are delicious and have a different taste than their primos from the Gulf Of Mexico that I grew up on.....delicious nonetheless. The great staff makes dining here a much better experience. You're warmly welcomed and presented with a little bite of Krab Salad as soon as you sit. Happy Hour starts at 4PM and ends at 7PM. In the back they have a juice bar, and a section that serves hot food. The juices are all so FRESH. They even offer a happy hour at the end of day where they are half off. They also offer some yogurt parfait and chia seeds yogurt along with salads that are already made to grab for quick convenience. Where the hot food is has breakfast options along with some meals which they change that vary in fried fish, meatballs, grilled chicken, etc. I've had the pleasure of having a large range of their breakfast from the bagels with eggs and turkey to lox bagels and avocado toast. Everything is SO FRESH and so fairly priced I really want to stress fairly priced because i feel like this is what it should cost to eat fresh, whole foods.
