Came to eat NOT to shop so please keep that in mind while reading this review!! We came on a Saturday after seeing hype about their Ecuadorian food on Instagram and it did not disappoint!! As a fellow Ecuadorian, it is super hard to find good quality food from our country, especially food that tastes so similar to home! I will say, this place was completely packed to the brim. But the number system helps with organization. My parents had the Guatita and the Seco de Pollo and I had the Hornado and everything was spectacular. The portions are definitely sharable too. The place was clean and they had a live DJ playing the best Ecuadorian hits! The manager even greeted us and made sure we had everything we needed. Would completely recommend this place. read more

I have heard good things about the tacos and the hot Ecuadorian food inside the Flamingo Supermarket . Although I've made a few drop ins here, the hot food line is very busy. On a Sunday I encountered the bus hot food line again and opted for the tacos from Yax. I got three tacos for $10 (2 chicken and one asada). The tacos were just okay and needed the squeeze of lime and hot sauces to boost the flavor. On a Monday I returned for the hot food line as one of the cashiers said it was less busy during the week and he was correct. I walked around the counter to see what was prepared and looked appetizing. I opted for the arroz con chivo, which came as a hefty portion for a fair price. I took my meal to go to enjoy at home. Super delicious and flavorful. I am happy that I took the time to visit her a few times to finally try the food. I would definitely return to the hot counter to try other options. read more

Since the old Winn Dixie closed its doors ten years ago, this bay has been vacant until the recent opening of the family owned Flamingo Supermarket with a strong emphasis on hispanic culture. As I entered, the Caliente Caliente Kitchen & Cafe was busy slinging coffee and pastries. Grabbed a colada and sat at one of the ten tables listening to low playing latino music. Mesmerized by the mammoth size of the custom cakes in the bakery including oreo cookie, strawberry and chocolate creme (see pic). Did some price comparisons on certain weekly foods and determined that it was cheaper here than Publix. While browsing, it was evident that management take pride in the cleanliness of the market. The light brown wood flooring with the bright white led lights hovering above really enhances the modern visualization of the market. Met with the owner who advised that the concept of the Flamingo is for customers to have an experience in addition to their weekly grocery shopping. Therefore, his family is in the process of implementing a Crab Shack and Burger Joint to compliment the existing Taco Stand, Cane Cartel Juice & Smoothie Bar (tasted the Ochoa Berry Bomb smoothie which was delish), Goody the Jeweler and a self service Candy Station. Neat grocery that had more "ethnic" products compared to Publix, Walmart, and Target. Even found the hyped of s'mores cereal ( sadly not the discontinued S'morz Kellogg) that was talked about on Reddit. Parking is a mess to be quite honest, wouldn't come out of my way since it isn't my main grocery, but it was a decent store with a variety of products to choose from. read more

Flamingo Supermarket has amazing selection throughout the store. I can't wait to try their hot food. The Sancocho looked really good! Their mile high cakes were calling me as well! I bought two loaves of bread for my neighbors, some chicken breast on the bone, and some steaks. The quality was good and the prices were great. The espresso was yummy, next time I need to tell them half sugar. It was like drinking coffee flavored sugar syrup. They sell their own empanadas at the side bar. The service throughout the store was excellent. For Labor Day weekend, I kept wondering where the crowds were. I'm shocked that more people don't ship here. Overall it was clean and fully stocked. I will be back soon. I can't wait to have some of their hot food. read more

After many many mannnnnny years and speculation of when Flamingo Supermarket would finally open, they indeed are NOW OPEN!!! They had their Grand Opening in June 2025. And a soft opening a few weeks prior. News got out fast they were opening and people just couldn't wait. Ha. Flamingo Supermarket is located in the Embassy Lakes Shopping Center.I finally got to stop in about 1-2 weeks after the Grand Opening to avoid the chaos. They did a lovely job on this new supermarket. It's so BIG!!! And offers a variety of unique grocery items, fresh prepared foods, bakery, taco bar, smoothie bar, produce, meats, seafood, frozen foods and so much more. The market is super clean and incredibly organized. Everything I've seen so far looks fresh. Customer service is great and the staff here has been very nice. They are constantly doing special giveaways for TV's, speakers or what not. Once you make a purchase, your receipt prints with a slip to enter the giveaways. Great idea! During my first visit, I met David who saw me eyeing a fruit I wasn't sure what it was and came over to tell me more about it. Very nice guy. We were chatting about the opening and how everything was going. Then he introduced me to the Taco Bar by the produce area and asked if I wanted to try something off the menu. I asked to try the beef birria taco so they made me one to test. It was really tasty and fresh! Thanks for the hospitality David. I got several items during my first visit and have been back a few times. I love strolling around this store to check out what cool items they have. They have an amazing pistachio spread here. Got the Pisti Pistachio spread in 7 oz jar for $10.99 to make Dubai Chocolate. Then I had to go back to get more pistachio spread to make different Dubai Chocolate recipes and ended up snagging the 21 oz jar for $22.99. Triple the size for double the price. Worth it. If you haven't been here yet, come check them out. They have very cool stuff. What a great addition to the neighborhood. I hope they are successful in this new opening! On 3-21-26 at 12:45 the lady with the bright red lipstick working in the hot food area had a really sh***y attitude. She was super bothered with the questions I was asking about the food. I should have walked away but wanted to make her work while knowing she didn't want to. I took the food to go and left $0 tip. I won't be coming here again. The Taco place however, was a different story. Gentlemen were very nice and tacos were very good. I left them more than a 20% tip. read more

This was a unique store in the sense that they have several things going on in there that you don't find at other grocery stores. For instance, they have a separate area where they sell smoothies and energy drinks. They also have a separate area where you can buy tacos. Need a battery for your watch? No problem, just drop it off and let them repair it while you shop! They also offer a hot bar area where you can order a hot meal or buy food by the pound. They have a big selection of Hispanic items that you might not find in other local grocery stores. I did find that many of the items they sold here were a bit on the more expensive side though. The place is spotlessly clean and the workers that I came in contact with were all super nice and friendly. read more

I came here with my wonderful neighbor for the grand opening. It was very homey. He drove us there and there was a nice celebration. There was a DJ, some sampling, and a raffle to win a couple of TVs. I had been here a couple times before this event. Flamingo has some different kind of foods and flavors. You won't find these at other popular markets in the area. I like how this store is owned by a family. I spoke with one of the family members and they are beyond happy to be open finally. I took a peek at their bakery because I have a huge sweet tooth. The cakes are the largest I have seen, for a round cake anyway. The cakes look very special. I did not ask about pricing and their were no tags. My friend/neighbor and I ordered tacos from the taco bar. I ordered brisket tacos. He ordered burritos ones. There were 3 small tacos in one order. They were good. The lady gave me free chips and salsa. The salsa I did not care for. I am very happy to have a market neatly again. It is a definite step up from the former Winn Dixie. I went to visit my friend in Cooper City and she wanted to look around this new store that opened. Well, it is not officially opened. The grand opening is suppose to be June 19. They are doing an amazing job getting all the shelves stocked. There will be a juice bar and Tacos, some other things to but I had to get shopping! They have a jewelry, shop, you can get your watch fixed and go shopping. They has isles and Isles of all kinds of groceries. They have all kinds of different ethnic foods. If you dont see it I'm sure they can get it. The staff was so helpful, professional and friendly. I will be back, I bought some items to try so I will need to restock and try some other items. read more

After many, many, many years of waiting, Flamingo supermarket finally had its soft opening yesterday. This is a hopeful/potential 4 but probably should be closer to a 3.5. Apparently they weren't expecting to open but it got out in the neighborhood earlier in the week that they were. Official grand opening is/was supposed to be June 26. With that said, all the prepared food stall areas are not yet open (although they might be making fresh tacos today), there are still empty aisles/sections and cold cases, lots of items with no pricing or incorrect pricing, and areas of the floor that definitely might be a trip hazard. Spoke with one of the owners and they are family run and excited to be in the neighborhood. They are welcome to suggestions and if you are looking for specific items, just ask and they will see if they can get. There is also a separate jeweler inside the store. As for the store as it currently stands - Pros *Items very organized and clean looking *Produce looks great *Good variety of different ethnic items throughout the aisles *Wide array of meats and fish *Bright store *Can get food, cleaning products, pet food, kitchen items, and car products all in one place Cons *Many items seem a bit pricey *Be careful with cutouts in the floor *Lot of fresh items that expire within the next 4 days or so (odd if you weren't expecting to be open) *Running of operation seems disorganized being it's taken over 3 years to open and even the "opening" seems unplanned and not well communicated with the community. All that said, I hope they can thrive for longer than it's taken for them to open. Best of luck. read more

Besides that, I have chatted with a couple of the family members and they are so nice and down to earth. I had really high hopes for this new supermarket. It was clean and the staff was friendly. They have a good selection of produce but that was it. We found their prices very expensive. They carried mostly unknown brands full of chemicals and unhealthy ingredients. It reminded me of a Sédanos in both quality and appearance. This is not a good look for Cooper City. I've been looking forward to this market opening! Officially, the inauguration isn't until June 19th, but they are open, even though they're still sticking the shelves & different sections aren't open yet, like a Taco stand, the prepared food department etc. But the produce Department is fully stocked & the produce looks Beautiful! They have large Mexican sweet papayas & the displays are picture perfect. There's a wonderful fresh fish department featuring every type of fish imaginable. Very impressive. They have products from Brazil, Peru, Colombia & the Caribbean and even from Israel! I was glad to find my Crema Mexicans which I use to make Culichi. This is truly a fun place to shop. I met some of the owners: Nick & Albert, but there are more brothers working there---all very attentive & eager to please. I can't wait for the inauguration! It might be new and pretty but already having bought items that are expired. Charged with multiple wrong charges from the advertisement of prices. To top it off cashier was upset to need changing prices and calling out manager that appears to be young teenager that didn't even apologize for there mistake, and screaming when their new system doesn't go through on credit card. We have only been here twice but have been highly impressed. It is the nicest supermarket that we have been to in a long time, even among the big names, and we are going back again today. This is a beautiful and large market that caters to all types of tastes, cuisines and nationalities. The shining floors, spacious layout, wide aisles, and very user-friendly signs are a big plus. We especially love their seafood and produce departments, but all are excellent. We have been looking for frozen seafood paella that Trader Joe's discontinued and the two Flamingo Supermarket owners (brothers) searched diligently for us with their suppliers. Unfortunately, they that informed us that this wonderful item has been discontinued. They gave the best customer service and have so impressed us with their community-centric willing to listen approach. The whole atmosphere and vibe is welcoming and makes people want to return! read more
