I enjoyed perusing the aisles and displays to look for things I didn't even know I needed. There's a fine line between 'want' and 'need' and that line is easily erased here. The prices are the first thing you'll notice. While they are not necessarily "high" for quality items and equipment, they are a little on the pricier side. Perhaps that's unfair to say since all the Le Creuset stuff is placed right in the front of the store. I did end up getting some charming plates (I already have the perfect dish in mind) and a few other little gadgets that I decided I ultimately "needed". They are friendly here. Though I did not ask for assistance personally, I overheard someone else ask one of the gents working there about the difference between the cheaper and more expensive pans and he was quite thorough with his layman's response. I love stores like this but somehow I felt that they had just a little bit less variety than I would have liked. They do seem to favor a handful of brands, leaving options pretty minimal. That being said, I recently bought a couple containers that didn't end up working for my space and returned them the next day after using them for storing grains. The return was refused because of that and they were deemed unsellable despite the condition of the product being unchanged. On Independent Restaurant Supply's website they claim a 20% restocking fee on merchandise returns as their policy but seem to leave out any other clarification on their strict return policy in-store or on the website. Word of warning to future buyers to be 100% sure about your purchase before buying here as you will most likely be stuck with it if it's in any way used and according to their policy if it's untouched you'll still only get that 80% return

As we drove up the driveway we passed a beautiful rusted metal coexistence sculpture. When I walked into the store the classical radio station was playing the "Pie Jesu" from the Faure "Requiem". Too lovely. They have a rack of those quirky Koziol gadgets near the door, a bigger assortment of them than I can remember seeing before. They have Brown Betty teapots and tea cozies and just about any cool kitchen gadget you could imagine. Gorgeous knives that feel good in your hand! The woman working there was friendly and helpful. We bought a few little things. Who could resist?

Shopping carts full of to-be-stocked items (or not and just a cart full of a discounted item) are haphazardly placed along the aisles, stuff on the shelves is often not placed/priced properly, leaving you to wonder how much the item you picked up really is, prices are okay and you'll find a lot of discounted stuff from time to time. Their bedding selection is actually a lot less than I remember it being. They might have some exclusive deal with Nestwell and a couple other companies so you really don't have a lot of choice. The older gent that checked me out was quite friendly but otherwise nobody came up to me or said hi. But I'm a misanthrope, so that's fine by me. Bottom line is if you're moving into a new apartment or dorm, you'll find what you need for just a few items. If you're redoing a proper bedroom then I think this place is lacking, in my opinion.
