I normally love The Kitchen. Not tonight. We made a reservation on Open Table for 9pm. The restaurant called and said the kitchen closes at 9pm. What time will we arrive. I told them 8:42. We arrived on time. The waiter was rude from the start, hurrying us through the meal, even asking us to pay while we were still eating. We told the manager, but she was indifferent. We watched the waiter take out multiple garbage cans and then serve our food. The food was good, except my girlfriend thought her salmon had been precooked and just warmed up. It was very disappointing. After the meal Kyle the Chief showed up and apologized. He was very nice, but if we go back again, I will make sure I am there before 8pm. I guess they wanted to close early that night. read more

Dinner before a show at Ruth Eckerd, this location is pretty convenient to the venue... Surprisingly delicious. Everything from our hamachi appetizer to my Kentucky Mule to my steak dinner.... It's such a cute place, too. And old house with all the unique character that the house must have had... We ate inside, in one of the bar areas, but looks like there's a nice outdoor/deck part of the restaurant... I'd be interested in trying brunch here! Although I'd imagine parking might be a little difficult...it's street parking only. We got a rockstar parking spot right up front, but that was just lucky! read more

I've been dying to try this place for ages. Finally went in for an early dinner. Started with a nice cold Pinot Grigio and a beer. Then we split a couple of appys. The first one was the fish spread. It was delicious with celery and carrots. Crostini on the side. Then we ordered the cauliflower. I'd go back just for another order of that. It's fantastic. The perfect texture and sauce. With a jalapeño aioli on the side for dipping. Then we split the red curry. Very tasty but I wish the carrots had been cooked a little more and my husband thought the same about the rice noodles. All in all a good experience. Loved the venue. We will definitely be back. read more

I absolutely enjoy the ambience of this homey, craftsman style establishment. Excellent for a date night or in my case, girls night. We sat at a small high top in the bar area which was a perfect view of the restaurant and bar. Our bartender. I believe his name was Dan, made our experience even better. Well I can't say every dish we had was a hit. I do see there's care and thoughtfulness in the execution of the menu and these dishes. I was pretty disappointed in the redfish served with brussels. In my humble opinion, brussels are played out a bit, although I do still enjoy seeing them on the menu from time to time. The red fish was extremely dry to the point that our server noticed we didn't really touch it and he took it off of our bill. The addition of balsamic glaze with fish was just off putting to me. The bau buns were nice but could have used a little more vinegar on the pickled veggies. The scallops with root veggie hash are something to write home about. I will always recommend and order this dish on my visits. The dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives was perfectly blended. I want to keep this gem my own little secret but also want this business to strive so that I can continue to enjoy it. read more

Need to come back here. Very cute little spot in an old home. Brussel sprouts appetizer is delicious.

Went to dinner here on a girls night. I used to love Green Springs so I had high hopes for this name and menu change. It did not disappoint! The inside is still an eclectic mix of art and rooms. We sat at a high top table since everything else was taken. Our server greeted us quickly and got the ball rolling. Appetizer: spinach dip - can't go wrong with this classic & it was perfect Entree - petite filet perfectly cooked with the best Brussels sprouts I've had in a while, plus little dinner salad Entree - coconut mahi with rice - outstanding Dessert - THE BEST BREAD PUDDING IVE EVER HAD. Go eat this right now. I hope this place stays around for a while because I must go back to try more things! read more

I ordered the steak filet. I am particular about how my steak is cooked and regularly have dinner at one our local restaurants that serve steak. I have gotten used to the fact that I am not going to get it the way I really want it and accept it if it is close. Las night I got it perfect at the Kitchen, the waiter seemed to know exactly how I wanted it. Everyone was friendly and took the time to explain the menus in spite of being very busy. Loved the 6 Volt Rodeo group that was playing country swing. read more

We had heard lots about this place and chose Christmas Eve to enjoy. The restaurant is a house converted into a restaurant. Immediately you feel a cozy ambiance. The menu has a great mixture of creative dishes. I got the macadamia crusted mahi mahi served with yucca and roasted pepper. There was a jalapeño cream sauce that was a nice added touch. Very tasty and perfectly cooked. My husband got the espresso and cocoa crusted lamb chops. He was not sure about the mint quinoa but really loved. It also was served with asparagus. There was a pomegranate reduction that also was a nice touch. He was very happy with his dish. For dessert he ordered the cheese cake and thought taste, texture, and consistency was on point. Service was friendly and on point. Overall the place had a little bit of a European feel to it. We will definitely be back. read more

Came here last night with a girlfriend, and we absolutely loved it! The environment is so cute, warm and welcoming! The service was spectacular and experience overall was wonderful. Our server was Rachel and she was extremely attentive during the entirety of the experience. Rachel helped us with our drink and food selections. We ended up getting the Brussel sprout, appetizer and salmon entrée. Both were delicious and so flavorful! The margarita I got was one of the best margaritas I've ever had. Everything was so fresh, as they don't use nasty artificial sweeteners. The manager came over and checked on us during our experience. We will definitely be back! read more

I have been here twice, both times as a group of 6 and both times everyone at the table enjoyed what they ordered. The menu has lots of great options however is a little on the pricier side. The inside of the restaurant can get a little hot and stuffy with no fans - last night my group was a little uncomfortable. Service was good and I do recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. I also highly recommend the sangria it was delicious. read more

This place is outstanding!!!! We started out with Bao Buns which were excellent.... Until our waiter Scott handed us the Sriracha! It enhanced the favor even more. The side salads were very good but the main course was Stuffed gnocchi with wild boar sausage. Honestly one of the best dishes I've ever eaten....top notch. My wife had the scallop risotto but substituted shrimp and loved it but was shocked mine was even better. We ate out on the porch which was nice and cozy. Scott was a really good waiter and nice guy. Just a great experience. You will not be disappointed. read more

It is basically a house turned into a restaurant. Some things are good, some things are meh. I had the salmon and it was pretty good. But can't say I was a fan of their steak. The vibe inside is definitely sort of old school and the service was just fine. Food doesn't take too long to come out. While its not bad, it wouldn't be my #1 choice. read more

I have been wanting to try this place and was not disappointed one bit. We went for lunch with a large group of friends and had the best service and delicious food. Every person who ate here ,there were 15 of us gave praises on the food and service..the place is adorable and you feel right at home...presentation on the food was also wonderful as well.. I believe the server was Karissa...she was fabulous and took care of our large group. I ordered my bottled Aqua Panna water and was very happy it was kept cold on the table.. I ordered something I normally would not order, a Fried Chicken Sandwich and it was served with Fries..I have to tell you it was one of the best I ever had, very large piece of meat and served on a quality Bun. It was served with Fries, hade wedges which were delicious . I normally do not eat Fries and ate the these...I would love to come back for Dinner in the future.. read more

We arrived promptly at 6:00 for our reservation. The food came out at 7:20. We reminded the server several times that we had 8:00 theater tickets. The steaks were brought out cold. My son's vegan stew was inedible. The cauliflower bites were overbreaded and overcooked. The only thing good about the meal was the fish dip spread. We ate as much as we could before we had to leave. A woman came by to ask how things were. My daughter-in-law told her the steaks were brought out cold. Her only comment was that she knew they had come out hot. This is what we got for $300+ for food and drinks. You be the judge. The restaurant is cute, but that's its only good quality. read more

I don't even know where to start, this cute restaurant we stumbled upon exceeded our expectations. The food and service were delightful. We tried every single dish and was so full by the end of the night. We loved the crab cakes and our entrees of pork shoulder and duck the most. The beautiful decor and outdoor seating was the cherry on top. Recommend that you go early or have a reservation! read more

This place failed in every way possible. My girlfriend made reservations for my birthday and we arrived early. We were seated and then greeted by the staff. We got the menus, water, and ordered a bottle of wine. We made our orders and that's when "FAILED" kicked in. Our Saganaki was ordered as an appetizer. Braised Ribs as our main course. We weren't told the Saganaki was burnt until we started to notice other dishes being delivered at other tables and we still didn't have anything on ours. The staff (I'm using staff to avoid making reference identification as the person is male or female so when the owner reads this, he/she will know who that person is and deal with handling any punishment to that staff)apologized and said our dish was burned and the kitchen had to do it over again....we were comped for that dish. However, while we were waiting for the Saganaki, a staff person brought out our main course. We informed that person that we didn't have the appetizer yet, and our main course was returned to the kitchen much to my worry that it was going to SIT in the warming bin. Our Saganaki was served but not before the lemon fell out of the hands of the staff and fell on the floor to be replaced by a new lemon slice....hot and tasty. Main course followed shortly and as I suspected, it sat in a warming bin OR it just sat in the kitchen and it was warm but not hot. I didn't send it back to cause more pain to my experience there. While we were eating a staff brought over a foam container and placed it on our table....what's that? I opened it up to find a fresh serving of hot french fries and wondered if that came with our meal but it couldn't because we had mashed potatoes and carrots in our dish. I didn't know about this container of fries and it sure looked tempting because it was hot and our main course was NOT. Moments later a staff person checked on how our dinner was, noticed the fries and said they didn't belong on our table. That staffer closed the container and brought it to the other table where it may have belonged. That couple just paid their bill but didn't take the fries when they left. I wouldn't take the fries either because they were served to another table AND that staffer took that opened container and gave it to the other customer. Health violation? To me, this was truly pitiful. A FAILED dinner experience all around read more

The most quaint and cozy atmosphere. You feel like you're at home. The food is top notch and the service is top tier.

TLDR: cute ambiance, great fish & great staff. We had a romantic dinner date at the beautiful restaurant. We enjoyed our dining experience at this adorable establishment. We arrived a few minutes early and waited at the bench swing out front which was a great way to start a date night. We then had a couple of drinks, an espresso martini which wasn't my favorite and a sangria which was way more tasty. We each had fish for dinner. Both were delicious though the balsamic drizzle was a little odd tasting with the red fish. Our waitress was an absolute joy and we were able to find street parking very easily. The bathrooms were clean and the patio would be a perfect place to host an event, it just darling. read more

Had dinner two nights ago. The place was absolutely filled with small flying insects. My lamb chops ($34) were lukewarm,at best. Over-cooked as well. My wife's steak was half fat. Don't eat here. Highly overrated. Drinks are expensive, and slow to arrive. Wont be back. This place thrives on its rep, but it's seriously gone downhill. There are better options. read more

Great food and good service! Always a good time. I recommend the filet, steak fries, and the Huntsman stew.

A gem in Safety Harbor! Stopped in for Sunday Brunch, sat out back on the patio which was really a nice atmosphere. Walked past a nice bar in the interior. Will need to check that out in the future. Brunch menu was a lot of unique choices. I went for the breakfast street tacos. These were not your average taco. They were an explosion of great flavors. The tortillas had a melted cheese on the outside that made them a bit crunchy. I will be back to check out the dinner menu! read more

Impromptu date night led my husband and I to The Kitchen and what an amazing night it turned out to be! Adorned with a true Florida home atmosphere we stepped into what felt like real old time Florida! We didn't have a reservation but we're welcomed like we were family! David, the kindest host we'd ever met not only put intentional thought about where he sat us but also introduced our waitress, Wendy, and went on to explain how the chef was the most amazing chef he had worked with in all his years in the service industry. Wendy was equally as welcoming and attentive. They both clearly love their job. On to the food: the menu has so many options making our choice extremely difficult. Wendy gave us tremendous suggestions and time to ditch our indecision and replace it with trust in David's compliments of the chef. Analysis: The food is AMAZING!!! Best steak I have ever had! Literally, ever! Though 1/2 price Wednesday bottles of wine may have played a part in my bias, I am blown away at the level of detail given to each item we ordered! I felt like I was in a movie with people celebrating friendships and birthdays around us. We could have sat there for hours it was so welcoming! We will be back. This may qualify as my new favorite restaurant! 5 incredibly deserved stars! read more
