Pat came back to me several times with different scenarios, offering to help me figure out what info I needed to give them since it was very unclear. We went back and forth a lot and Pat tried very hard to help me solve the problems that I was having with another cabinet company. Pat was completely transparent regarding what the different costs would be depending on which route I took which I really appreciated. Ultimately I did go with IKEA doors for both the top and bottom cabinets. I had a scheduling delay on my end forcing me to change the start date and Pat was able to work out the timing so that the installation was not held up. He pretty much turned himself inside out to make it happen all the while remaining very professional, courteous and solution oriented. The installation went off without any problems. His team was a pleasure to have in my home and the installation was excellent. All three of the guys were polite, hard working professionals who definitely know how to properly install an IKEA kitchen. They cleaned up everyday and any questions I had they were happy to answer. They also worked in tandem with my contractor with no issues at all. When they had to return for a few minor changes, Pat responded to me immediately and there was no problem setting up the time which I really appreciated since the job was basically completed. We went to…read morecheck out Affordable Granite based on a few reviews, and particularly because it was mentioned that they have a very fast turnaround from template to installation. We were on a very tight schedule with certain aspects of our whole-house renovation because we had a firm move-in date and needed a functioning kitchen. Affordable Granite delivered on absolutely everything we needed, and were completely respectful, professional, and friendly through the whole process -- and I ask a lot! We scheduled a date for templating based on our cabinet installer's commitment of when the base cabinets would be ready. He was one day off in his time estimation and needed an extra half day to finish. With only a few hours notice, Sara rescheduled our template appointment from late morning to the last appointment of the day, which allowed the extra time to complete the cabinet install without delaying our granite fabrication another week. Next, they worked very patiently with me until I felt completely satisfied with the layout. We have a tricky kitchen, with a large peninsula instead of an island, which necessitated a 90 degree turn without messing up the "movement" (similar to "grain" in wood) of the stone pattern. And we had chosen a pattern with a very definite movement direction. Plus the size of our kitchen (fairly large, and with most of the counters continuously connected) made it so a minimum of two seams would be needed. And the placement of our sink and dishwasher made it even trickier. I definitely wanted no seam around the sink, but this meant that we would either have to have three seams, or put one over the dishwasher. Bruno knows his business! He assured me that though it is usually preferable not to put a seam over the dishwasher, he had done it before with perfect results, so we went with it to minimize the number of seams. And the result was indeed perfect. I was really worried about visibility of the seams, and I must say, they did a BRILLIANT job of laying out the template to make the seams visibly almost non-existent. One seam is simply invisible because they placed both sides within a section of pattern with minimal movement. For the other seam, in a spot of fairly high visibility, they lined up the elements of the granite in such a way that the movement pattern continued perfectly gracefully across the seam, and even created an interesting figure that looks like it's a natural part of the granite! Every person who was invited in to see the counters after installation could not find the seams by visual inspection; they all had to find them by running their hands along and feeling for them. Affordable Granite has a one week turnaround from template to install. On top of that, we needed each of these tasks to be accomplished on a particular day, since we had one week between cabinet installation and the last day the plumber could install the sink before we had to move in. Again, Sara came through for us (she's an amazing office manager, very warm and friendly, knows her stone and her business, and super helpful and has fast communication responses). She scheduled us for the first installation of the day, at the earliest possible moment after fabrication was completed, so that we could have the plumber come in that evening to put in the sink. The installers included the same guys (very professional) who did the templating. Bruno, the owner, really knows his business, and knows how to deliver on all the details that make for a truly high quality outcome. (I worked for a high-end interior designer for a while, and I'm very particular about details.) He personally helped with laying out the template on the stone. And he came to my house to oversee the trickiest part of the installation and make sure everything came out to my satisfaction, including taking care to tread lightly in my home. One final comment: when I first went to their stone yard, my first impression caused me some definite hesitation. They were kind of hard to find (behind another business), the office was hard to spot, and their yard was small. I definitely prefer to have a very large selection so I can tweak my design details perfectly. I thought I would need to go to the giant wholesaler's yard to pick my stone, and have Bruno do the fabrication. But it turned out that Affordable Granite has a really good selection of stone, despite being a small yard. I was expecting the same cheaper, boring patterns as big box stores, but that was not what I found. I found a gorgeous variety of very interesting granite right in their small yard that fit my design beautifully. So while they don't have everything under the sun, their small selection is surprisingly well curated. We had an outstanding experience, start to finish, with this small business, who delivered excellence in all the ways that really count.

They don't answer (phone calls, texts, emails - you can't leave a VM for either Howard or Jose) and I had 2 no-shows during this arduous process. Well you have called me 2xs and texted me 2xs asking for my review...here you go. I went to the showroom to look and discuss countertops on February 18th, met Howard gave him my measurements of my kitchen, told them we wanted a waterfall. Not once did he mention my island was too large and told me we would need 2 slabs. He did mention my upper cabinets were high, but that during template they would double check (I told him, yeah the design has our upper cabinets higher than standard due to having vaulted ceilings in our home). He recommend I check out Nash Stone (loved them and their selection. Gabby was super responsive, Nash has great customer service!) I picked out 3 stones and by February 25th (a week later) emailed Howard with pictures and asked for price quotes...AND AGAIN GAVE ALL MY MEASUREMENTS + plus the measurements for A WATERFALL. Still did not mention my island is too large. Had to stay on top of him into March but did get a price quote to which I was told I needed to send in the check to hold the stone. When I sent the check in March, Howard just ghosts all calls or texts until early April. By then the stone I wanted was gone, so I had to run back to Nash and picked out a new stone on April 1st. He wakes up April 5th and tells me April 10th they will come to template. They never show. I was told they forgot my house and finished for the day, cool. So they show up to template on April 11th (take my sink at this time too- we will come back to this) and this is when I am now told my island is way too large. Can't accommodate an a waterfall edge, would need a seam for the stone and they recommend taking out 2 cabinets out of island. I emailed Howard that night, and he never ends up getting back to me. In fact, no one will answer me. Can't leave a voicemail his inbox is full. My husband ends up calling...using a different number and wow would you guess who picks up...Howard. He then pushes us off to work with a different designer, Jose. Real nice and super professional move (*I'm being sarcastic here). Jose does come to our house, and explains that we will need to take out the 2 cabinets. Which honestly is just so frustrating to get to this point and learn this. He also mentions several ways he would have designed our kitchen differently, cool super helpful. My contractor comes back rips out the 2 cabinets (goodbye $1000) they come re-template. Now we are well into the middle of May, we get a call on Sunday 5/21 to set up for install saying it will be Tuesday 5/23 and Wednesday 5/24. MONDAY NIGHT AT 6PM, night before install, Jose is rapidly calling us to tell us, our sink is too large. The sink they have had SINCE APRIL 11TH. He is trying to push us to buy a sink off of them, by some luck my husband finds a new sink in the "correct" size (we wanted a workstation sink) and since they have had this sink since April 11th, I now cannot return the sink (goodbye $614.81). They come and do the backsplash that Tuesday 5/24 and then DO NOT SHOW (no phone call, no text nothing, which I took off of work to be there) on Wednesday. You would think they would of said something that Tuesday that they wouldn't be there, or ask for the new sink? I call 4pm on Wednesday the main phone number asking why no one has come and the woman does not have an answer but tells me they need the new sink delivered by 5pm to either Selden or East Northport location. The lack of communication, professionalism, and customer service is a COMPLETE JOKE with this company. I guess if you are not having a full kitchen design you are not a worthy of their time. Thank you for adding an additional 3 months + wasting $1,600 to my renovation that did not need to be. I will not be recommending this company, ever.
