So, so if your looking for highly professional staff, a clean and safe environment, and very affordable prices this is the best place. Getting my first and today my second CCW renewal didn't just keep me compliant it made me a far more proficient shooter, and it was a blast. No pun intended.  Oh yah, the staff love what they do, they take their jobs seriously. It's not easy to find employees as highly motivated. Dee

The class at Elite CCW was VASTLY superior to my previous experiences. Elite is truly in a league of its own. The facilities- Elite is truly concerned with the comfort of its students, and it shows. The classroom is large and air conditioned and the swiveled chairs were large and comfortable. We were greeted by dozens of azzorted donuts, refrigerators with a wide assortment of beverages, and friendly, efficient staff. Lockers were provided for our range gear, large enough to accommodate almost any size of bag. The shooting range is small (only four lanes at present, but they are moving to a larger location), but it was well lit and temperature controlled. They scheduled CCW range time efficiently, and I was easily able to qualify my firearm during the lunch break. (Pizza was provided!) As for the actual course content, it too was far superior to the other courses I've attended. Real-world cases were used often, which made the lessons more effective. Mike wisely and appropriately was training us in how to protect ourselves and our families, repeatedly reminding us to avoid conflict when possible and to not think being a CCW holder obligates us to "save the world." There were so many unique percs to the Elite CCW experience that I go on for several more paragraphs describing Mike's knowledge and experience, assistance with the CCW application process for CA, UT, & AZ, and more, but I think I've made my point. Elite CCW will be my resource for my firearms training and certification for as long as I can pull a trigger!

I learned things I never even thought about or considered. Roger is very patient and he answered all questions intelligently and was very professional in his responses. I initially chose Basic Gun Safety because Roger explained that I didn't have to wait for LASD to Give me permission to take this course, that if for some reason, my CCW renewal was he denied, I would get a full refund. I highly recommend Roger Harvey at Basic Gun Safety for CCW training. I'll come back when it's time to once again renew myCCW.

What really sets Roger apart is his depth of experience. His background in the military and as a shooting coach is obvious in the way he teaches. He explains things clearly, gives real world context, and focuses on building safe habits and confidence. You can tell he has spent years training others and knows exactly how to communicate effectively. The simulator training was one of the most valuable parts. It puts you in realistic situations and forces you to think through decisions, not just focus on shooting. It made the class much more engaging and practical. Roger also made the environment welcoming and comfortable and even provided snacks and refreshments during the class. Overall he is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely cares about his students. I highly recommend Roger and Basic Gun Safety to anyone pursuing their CCW. I left feeling much more confident, informed, and prepared.

Many times firearms retail employees are very gruff and "know it all" types. I have experienced this more often than not. This was not the case at RifleGear. Ivan helped show me a pistol and explained all the features of this newer weapons system. He was very knowledgeable and personable. I purchased the gun and this was my first time completing all the DROS paperwork via a computer tablet. Much of the information was pre populated after scanning my CDL. It was a much easier process compared to the old paper form. They have an excellent selection of both handguns and long guns here. would highly recommend and they even had a nice and clean restroom. I'll be back. ***Update** when I returned after 10 day waiting period Dustin helped me out. Super nice young man and knowledgeable about upgrades to new weapons system. Left my new gun for optic plate, optic, and magwell install along with another pistol that needed an armorer due to light primer strikes. Heard back from armorer few days later that all good and ready for pickup. Very pleased with Riflegear and the excellent service.

Here, they teach it all. Form, rules, regulations, expectations, practice, self defense, familiarity, mental awareness, & practical experiences. Updating my Review .. as per the Business owners reply…read more. The business owner responded with flat out lies about the nature of the issue. I have never threatened bad reviews.. In fact I almost never give a bad review.. this is the very first review I have ever done on Yelp. The business has NOT extended my credits over and over.. The issue of credit extension was raised only when my original contract ended, and they told me that $49/mo alumni would preserve my unused credits. . The issue has arisen presently to this review on yelp because when I went to use the credits I and to my shock I find they are not there. I asked them to restore them and they thus have refused.. only agreeing to give me 60 days to use six months back alumni credits.. The alumni program gives a credit every month.. This is not restoring my credits from the prior program that I was promised the alumni would preserve. Nor is 60 days a reasonable time to use the few credits they are granting.. given the difficulties with scheduling oversold classes. I understand the business owner saying a credits can't be extended indefinitely IF there wasn't some form of consideration, which is what I was led to believe the alumni subscription was providing at $49/mo. Since I started that alumni program they have collected over an additional $1000 without extending the credits as promised. Why this is so hard for them to simply extend the credits I paid for is beyond me.. Perhaps they have scammed so many people that if they begin to accommodate, the dam will break. The scheduling is a REAL problem.. I presume it's because they have OVERSOLD the program and that makes getting into classes very difficult and perhaps that may have been by design.. knowing they would expire out those credits and just keep the customers money without providing service. All I want from this business is to honor what they promised.. It's really not that big of accommodation being requested.. go figure.

There were some details that turned me away, but it's too petty and ridiculous to post here at the moment. They had openings the very next month, but since classes only have 8-9 students, it's hard to believe that it wasn't full already. Although the classrooms looked cool, and I enjoyed the tour, there was this feeling like they were only after students' money and not their well-being. I guess I would have preferred speaking with one of the teachers, and not a counselor/advisor that doesn't quite have the expertise in the field. They have the limited X-ray license program for a year with morning/evening options. I forget the pricing, but I was told that many students choose this private schooling because of the community college waiting lists. Also, the presentation was extremely short and felt like it was cut short. Regardless, I would personally rather go through public education somewhere like Cypress, Mt. SAC, El Camino, LACC, etc.
