The class at Elite CCW was VASTLY superior to my previous experiences. Elite is truly in a league of its own. The facilities- Elite is truly concerned with the comfort of its students, and it shows. The classroom is large and air conditioned and the swiveled chairs were large and comfortable. We were greeted by dozens of azzorted donuts, refrigerators with a wide assortment of beverages, and friendly, efficient staff. Lockers were provided for our range gear, large enough to accommodate almost any size of bag. The shooting range is small (only four lanes at present, but they are moving to a larger location), but it was well lit and temperature controlled. They scheduled CCW range time efficiently, and I was easily able to qualify my firearm during the lunch break. (Pizza was provided!) As for the actual course content, it too was far superior to the other courses I've attended. Real-world cases were used often, which made the lessons more effective. Mike wisely and appropriately was training us in how to protect ourselves and our families, repeatedly reminding us to avoid conflict when possible and to not think being a CCW holder obligates us to "save the world." There were so many unique percs to the Elite CCW experience that I go on for several more paragraphs describing Mike's knowledge and experience, assistance with the CCW application process for CA, UT, & AZ, and more, but I think I've made my point. Elite CCW will be my resource for my firearms training and certification for as long as I can pull a trigger!

My teenage daughter wanted to take a training course for her birthday, and that is what we did, opting for the introductory pistol course. It was an interesting experience learning all of the detail and function behind these weapons, as well as getting to handle and become familiar with the different types, from the six-shooter to the 9-mm semi-automatic handguns. After watching an extensive training video, we got the opportunity to do some actual target shooting on the range. Our instructor was excellent and did a great job showing us how everything actually worked and providing useful tips on how to shoot. I would definitely recommend the training course for anyone with a curiosity about guns or if you simply want to know more about it. Five stars.

The classroom portion was thorough, well-organized, and engaging. The instructor did a fantastic job covering everything required under the current California standards while keeping the material clear and practical. What stood out most was the hands-on instruction on the range. The instructor took the time to teach proper firearm grip and handling techniques drawn from his prior professional training experience. These methods made a noticeable difference and helped build real confidence with the firearm. The Long Beach training location was very convenient for me living in Lakewood. Scheduling was straightforward, the process was efficient, and everything needed for the LASD paperwork (Certificate of Completion and Shooting Proficiency Standards form) was handled smoothly and professionally. Overall, this was high-quality, no-nonsense training that prepared me well for the qualification and the rest of the CCW process. I feel like that can vary from shop to shop, so I wanted to make sure I came prepared. I didn't realize how busy this place gets. I walked in and checked in at the door using the laptop, and there were about 10 people or parties ahead of me. I ended up waiting around 30 to 40 minutes, which wasn't too bad considering how busy they were. Andre helped me with everything and made the process pretty easy. I took the FSC test there, and he was also super helpful when I was deciding which Beretta I wanted. Overall, it was a really good experience purchasing a firearm here. Pickup was just as easy. I went when they opened and there was no wait, even though I had an appointment scheduled for a later time. I was in and out pretty quickly, which was nice. My only complaint is more about the customers than the store. If you're planning to purchase a firearm, I'd recommend doing some research beforehand on what documents you need and whether you're legally able to purchase one. I saw someone spend quite a bit of time looking at different pistols and optics, only to find out they couldn't make a purchase. I feel like knowing this ahead of time would save both the customer and employees some time. One thing to keep in mind is that they do have an appointment system, and you can also join the virtual line through their website. I didn't know that before going, so definitely something I'll take advantage of next time. Overall, really good experience and I'll definitely be coming back.

Classes are well structured and cover real-world stuff. Straight to the chase, no bs, no gimmicks. This is real world training. Apparently not for the weak. People in these reviews complain that they can't book or have trouble leveling up, but I'm always able to book my classes in fact weeks out - and have been able to level up to their third tier in just my few months of training so perhaps it's a individual problem? There were some details that turned me away, but it's too petty and ridiculous to post here at the moment. They had openings the very next month, but since classes only have 8-9 students, it's hard to believe that it wasn't full already. Although the classrooms looked cool, and I enjoyed the tour, there was this feeling like they were only after students' money and not their well-being. I guess I would have preferred speaking with one of the teachers, and not a counselor/advisor that doesn't quite have the expertise in the field. They have the limited X-ray license program for a year with morning/evening options. I forget the pricing, but I was told that many students choose this private schooling because of the community college waiting lists. Also, the presentation was extremely short and felt like it was cut short. Regardless, I would personally rather go through public education somewhere like Cypress, Mt. SAC, El Camino, LACC, etc.
