I have been a hobbyist of various martial arts for years. Since day 1, the environment at Rounders was a perfect fit. The people are friendly and helpful. The hours and the selection of martial arts classes are excellent. Every last coach knows their stuff, and they teach both kids and adults classes with professionalism and care. I am also always grateful that the black belts, pro fighters, and other experienced trainees are so helpful during class. Not only do you have knowledgable coaches, but your peers support you here too. I have seen multiple martial arts gyms over the years, especially in Orange County, and while all have nice things to say about them, Rounders just hits every single mark. It's a nice and spacious facility with a great setup, but the people are what make it stand out. My only complaint is that I wish I had started here sooner.

Before this gym and before BJJ and Kickboxing/Muay Thai, I wasn't very confident in myself. I struggled to have hard conversations, make hard decisions and stick to commitments. I knew I needed to be better but I just didn't know how to be comfortable being uncomfortable. Well, that six week challenge did more for me than anything else I had done before. It put in an uncomfortable amount of effort, pain, stress, and happiness! I was terrified, I was never good at cardio, I would always throw up (and I did my first class!) but what I found is everyone here is rooting for you. Coach Eric who conducted my first class was so proud that I made it back into the class even after the bathroom break. Because all the coaches here have started where you have started. And they are here to support you, guide you and help you mold yourself into the best version of yourself. In completing the six week challenge, I had found the best version of myself. Someone I had desired to be but didn't know how to get there. I'm confident in my abilities, in my body, in my mind, in putting myself in uncomfortable positions and knowing I have what it takes to overcome it and succeed. I have made so many friends and found that I really have made this gym my second home! Coach Eric, Carlos, Regis and Coach Marcello are so supportive and incredible teachers who are so knowledgeable and great at pushing you forward and to your goals. If you're on the fence, take that leap of faith. It's worth it, even if it's just for the 6 weeks! You'll come out stronger and better than you were then. He taught us proper fighting stance, how to break out of different chokeholds, and how to prevent a fight before it starts. I…read morestumbled upon USSD on Facebook and they were offering two weeks for free and so I decided to check it out. I liked that during the pandemic they taught the classes outside or virtual. Both my son, and now my 5 year old daughter, have been taking classes here for almost a year now. Our first encounter was with Sensei Christine. She is so friendly and easy to talk to, and basically the administrative backbone of this place. Whenever I had a question, schedule change, or whatever, she has always been so accommodating and makes you feel like you a part of a family. My kids absolutely love Sensei Jack! He always makes classes engaging and funny. He is really good with the kids. I like how they not only teach karate, but also the principles of karate and how to deal with every day life situations, like dealing with a bully. I have learned some life lessons myself while watching in on his group classes! The program itself consists of a 30-minute one-on-one with a trainer and then 3 optional 45-minute group classes (based on age). They earn stripes on their belts depending on what they have learned for that particular belt. Once they receive 4 stripes they can test for the next color belt. Tests are usually done once a month. The kids have incentives to earn "ninja dollars" which they can collect to redeem for toys at the "ninja store." The kids really loves this and gives them an opportunity to work harder and be more engaged.

Mike's knowledge of the CCW laws and their real life application are top notch, and having an on-site range sealed the deal for me. Today was my 4th CCW renewal course. Of the previous three,…read moretwo were at a range in Huntington Beach and one was at an outdoor range in Corona. The class at Elite CCW was VASTLY superior to my previous experiences. Elite is truly in a league of its own. The facilities- Elite is truly concerned with the comfort of its students, and it shows. The classroom is large and air conditioned and the swiveled chairs were large and comfortable. We were greeted by dozens of azzorted donuts, refrigerators with a wide assortment of beverages, and friendly, efficient staff. Lockers were provided for our range gear, large enough to accommodate almost any size of bag. The shooting range is small (only four lanes at present, but they are moving to a larger location), but it was well lit and temperature controlled. They scheduled CCW range time efficiently, and I was easily able to qualify my firearm during the lunch break. (Pizza was provided!) As for the actual course content, it too was far superior to the other courses I've attended. Real-world cases were used often, which made the lessons more effective. Mike wisely and appropriately was training us in how to protect ourselves and our families, repeatedly reminding us to avoid conflict when possible and to not think being a CCW holder obligates us to "save the world." There were so many unique percs to the Elite CCW experience that I go on for several more paragraphs describing Mike's knowledge and experience, assistance with the CCW application process for CA, UT, & AZ, and more, but I think I've made my point. Elite CCW will be my resource for my firearms training and certification for as long as I can pull a trigger!
