My teenage daughter wanted to take a training course for her birthday, and that is what we did, opting for the introductory pistol course. It was an interesting experience learning all of the detail and function behind these weapons, as well as getting to handle and become familiar with the different types, from the six-shooter to the 9-mm semi-automatic handguns. After watching an extensive training video, we got the opportunity to do some actual target shooting on the range. Our instructor was excellent and did a great job showing us how everything actually worked and providing useful tips on how to shoot. I would definitely recommend the training course for anyone with a curiosity about guns or if you simply want to know more about it. Five stars.

He breaks down fundamentals in a way that's easy to understand without ever talking down to you. You can tell right away you're learning from someone who takes safety and skill seriously. Assisting Instructors Emilio and Julie were both excellent -- attentive, professional, and supportive throughout the drills. The whole class felt structured and well run, but still relaxed enough to enjoy. It never felt overwhelming. By the end of the day, I was noticeably more comfortable handling and operating my firearm -- from basic fundamentals to controlled drills and clearing malfunctions. Everything just felt smoother. Great instruction, great team, money well spent. I'll definitely be back.

Mike's knowledge of the CCW laws and their real life application are top notch, and having an on-site range sealed the deal for me. Looking forward to taking future classes to learn from Mike and Bailey.

The class at Elite CCW was VASTLY superior to my previous experiences. Elite is truly in a league of its own. The facilities- Elite is truly concerned with the comfort of its students, and it shows. The classroom is large and air conditioned and the swiveled chairs were large and comfortable. We were greeted by dozens of azzorted donuts, refrigerators with a wide assortment of beverages, and friendly, efficient staff. Lockers were provided for our range gear, large enough to accommodate almost any size of bag. The shooting range is small (only four lanes at present, but they are moving to a larger location), but it was well lit and temperature controlled. They scheduled CCW range time efficiently, and I was easily able to qualify my firearm during the lunch break. (Pizza was provided!) As for the actual course content, it too was far superior to the other courses I've attended. Real-world cases were used often, which made the lessons more effective. Mike wisely and appropriately was training us in how to protect ourselves and our families, repeatedly reminding us to avoid conflict when possible and to not think being a CCW holder obligates us to "save the world." There were so many unique percs to the Elite CCW experience that I go on for several more paragraphs describing Mike's knowledge and experience, assistance with the CCW application process for CA, UT, & AZ, and more, but I think I've made my point. Elite CCW will be my resource for my firearms training and certification for as long as I can pull a trigger!

5 stars - Outstanding LASD CCW training with Hansen Firearms Training…read more I recently completed my initial 16-hour Concealed Carry Weapon course with Hansen Firearms Training for my Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department application, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The classroom portion was thorough, well-organized, and engaging. The instructor did a fantastic job covering everything required under the current California standards while keeping the material clear and practical. What stood out most was the hands-on instruction on the range. The instructor took the time to teach proper firearm grip and handling techniques drawn from his prior professional training experience. These methods made a noticeable difference and helped build real confidence with the firearm. The Long Beach training location was very convenient for me living in Lakewood. Scheduling was straightforward, the process was efficient, and everything needed for the LASD paperwork (Certificate of Completion and Shooting Proficiency Standards form) was handled smoothly and professionally. Overall, this was high-quality, no-nonsense training that prepared me well for the qualification and the rest of the CCW process. I would highly recommend Hansen Firearms Training to anyone going through their LASD (or other Southern California) permit. Great instruction, solid facility, and a positive experience all around.

I was visiting from out of town (Oakland, CA) and stopped in to shoot. It was a weekend afternoon,…read moreso there was a bit of a wait. All in all, it was worth the wait. The staff were welcoming and friendly. It sounded like they made special accommodations for myself and some other shooters, by opening up the "tactical" range, since there were no members shooting at that time. That was awesome, because it got me on the range sooner. I also brought with me a new firearm - Canik Mete MC9LS with a new optic. I forgot my regular range bag with my tools; however, the range staff allowed me to use one of their tools to adjust my new optic. I don't know how the targets move on the regular range, but on the tactical range, you can push buttons to automatically set the targets at a specified distance, move the targets manually back and forth, and automatically have the target return. Best of all, the prices were very reasonable. $20 per lane and $0.50 targets - WAAAAAY better than prices in the Bay Area. If I were a resident of the area, I'd definitely become a member. (I overheard one of the staff members informing another customer of the benefits and price.). Top Notch outfit in my opinion.
