It's good, I think it will be my new Chinese take out place. Strictly a take out joint, they offer great deals, delivery and it's decent bang for your buck. Think greasy spoon, Canadian Chinese-Thai flavours, some dishes similar to Congee Wong, but not high or notable on the MSG. It's been two hours post dinner and I am not searching for water. Their specialty is the King's Chicken, its unique in preparation being white chicken meat lightly coated and fried with onions and tossed in their special sauce, which is like a sweet soy sauce. The kids loved it, wasn't spicy(or maybe I asked less spice? Sorry for my goldfish memory!) Base comparison dishes are Cantonese Fried Noodles, and Yeung Chow Fried Rice. Both dishes proved on par with higher pricing restaurants. Lots of meat, good sauce/flavour that isn't overly salty. Sweet and sour pork was the free dish promo on orders over $55. Sauce was on point, sweet and sour but not too much on either side. Pork meat chunks were slightly harder than I would prefer. Stuffed fried wontons(appy) had a chunk of above pork meat, it's not minced pork and shrimp as one expects from a typical Wonton. Just the wrapper in the wonton deep fried. 12 big delicious crunchy swirls for $6.95 was not worth my time tbh. Wouldn't order this again, would go for the spring rolls in future. Tofu with Veggies in Oyster Sauce is delicious as the tofu absorbs so much flavour. Good amount of Shiitake mushroom and veggies in a light sauce. Easy to order online or phoning in, no english issues. Some deals for cash only, some are already so promotional they won't allow promo stacking. Free dish on orders over $55, they may accommodate but usually Chef's choice. Great lunch deals but nowhere to enjoy inside or washroom for use. They offer party platter sizes as well, examples are on the wall. Plaza parking is plentiful, would recommend to check this place out for a quick lunch bite to start your favourite list. read more

Ordered food from here (party trays) last week. Sorry forgot to take pictures, ppl were hungry. The lady working here was super nice. She helped me with portioning for 15 adults and 4 kids.She had suggestions about sizes and about what to try. She let me know they can turn any dish into a party tray. They were super flexible about pick up times and the whole process was quick and painless. We spent about $300 and got 7 dishes , a mix of small and medium trays. A fried rice and a noodle dish were the bigger trays. The food is tasty. Prices aren't too bad. The smaller trays were a pad Thai , a sesame beef, sweet and sour pork, a mixed vegetables and another dish but sorry can't remember what I ordered. The sweet and sour pork went pretty fast in my house and it was quite nice. I think the vegetable dish they called it something treasures , sorry don't have the menu around me to check, it was a veggie seafood dish and I thought that one was very tasty. Feeding a large group a big variety is not too easy, this place has been here a while and i wanted to try it. Now that I have, I would order from here again. Maybe try some of the other dishes. Placed an order of their combo, feeding four. As far as the quality of food is concerned, it was average at best, not only some dishes were very bland, but also some of the chicken was dry, so overall we were not impressed by the taste. Then it was the portions, these containers were at least 40% smaller than any other restaurant I have purchased Chinese food from, when comparing pricing it seems comparable with other locations until you see the portions you receive only to discover the reality is this place is more expensive. I suggest not placing your order online or on the phone but to visit the location to ask and see what you will receive. read more

Being new to the area, I've come a couple times now to King's Kitchen and have had good experiences both times. Service was fast and friendly. I don't think I would dine in, although thinking back I can't remember if that was an option. On to food...The egg rolls were very tasty and crisp. While the chicken balls tend to be more batter than chicken, I really like them a lot in a strange way, despite the batteriness. I've had the sautéed veggies (little too much bok choy) and the broccoli with minced garlic, both were nice and reasonably priced. I will definitely come back, it's conveniently located and happy to have tried them out. read more

Ordered dinner for five late Friday afternoon, July 30. Food was cool and the orders were poorly prepared and presented. Any kind of plum sauce, soy sauce etc. was absent. Chicken dishes were dry and the beef dishes were so so and all the vegetables were cooked to the point of death. The squid with broccoli was akin to chewing on a piece of soft rubber. Shanghai noodles with chicken etc. should be renamed Shanghai Surprise. Why? Here's the "best" part. One of our friends was eating the wide noodle dish and pulled out a fairly large red rubber band. Not sure if this was part of the meal but it certainly cast a pall on the rest of the meal. In retrospect, the rubber band may have been the best part of the meal. Ordered a lunch combo with Szechuan beef and fried rice with honey garlic chicken balls. Wish more of these types of restaurants offered this sauce pairing with their chicken balls. Unfortunately, the food itself is just average. Fried rice was well cooked and tasty, but the beef was rubbery and flavourless. Chicken to ball ratio is poor - mostly breading. This is a 3.5, not a 3.0. It's a nice take out place and it's exactly what you're expecting which isn't bad. Funny story it was a Tuesday and I wanted to get some take out because it was a very long day and I couldn't for the life of me find the time or energy to cook something that would've been ready in time. My usual place for HK-style cafe take-out Viet Kong just up the street, was closed. So I decided to drive down to Chef Chan. Closed. The Thai Place, Little Bangkok next door was also closed! What the heck?! Anyways, drove back up to 16th and that plaza with the McDonald's has a place called the Kings Kitchen. Yelp reviews were good and website offered a 10% pick-up discount. Sold! Went there and it's a tiny place with an open kitchen. The front of house is very akin to an old pizza parlour where you wait for your pizza to be ready in the front. Don't expect to dine in there, this is exclusively a take-out place that just happens to have chairs. Food: It's the traditional Chinese take-out place in North America. You put in your order off their vast menu, or get one of the specials. It takes 10 to 15 minutes to prepare and you get a lot of food to take home. I ordered the special they didn't have printed on the menu, the one with the Cantonese Chow-Mein and was very happy I did. Under $30 got me enough food for 4 or 5 people and it had left overs for lunch the following day. Again, typical Chinese-style food you'd find at let's say a Mandarin buffet, but nothing wrong with that. If you go in expecting this to be a Chinese Take Out place, you'll be happy. This is a run-of-the-mill Thai take-out restaurant in a North Markham plaza. This plaza was really showing its age, but it seems to be undergoing a renovation to make it look more modern, like some of the newer plazas even farther north. We dined in, but I wouldn't really recommend it since there's only a few tables and it's pretty cramped. I had the spicy beef and cashew nuts. It didn't blow me away, but the beef was soft and tender and the sauce was pretty tasty. I'd be willing to come back and try a few of the other dishes since it's a big menu. We have ordered from The King's Kitchen three times thus far and that is enough to solidly conclude that with this place, your satisfaction is guaranteed. The customer service over the phone and at delivery is very friendly, professional and impressively fast. A language barrier does not apply with this place. We're within the free delivery zone and have had our order arrive at the door literally 20-25 minutes after placing our order. They accept debit, major credit cards and of course, cash at delivery. In terms of the food, we have not been disappointed with any dish we've ordered. Everything has tasted great, is reasonably priced and we especially like that they do not use MSG in their food. Seeing as how it seems to be the only Chinese/Thai venue in the area that offers home delivery, I'm glad to have it on our docket for those nights when we just don't want to cook. read more

One of my favourite fast food/take-out places in the Markham East area. I live pretty up north so we don't get that much variety in terms of Chinese food, so I'm glad this place is close to me. I really like their "dinner for one" combos (you can get it throughout the day lol) - it comes with some meat dish, rice or shanghai noodles (which are REALLY good!!), a really tasty spring roll -- all of which is hot and fresh -- and a pop. The portion is good for one REALLY REALLY hungry person or two people... I can never finish all their food in one sitting but you never have to worry about stingy portions either (for both the meat, and the noodles or rice.) The prices are decent... not as cheap as some Chinese food courts, though haha... and the wait is never long. If you didn't order ahead, you can browse the plaza for a few minutes. (There's a dollarama, and rogers video...or you can sit around and drink the tea they have.) I keep going back because the stuff I order is consistently delicious and never soggy or gross tasting. Love this place! The food is delicious and fresh - you can't go wrong with whatever you order. They have awesome lunch deals that come with a drink, spring roll and fortune cookie. Service is always pleasant too. I believe it's closed on Mondays but that's not a big issue. They're a big hit with everyone I know who's been. Totally recommend! read more

I'm surprised by all the good reviews. We ordered about six dishes with only two good. Not a fan of the house thai pineapple fried rice, Bok choy (was brown), Beef and green beans (it was free - but the beans were not fresh). I did enjoy the Chicken in Black Been sauce and found the Cantonese noodle average. I was disappointed overall and not in a rush to go back. Call to order food, order taker was best described as frantic and apologetic for being short staffed. Order is placed, I am told order will take 30 to 40 minutes... Ten minutes later, they call me back, 10 to 15 minutes longer for delivery! 1 hour and twenty minutes, our food arrives. After closer inspection, web site says 10 percent discount if you pay cash, this was never offered. We had called after an hou in inquire about delivery..."ya, ya it's coming".... no apology, nothing. Food arrives, ...finally, not bad, except I needed a jack hammer to get through the sweet and sour chicken balls. I don't expect much from take-out, but I expect a bare minimum of "we actually give a crap about you business". NEVER AGAIN!! I think the prices are fair for the amount of food that you get. I get the dinner combos which comes with extra chicken in the rice or noodles. And you get a spring roll. Certainly there is a lot of food, and the food is good, but I can't warrant a better score than 3. I did do delivery once and they didn't seem happy with 10% tip even though they advertised free delivery on orders over 20 bucks. Lunch combos are alight for 5 dollar without a drink. They provide you with water or tea for free. Quality is inconsistent, if you are ordering with a friend, make sure you do not order the same one, order differently because you will get bigger portions. Their quality has been dropping off for years, but this lunch special I just had was the nail in the coffin for me. The Shanghai noodles were rubbery and over-cooked, barely any meat at all in it, the soup was bland, and the spring roll was the tiniest one they've ever given me, and barely had anything in it.
