When killing the colonies of africanized bees, they apparently spray adhesive so the bees cannot fly! What does that mean for the purity of the honey?! Sounds like a toxic process? I you like honey you need to visit this store. Located right on the main street you can not miss it. It is one of the smallest stores I've ever been in to shop. They have a wide variety of honey products and honey butter in so many flavors you will be amazed. They have a jar of each flavor open so you can sample any one you choose. I wanted just plain honey and they have two to choose from. I like light so I chose the Desert Honey. It has an amazing flavor. Most everything is reasonably priced. It's a fact: killer bees are here to stay. What are killer bees? They are a human-created species of honeybee, the result of a Brazilian experiment from the 1960's to cross-breed European honeybees with larger African bees to create a breed that would yield more honey. The breeding part worked, but the experiment went "Jurassic-Park", the bees escaped, and have now infiltrated most of the Americas. They arrived in the U.S. in the 1990s. I first learned about Reed Booth, the "Killer Bee Guy", on the Discovery Channel show "Risk Takers." Lest you think they're warm and fuzzy, they are wild animals, and will aggressively defend their hives against anything they think threatens them. Thus the need for bee removal services like KBG. The bee removal part of his business is devoted to removing hives the bees set up close enough to humans to threaten them. Whenever he can on a job, he saves the bees (and harvests their honey) by relocating them to the wild, versus killing them. When he has to kill some to remove the hive, he uses soapy water (very effective) instead of toxic pesticides. I discovered this place while walking through the streets of Bisbee, AZ with my wife on a lazy Sunday afternoon. We tried a sample on the sidewalk and then proceeded to spend the next 45 minutes inside talking with one of the proprietors and stocking up on the variety of their incredible honey creations. We ended up leaving with raspberry and vanilla flavored honeys along with their plain honey and their award winning horseradish honey mustard that packs a hot yet flavorful kick. Placed an order for pollen and honey online. It has been a month and no product. My credit card was charged, but nothing. I sent an email and called and left a voicemail and got no response. I here the product is great, but customer service no so much. I double checked my receipt to make sure the address was correct and it was so who knows. I sent another email today. Hopefully I will get a response this time, if not I will have to contact my credit card company to reverse the charge....Update..I did receive a response right after I posted. ..."Sorry for the delay but a heart attack kinda slowed me down a bit. Four stars for the honey, one star (zero not possible) for the woman who works there. While they have a covid safe sign in the window, the opposite is true inside. The woman is unmasked in a narrow, 5' wide store and talks incessantly in your face. We were masked as required by many signs through out Bisbee and in every store window stating the policy. She then shows you some stupid light stick that is supposed to kill covid. Not true, meaning that she treats you like an idot. The reason we went in was because we were vaccinated six weeks ago. In retrospect, we should not have gone in and neither should anyone else. This woman is in violation of Bisbee's own rules for business. I tried to file a complaint with the visitor center, but it was closed. I will perservere. While we did buy some honey, the woman ruined the experience and we got out of there and away from her ASAP. We visited many businesses in Bisbee and they were all very mask compliant. Whoever the Killer Bee Guy is, she is doing him, his business, and the town of Bisbee a great disservice. read more

This guy is awesome! He is really excited about his products! It all comes from local bee's that he removes for the local law enforcement that he then in turns uses to produce his products. He has a tiny shop but a big personality! He wants you to try everything and is very helpful in explaining what the products are, what they go good with, etc. He has a special buy 4 get the 5th free and you can be I took him up on that! My favorite I tried was the garlic honey butter which I know I will be using soon. I also got a rum honey that will make a great addition to hot chocolate as well as a raspberry which I am going to use to marinade some lamb burgers. Oh man, what can be said that hasn't been said about this tiny little honey shop? You are greeted to endless jars of sampling, including massive honey varieties (all made very natural, no outside chemicals), honeycomb samples, mustard, and probably more! I tried out quite a few of the honeys and loved the vanilla and orange. Wow! There is a jalapeno mustard. The honeycomb was beyond good. You buy 4 and get the 5th free. If you ever needed a reason to go to BISBEE, this is a great one! The selection of honey's is Incredible. The owner is a fantastic guy with lots of stories. Although his shop has been downsized, it is a must see when in town. You will stop by the store for pretzels and to taste the honey (of course). Thats when you are hooked.
