This is basically like Bed Bath & Beyond but for the rich people at the very sleepy and friendly mall out in the west suburbs of Minneapolis call the Ridgedale. I only went in here for a couple of minutes because I wasn't really shopping for Bed and Bath and Beyond style HomeGoods, but it seems quaint and a little bit expensive... but then it's in a mall, so your expect that. Very friendly.

I've never done the opening hour stampede, so I can't speak to that insanity, but I have been there when it's crowded, but also when it's chill. Persistence is key, doing some research on what you want before you go, and having a realistic budget in mind are all part of setting yourself up for success. In 2008, I got a $3000 couch for $800. They shipped it and delivered to my living room in NJ for about $100. She is still with me, going strong. There was a puppy pee accident about 5 years after purchase and R&B replaced the cushion insert for me at a very reasonable cost ($250?). [Insert loads of great finds over the years for me, friends, and family who I would shop for virtually and R&B would take payment over the phone.] Fast forward to yesterday, while back in MN for a visit, I popped over because the piece we wanted for our guest bedroom/office is delivering mid-Nov new, so I figured, why not check the outlet? LUCK! There she is, $1200 less than list, and if there is something wrong with her, I can't find it...even after an associate helped me move it around and look for issues. I'll probably drop back in today to see if there's any new stock on Sunday, just in case :)

I came in specifically to look at Joybird sofas as they are an authorized retailer and have sofas on the sales floor. Its scary to make an online purchase (and such a large, custom purchase) without touching and feeling an item, so I was thrilled to learn this store was so close to home and had what I was looking to purchase. I had a great time working with Kristin. After countless emails and a couple visits to the store I ordered my sofa, and also ended up with a chair and lamp. Kristin was great to offer her designer opinion while listening to mine and helping me make the big decision based on my existing home design. They offer financing (OAC) and 'white glove' delivery (they take all the packaging stuff with them when they leave, set the item in the room of your choosing) just like Joybird, but they will for other items you purchase there, too. The kicker is the 2 week in home trial period. Keep it for two weeks and if you decide you hate it they will take it back to the store and offer you store credit to replace the item. This really eased my worry about spending 2K on a sofa I may not like as much in person. I can't wait until it arrives! They also have home decor items here, like pillows and lamps. Its a super fun place to just look around and get inspiration, or fall in love with a custom fox lamp which would totally look amazing on your nightstand. Or maybe that fun mounted anatomical model of a heart on your desk. Or maybe that chair with acrylic arms. You get the idea... Inventory is changing constantly, so visit often. See you there!

I wasn't sure if I could afford it so I had her price out a chair for me it was $1100 but they had a 20% off sale so it would be $880. I'm new to furniture shopshopping so I went to another store later (La-Z-Boy) and it was comparable to that. I walked in at 20 minutes to closing on a Sunday night, but Billie didn't seem rushed at all. I was the one saying "let's just wrap this up. Can you give me something to look at online?" And she gave me two websites she thought I would like based on our conversations and looking at what they have to offer. In the demo, I found they had stuck one on top of the other. It's a duplex and it was some janky work. I took those two out, put up new sheet rock and put in some Italian tile with some glass tile accents. I also included a "niche" so the shower now has a spot for shampoo, conditioner, etc. My tile cost $69.00. The niche? A formed piece of plastic? $75. This outlet center always has changing stock so what you see, you may not find again but if you have any ounce of creativity, you can create something. If you don't, the lady who has been there forever is so dang helpful! This last purchase was to put in a tile accent over a new stove we bought. Now the prices aren't like they were with that shower install but we still got a great deal for that small area. $30 I think? A great deal with tile that I don't see at your usual box store. Anyway, if you haven't been and have a project coming up, it is definitely worth checking this place out.

We had the exterior of our house painted by Paris Painting in 2022, and our 3-year warranty with…read morethem just ended. If you need something painted ASAP, they will get the job done, but if you want it done well I'd recommend finding one of the other well-rated painting businesses in town (they often have waitlists in the 1-3 year length!). We had purchased a home that was overdue for painting, so we had to get it done in 2022, and they did an adequate job at the time. Like other reviews have mentioned, Paris isn't a very detail-oriented company. The workers who were sent out to prep our house didn't know it had lead paint, so had to be reminded to take precautions with laying dropcloths, wearing masks, etc. (This happened essentially every time we had someone out to work on the house over the three years we've worked with them.) People have repeatedly come into our yard without warning to look at the site, one time leaving our gate open so our dog escaped. During the main work, the project manager was rarely on site. Hardware was put back on our house upside down (house numbers and shutter hardware). Workers often didn't know which colors went where. Once the paint was "finished" we had to call them back once if not twice to have someone come out and catch places that were not fully painted. But by the time they were finished in 2022 the house looked good! In 2023 the house still looked okay, but by 2024 the paint had begun to bubble and peel, mostly because the prep had not been done sufficiently. We had Paris out to look at the house in 2024 and they did a little bit of touch-up, but only in the very specific places I pointed out, and even missing a few of those. The places I pointed out were supposed to be examples of the overall issues. In 2025, with our warranty running out, we had them back out to do the touchups. Again the first time workers came out, they only addressed a few of the specific places I had highlighted, even though the majority of every exterior wall was peeling and needed work. Eventually I took 20+ photos of the most egregious issues and those were addressed. I can't remember how many times we've had someone out this season. We weren't fully satisfied by the final visit, but decided we'd had enough of dealing with them. I'm sure we'll continue finding issues-- we recently discovered that workers caulked our garage attic access door shut (?!) without us asking them to, so that had to be cut open again and damaged the paint once again. Basically, if you hire Paris, be prepared to serve as your own project manager. Without our repeated follow-ups the work would have been a 1-star or 2-star quality. As it is, I'd rate the experience as "okay."

Our painting crew and crew chief Tony, and our carpenter Toby, were helpful and meticulous in ensuring everything was repaired, primed, and repainted to our satisfaction. Toby even showed us how to internally disassemble the exterior sliding-door storm windows we have on a back sunroom, so that in the future I can better monitor and touch-up the external windowsill and vertical frame paint to prevent the need for window replacements over the next decade. The painting team's semi-gloss paint brand was matched well to our metal trim color and designed to guard against the Minnesota elements, while Toby's cedar woodwork was solid and precise -- so we're optimistic that Paris' 3-year work-quality warranty won't be needed to call them back into action. We appreciated the comprehensive and detailed estimate they provided for their carpentry-repair and painting, and their willingness to ensure their work was good quality and capable of indefinitely maintaining our house windows' and garage trims' structural integrity.

Several months ago my boyfriend and I had been looking for really large gold mirrors with intricate details on the frame. I needed about 3, but everything brand new was at least a couple hundred dollars. I discovered this place and picked up 3 large beautiful, sturdy, quality mirrors for $90. They were sold individually, but I asked for a deal and they gave me one, no problem. I also found a 6 foot tall, 4 foot wide mirror for $40! Everyone loves this piece in our home and comment on how expensive it must have been. We came back here recently hoping for the same 6 foot tall mirror for our new bathroom. I planned on spray painting the frame to make it fit the design in the bathroom, but all of the ones they had left were damaged. The guy working there was really helpful. He checked in several different areas for potential mirrors and made a suggestion for us to switch a frame on one mirror to another that didn't have broken glass. He even asked the owner to give us a discount, $30 for both mirrors since they were damaged. Too bad for us, the mirrors were slightly different sizes and it didn't work. We ended up taking one with a corner that came undone, we just need to glue it back together. We took it up to the owner and he gave it to us for half off, it came to 17! You can't get a mirror this size for a better price! The worker helped us load it and pulled cardboard to wrap the edges to make sure we'd get it home safely. The people here are really nice and helpful. You'll find some great deals.

I scoured craigslist/furniture clearance stores for days on end and found some nice stuff-- but since I drive an Impala, it's rather impossible to fit anything in my car, and I found the furniture stores offered hideous products within my price range. But this place prices were AWESOME. Granted, stuff is used (with an occasional cigarette burn or questionable stain), it's no furniture showroom (Never have I seen so many couches stacked up in a room), and of course there are some glaringly UGLY pieces. Nice thing is--the quality is there (albeit you may have to SEARCH for it), the prices meet or beat Craigslist prices, and THEY DELIVER. I purchased a couch, end table, and nightstand for under $200 bucks with delivery and tax included. Not too shabby. If you don't mind sifting and doing a little extra inspection I would highly recommend Hotel Furniture Liquidators to anyone looking to purchase furniture for the first time without breaking the bank.

When you shop at a consignment shop you expect to find reasonable prices but that's not the case here. Her prices are not much different than what you could find elsewhere except that you'd likely find better quality new furniture for the same or similar price. And in some cases for a little less. I didn't really shop around as much as I should have and that was my mistake. The shop owner was not very warm or friendly. That should have been my first indication to turn around and leave but I thought maybe she was just having an off day or something so I just continued browsing. I noticed a matching love seat and sofa set in the back of the store. They appeared to be in good shape and I liked the color and style so I asked the shop owner what the price was for the set. She quoted me just a little under a thousand for both. That should have been my second indication to leave, and yet for some foolish reason that I will never understand, I didn't. But I will readily admit that this was kind of an impulse buy for me. I had recently dealt with the loss of my husband and decided to treat myself to something new (to me) and different because I just needed a change. I completely fault myself for not taking a closer look at the quality of the furniture, or lack there of. The shop owner told me they were priced just a little above what she paid for them so I didn't want to start haggling, although in hind sight now I wish I would have because the furniture isn't worth anywhere near what I paid for it, but at the time I wanted to be fair because I figured she had to make a living too, right? *sigh* I came back the following day and purchased the furniture. It wasn't long before I realized I had made a huge mistake and wasted my time and money. The furniture is very cheaply made. The fabric snags easily and puckers, the back cushions are lumpy and the seat cushions slide around constantly. All of which is hard to see or notice when it hasn't seen much use and you only get to sit on it for ten minutes in a store. I take good care of my things so I was expecting to be able to enjoy the furniture for years to come but I quickly realized that's not going to be the case this time. I am so disappointed. Unfortunately I can't afford to replace it right now so I'm stuck with it for a while and I just hope that it will last for at least a few years while I save some money to buy something of better quality. Overall I think she does have some nice items if you are just looking for home decor but if you are shopping for an expensive big ticket item I'd advise you to think twice, do your homework, take the time to look very closely at what you are buying and most importantly make sure you are getting what you are paying for. If I'm going to spend that kind of money the next time I buy furniture I will be sure to shop at a reputable furniture store and buy new. At least they usually have some kind of return policy if you aren't happy with your purchase. Lesson learned. Buyer beware.

Since we hadn't worked with a designer before, we started with the quick consult. Jeralyn was great. She looked at our kitchen and made recommendations that built on what we had already done. She prepared a color palate which she left for us. She then made suggestions on flooring, paint and small ways to accessorize. She charged $150 for two hours - which included a follow up phone call a few months later. The best part about working with Jeralyn, was all of her suggestions were spot on. From color choice, to layout of the room, her ideas fit our personalities but challenged us at the same time. She is a very talented designer. Plus, she's also a great artist.
