Both my kids, who are in middle school, trained at this amazing place for a few months. The sessions are in small groups, easy to sign up and navigate through their app. The coaches are constantly engaged, helping the kids achieve or surpass their potential. My kids leave each session fully gratified and inspired. I even see them work on the drills and exercises in the backyard on their on initiative. Really quite impressed with the transformation and establishment of discipline in such a short time. When training/coaching is done right, the kids notice the improvement in their performance and gain confidence through the process. Highly recommend.

My son, who's a basketball player, has been going to Jump for a year and it has made all the difference. It has improved his stamina, strength, focus, and overall physicality on the court. Jump isn't just about weight lifting, it's about training your mind and body for the mental endurance, an athlete needs, to become the best athlete that they can be. From the start of my son going to Jump, to his athleticism now; it's night and day. When my son was unable to train as much, due to his busy basketball season, it definitely showed and I'm so happy he's back in the Lab. The Jump trainers individualize the work outs for each athlete, and my son loves wearing the compression boots, after his session, to help with muscle recovery. There's nowhere like Jump! I wouldn't trust my son's body to any other trainer! Ben and his team of trainers are the BEST!

This is the literal place to be!!! Jump lab coaches set the bar and high. My daughter is a volleyball player and we came here to work on her VERTICLE and body placement. Not only has her VERTICLE increased 4 inches in a couple months, but they've helped build her confidence, stamina, and reactiveness in the court! The team are the bomb.com. We plan on bringing more and more of her team with us. If you're looking for a place that does customized training for what your young athlete needs, this is it!

My issue: if you…read morecancel your membership and you have a buddy pass they will continue to charge you for a buddy pass. I called 5 months after my canceled membership asking to cancel the buddy pass and they told me I had to come in (I moved out of town). So I said whatever and kept paying for about idk maybe 15 months despite not having an actual membership here. I signed up again today because I moved back in town. The nice gentleman at the front gave me a refund of 5 months buddy pass because he states the contract for that is separate from the membership. I had to pay for idk maybe 8 months or so of it without having a membership and there's nothing I can do for a refund on that beginning portion. It was the contract (not really told to me when I signed up). So I signed up again today because I'm back to the area. I'd recommend working out once here before signing up. Mats are kinda ripped and things feel old. It gets the job done but the bathrooms need some work too lol. The outside is dirty with leaves and spider webs which honestly wouldn't even be hard to clean lol. I feel like this gym has more potential. The back room seems more organized than before. Unfortunately I signed up before working out again today lol but it's fine. Also the water machine it gets the job done but it looks 50 years old tbh. It's a cool gym I'd recommend it for what it is. 3/5 is what it feels based on the things above and especially the separated contract of buddy pass and membership since I was moved out of town. The guy at the front was pretty nice aside from this all.

I wanted a gym where I could focus on strength training as its own discipline rather than blending it into a CrossFit or Hyrox-style workout. Just as importantly, I wanted consistent coaching and feedback so I could continue improving. I've tried classes at several other gyms in the area, but Rose City Barbell aligns perfectly with my current goals: learning proper strength movements, understanding progressive overload, and following thoughtful, well-structured programming. The coaching emphasizes building a strong foundation, proper technique, and sustainable progress. I never leave feeling beaten up or wondering how to get stronger--I leave knowing exactly what I'm working toward. As someone who is only five months removed from a major abdominal surgery, I'm especially grateful to have found this community. The coaches have helped me rebuild my strength safely and confidently. My favorite coaches are Kim and Sionann. Kim has an incredible eye for technique and always knows when to challenge me. She's the coach who points to the heavier dumbbells and says, "You can totally do that," when I would never have considered picking them up myself. Time and again, she's been right. Her attention to detail is exceptional, from movement cues to recommending the right footwear (or no footwear) for specific lifts. Sionann is equally skilled when it comes to coaching technique and providing effective cues. She has a gift for encouraging people to give their best effort, even on the mornings when they'd rather coast through the workout. She somehow manages to bring energy, positivity, and fun to every class--even at 6 a.m. Her encouragement helps everyone move better, work harder, and leave feeling accomplished. If you're looking for a gym that prioritizes strength, excellent coaching, and long-term progress, I can't recommend Rose City Barbell highly enough.

Just thoughtful programming, sharp feedback, and the right kind of pressure to grow. She knows how to meet me where I am and still expect more. What really sets her apart is how well she reads personality. She gives structure when I need it, honesty when I need it, and space to be vulnerable without making it weird. I've been able to talk openly about what feels hard, physically and mentally, and she responds with strategy, not fluff. I'm stronger, yes. But more importantly, I feel more capable in my body. And we make it fun!!! If you want smart coaching that respects your brain as much as your muscles, she's it.

I think whether it's worth it really depends on how you use it. If you're just using it like a normal gym, it's obviously way overpriced. But if you actually take advantage of the classes and amenities, it is worth it. The floor Pilates classes are free but the reformer classes are extra. The classes are really high quality with good instructors. For me especially because I hate packing stuff and they provide everything you need for all classes. Even for yoga, you don't have to bring anything. You just show up and they have mats, bolsters, blankets, and everything is clean and ready to go. For me personally, I use it as an escape because I can hit the steam room and take a shower sort of like a spa pass. They provide all the bath products too. I'm not a huge fan of the products themselves, they are drying kind of like hotel products,, but at least they're there, so I don't have to think about packing anything. Another thing is that it removed a lot of barriers because they provide towels, which are always clean and fluffy (and I don't have to wash). I can show up in workout clothes with a water bottle and everything else is provided. As with any gym, though, it's not worth it if you don't actually use it. It's also not a huge social scene, which might be a downside for some people but is an upside for me. I can go work out without worrying about having to talk to people or have awkward interactions around equipment. There aren't tons of people taking selfies or clogging up machines and walkways. It also doesn't get super crowded, which I think is partly because of the price point. Those are all huge pluses for me, but I'm on the more introverted side and just trying to work out, not update my social media or make new friends at the gym. I'm basically paying to remove barriers that usually prevent me from going to regular gyms, plus the classes are quality. I don't have to wait for equipment or deal with a bunch of little obstacles that make me less likely to go. They validate parking, which is another big plus. Between the parking, classes, towels, showers, and amenities, there are basically no barriers. The customer service is also really good, I've never had an unpleasant interaction on my way in or out at the front desk, so the whole experience is low stress. I used someone's referral code from here when I joined and got a gift shop credit/didn't have to pay the initiation fee. Everyone I know has been able to join without paying the invitation fee, so don't pay it, they will find a way to waive it because they want your business. I used someone else's link from reddit, but it got taken down. It got the fee waived and I got a credit, so I'm posting my link in case it helps someone else. https://equinox.com/referrals/003A000001TO5GKIA1 Bottom line is it's worth it if it actually gets you to go or you're already paying for classes somewhere else. If you're already paying for yoga classes somewhere else, that's probably close to $100 a month by itself, and you usually don't get all the extra amenities. For me, the biggest value is that it removes barriers and makes it easy and low stress so I don't avoid it. Having everything provided and not having to plan or prepare makes me much more likely to go consistently and yeah, I could save money and go somewhere else, but I wouldn't go, thus my Equinox membership.

I've been an Equinox member on and off since 2013 -- and had great experiences at SF Union, SF Pine St, NYC locations, Tyson's and Glendale -- and never again. The Pasadena Equinox deviates from Equinox's documented general corporate policies and expect you to know this despite no signs, no notification and no advance notice (mentioning to members at check-in, etc.) The women's bathroom staff were extremely rude, unevenly applying their policies to prevent people in towels from entering shower and knocking on showers mid-shower to demand people exit mid-shower and saying "it's their policy and we should know" Note no manager was on duty -- I asked to speak to someone during gym business hours and there was no one at the gym to speak to -- and my email to the GM regarding this is unanswered. I'm attaching screenshot of Equinox's corporate policy regarding this -- Pasadena is not in line with the Equinox policy, which is 15 mins before close; not 30 -- and Pasadena doesn't document this anywhere. I can't wait to figure out another gym to support instead ASAP.

I've wanted a place that made me look forward to going and not finding reasons to skip out. After some time with ClassPass, a 45-day workout challenge and a dozen-full of memorable buddy pass classes later, I finally made a decision I've been happy with since. Basecamp for the win. Love their lower to upper to full body workout schedule, the alternation between cardio and strength, the change/rotation of class layouts, their equipment, and of course, the instructors and team themselves. Special appreciation for the 9am goers because they became a solid community for me when I was going through some post-grad life transitions and turbulence. Somehow, when I was considering what to properly invest in while sacrificing to save money from other things, this was a good alternative investment that has sparked back some love for workout classes again.
