    An awesome ginger beer!
    Mary D.

It was a hot night and we went in for dinner around 8 pm. Very hot inside this restaurant although the cooling system was blasting. Took about 10 minutes to get a drink but it was quite busy. Tried a new ginger beer that was awesome. Unfortunately the food was not as great as the drinks. The "butter chicken" was possibly the furthest dish from butter chicken that we had ever tasted. Loaded with onions and not at all creamy, this butter chicken really missed the mark. The chicken pot pie was low on chicken. It was served in a dish with a pastry top. The pastry seemed like the frozen kind you can buy at the grocery store. The veggies in the pie were well cooked but unfortunately the sauce was too much. It's a quaint restaurant with a nice interior. It's quite small which is fine when the patio outside can be used. We may drop in again for a drink but will likely not order food. All in all a little disappointing.

English style pub, great atmosphere, daily specials, good draught selection, varied menu with traditional English pub fare mixed in. On the main drag in town. Guinness. Breakfast on weekends. Pricing does not include alcohol.

Brownie and ice cream (minus walnuts)

I went here after a lovely drive in Grimsby beaches area with my daughter and husband Atmosphere- Classic pub. Lots of wood and red coloured velvet seating. Very welcoming. Food- We had the following: 1) Veggie cheese burger and sweet potato fries- Burger was good. My daughter especially liked the bun. soft and not too big for the burger. Sweet potato fries were hot, crunchy and there were plenty of them to share with the aoli dip ( yum). 2) haddock and chips- special of the day. My husband said it was one of the best pieces of fish he has eaten. chips were good too. 3) Steak spinach salad- I asked for the maple walnuts to not be included ( only because i do not like walnuts) and the result was fantastic. The nice light dressing went well with the cranberries and caramelized onions as well as the eta ( I substituted blue cheese for feta) I loved this salad and I would order it again if I am to return. ( My daughter has already planned another visit so i suspect I will be back. ) 5) The dessert I shared was the brownie ( minus the walnuts)- The taste was good but the bottom had a slight burned taste to it. They should have made another pan rather than serve this one with lots of ice cream, It did not hide the burn taste. My husband said walnuts would have made the dish taste better but I just do not like the way the nut overpowers flavours of any dessert for me. Impression- I will be back for the salad. I wish they offered another nut in substitution but when i asked I was told no. My daughter loved the burger so i know we will be back soon.It is hard finding a place with an outstanding vegie burger. So i ha I have been told. I tend not to order them.

Food was excellent and service was really friendly. The portions were smaller than expected for the price, but very good overall!

The goat cheese and spinach stuffing was the highlight of the dish and added a lot of flavour. Unfortunately, everything around it was a bit of a letdown. The mashed potatoes were very starchy and bland, the vegetables were overcooked and also bland and waterlogged, and the overall portion felt pretty small. The dish was also supposed to come with roasted potatoes, but they had run out of them, along with a few other menu items. I also tried the Forty Hazy IPA, which I thought was decent. My wife ordered the Ocean Crown Salmon, and unfortunately it was one of the most disappointing restaurant meals we've had in a while. The salmon was completely overcooked, dry, and even burnt in spots. The dish as a whole just felt uninspired, and she made the difficult decision to send it back, which is something she absolutely hates doing and very rarely does. She replaced it with the Mac & Cheese, but unfortunately that wasn't much better. We both found it to be very lacklustre, and the portion was surprisingly small. She finished it quickly and still ended up making herself something to eat once we got home. One thing we do want to commend was our server. He handled everything professionally and was kind enough to remove my wife's meal from the bill, which we really appreciated. The service was definitely the highlight of the visit. Overall, though, the food just felt like it lacked love, creativity, and attention to detail. Combined with a fairly average atmosphere, this visit just didn't leave much of an impression on us, and unfortunately it's probably not a place we'll be returning to. The space is very reminiscent of an old English/Irish pub. Located right in the heart of downtown St Catherine's, my wife and I were promptly welcomed in by the staff as if we were regulars. After three wineries, my husband was definitely ready for some food. When you walk in, you definitely feel like you're entering an English pub! The bar, and place, ent of the bar was very traditional to pubs in the UK. Our server Lawerence definitely helped with his English accent! When asked where he was from, he said Bristol! He came to Canada after her sister relocated. He originally was a cook, but given his accent, they asked hi. To move to the front! Well done. He was a great server too! Very friendly! We decided to share the sausage rolls and shepherds pie. My husband had two Guinness! I'm not sure where he put it in top of the wine, but glad I was driving. The sausage rolls were very tasty. The mustard that came for dipping was the perfect accompaniment. The shepherd's pie had a dark Guinness gravy that was rich and flavorful. I enjoyed the side of peas and carrots too! Sharing these two was the perfect amount, however we wished we'd got the poutine! It looked amazing, it would've been too much food though. Guess we will need to return! PS: loved seeing the sign for Upper Canada Brewing company! In 1988, I visited them with my college partner as we did a college paper on microbrewers! At that time, they were one of a few. We also had visited Great Lakes brewing in CLE! The microbrewing industry exploded shortly there after! Was a great personal walk down memory lane for my college days!! While Upper Canada was sold, was just excellent to see an old sign!

Service from the bartender was great. He offered up some suggestions, which I needed because they have a large menu loaded with so many appetizing and amazing looking options. I started with their potstickers... They came out with a hard, fried shell and the dipping sauce went nicely with them. Enough to share, or even enough to enjoy and still have room for an entrée. My main dish was their Chicken & Waffle. This isn't some ordinary chicken and waffle, it's definitely an amped up version, made with unique and interesting ingredients, culminating in great flavors! The chicken was so large and very tender - it was amazing! The bacon and sauce on top went with it nicely, and the chive waffle was great with it! Each bite was definitely amazing! This was a great experience, I can see why they have so many reviews and such high stars, those are well-deserved stars!! Definitely recommend stopping in here!
