The Joint Chiropractic in Goleta by far the best I have been to of several other locations across the county. I have been going there for several years. The monthly fee saves me a great deal of money. The adjustments at times have been a bit too hard but sometimes they are perfect. It took time to learn how my body adjusts but the convenience alone is 5-star. It is a quick visit and one of the doctors helped me remove a ganglion cyst which would not go away. I visited this place and was not impressed, it should not be called the Joint but the Clip Joint! They discourage you from paying cash to capture access to your bank account. They encourage you to join the wellness plan, be careful, read the contract you are about to sign very carefully, it's in very small print and if you want to end your membership, you will need to do it in person at the office because they are now in your bank account. When you return to question any of this they will refuse to print a copy of the contract with small print that you may have signed. Not impressed with the primary Chiropractor, The Chiropractor who works on Mondays was very good , sadly the Chiropractor who works Tuesday Through Saturday treats you as if you were on an assembly line. Visited The Joint for some lingering lower back pain that flares up sometimes. I did call to make an appointment, and they were able to get me in later that day, which was great news. Their facilities are nice and definitely do not suffer from that sterile medical office aesthetic. The consultation was quick and didn't seem exceedingly thorough, but then again I didn't have any serious medical history that required deeper investigation-fortunately. The adjustment helped with the pain considerably, but did not fully alleviate it. Can't say if a different chiropractor could have relieved all pain, but I felt nearly 100% by the next day so I'm happy. Overall a good experience. read more

Went here for the $29 initial adjustment. Enjoyed the adjustment and was stoked about the membership. I was not told it required a 30 day cancellation or whether or not I had all 4 visit available (I signed up in the middle of the month). The consult seemed rushed and the doctor didn't seem worried about getting to know my history, which resulted in getting migraines for the following 2 days. I have little to no complaints with the service during my time with the Joint. Visits were always prompt, though the adjustments you get are very general and will only help with standard back aches. However, The Joint will rope you into a "month by month" billing contract that is incredibly difficult to cancel. Having moved to Michigan, they first tried to get me to come in in person to cancel the membership. After several disgruntled phone calls, they finally sent me a form via email to sign. After signing it and sending it over, I was told I would be billed for one more month. 2 months later, I'm being told that I'm being billed AGAIN, that the form was never received, and that I'll be paying for one more month. Avoid this place at all costs, find yourself a reputable private-practice chiropractor. You'll be given greater individual attention, a true diagnostic exam, and in the end the experience will be cheaper for you. The doctors at the JOINT are AWESOME. My neck and back pain was spiraling out of control. I got terrible headaches and the doctors were very knowledgable and patient while working and explaining how to treat the pain! It is SUPER AFFORDABLE compared to other private practices. So you don't need to go through insurance, which is usually a headache. You earn free REWARDS/Adjustments for coming in which is AWESOME. Every 6 visits, you get a free adjustment card. I never wait. I walk in scan my card and get in for an ADJUSTMENT. The staff members are respectful of my time and usually get me in ASAP. They're super friendly! I started going a few months ago for chronic neck pain. I felt welcomed as soon as I walked in. Dr. Brownley really took the time to ask questions about the pain. Not only that, he genuinely cares about his patients. He takes the time to understand you from a holistic perspective which I feel is very rare in chiropractic care. The other doctor (I forget his name) is also very nice and takes the time to get to know you. I highly recommend going here if you need an adjustment. Honestly one of the worst experiences of my life! Tried canceling my membership multiple times, was asked to come back multiple times, on multiple occasions I was told to come back because the doctor was not in. I had to cancel my bank card multiple times and some way they were still able to obtain my information without my permission. I walked it not knowing what to expect, I've never been to a chiropractor. I was welcomed and given the information then waited my turn. As I saw people walk out saying "I feel great, you guys are awesome" and smiling on the way out I hoped that I'd be one of those people and find some relief for my back. A little nervous I was called in. The doctor made me feel very comfortable. Asking questions to know more about me and what I was hoping to achieve from the visit. During the session the doctor was very easy to talk to and it wasn't a painful experience at all. I was very pleased. From my fist visit I already felt some relief and noticed improved posture. I was so excited I called my wife and told her that I finally felt a good difference in my back and not just temporary relief like from a massage. The receptionist wasn't pushy or sales pitchy which was nice. She explained my options and made some recommendations. I ended up becoming a monthly member. I look forward to my next visit in a couple of days. Overall I'd recommend this place to any of my friends and family. Lets just say... AMAZING. I always wondered about chiropractic work - what it was about and how it benefitted my body as a whole. First thing when walking in, the receptionistgreeted me in such a warm, friendly manner. It was apparent she was eager to help because her face genuinely lit up and was ready to get to business. Usually, receptionists look like they don't really care about their job or the customer, but she seemed really engaged and was extremely helpful. I also really like the feel/vibe of the location! Its soooo laid back and relaxing. The music varies, sometimes it sounds sensual(odd) and sometimes it sounds comforting and suppppeeeerrr zen. It also smells really good in there As for the doctor, I've only met with Dr Kevin Brown. He's an interesting character. At first he may seem condescending, but he's actually really intelligent and friendly! You might not understand what's going on with your body or why you feel tension in certain areas, but if you ask - he will gladly tell you. (Plus if you're interested in the field or anything to do with excercise, health, kines, anatomy or so on he will tell you the scientific terminology) . I've been to probably 6 session and I can physically and mentally see changes in my body and posture. I'm glad I considered chiropractic work, and I'm glad I considered the Joint at this location :) definitely recommend! I think the receptionist made everything efficient and very comforting. For my first time ever getting adjusted, this was the best place I could have had for my first experience. The people are incredible kind and professional and makes you feel comfortable the second you walk into the office. The environment is extremely clean and just makes you feel like you're almost in a spa. I needed an adjustment because i slept funny and my usual chiropractor isnt open on weekends...i was desperate....so I went here...my neck was adjusted, but the problem area was not (sternum, spine, ribcage). Love the Joint and Dr. Brownley! The Joint has totally changed my life. The first time I went in I needed a cane to walk, after my very first adjustment though I walked out without it and although I have had a few relapses, haven't had to use the cane now for months. I have multiple medical issues including Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Degenerative Disc Disease and Straight Neck Syndrome. I've been under chiropractic care for most of my life as it's one of the best drug-free ways that I've found (in addition to yoga) to manage my pain and various conditions and keep me in motion. I've never made as much as progress though as I have at The Joint. With traditional chiropractic I often wasn't able to see my doctors when I really needed to because I had to schedule appointments and at times wait 3-4 days or longer to see a doctor. All while in severe pain, having migraines and sometimes unable to get out of bed. The Joint has completely changed that for me though! I can now get care whenever I need it. The ladies in the office are great and super-helpful! I really liked Dr. Mohsen, when he was there, but love Dr. Brownley, he is awesome! I've been going to chiropractors for 35 years and worked in an doctors office for 10 years. My adjustment was fine. I did not care much for the doctor. He talked more about what was going on with him and his life. There is too much "sales talk" to get you to get one of the plans. Yes, it's cheaper but I'd rather pay double at my regular chiropractor and get treated as a patient and not a customer. Also, I went in one time with just my credit card (left my purse in the car) and they required that I go get my ID in order to pay with my card. That was super annoying. I felt like I was just another customer there. I won't go back. read more

So here's the deal. I like a place where I can walk in and not have an appointment and get worked on and walk out. I like a package and especially a package under 100 dollars that entails 4 adjustments in a month and every other adjustment is 10 dollars. I have never seen any other chiropractors and don't feel I need anything super fancy. They have all I need here. I suffer from minimal pain at best, usually achiness. Supposedly I have a muscle strain and whenever I come in a few times the pain nearly vanishes. The key I have found is going a few times in a row when I have pain and then try to go once a week for maintenance. I also do PT and stay active. I find that the current chiropractors working here are excellent with a ton of experience. The lady Jude at the front is very kind. I love the smell of lemon verbena when I come in. I recommend this place if your the type that likes to come in without an appointment and walk out and who doesn't want to pay absurd amounts of money for care. 79 bucks is not a lot to pay a month and the cancellation policy is clear when they sign you up. Anyone who tries to say other wise didn't read between the lines. I believe these people are legit and have no other reason to think otherwise. NAMASTE. read more

But after watching the doctor perform a small miracle for my boyfriend's back pain, I had my first treatment for my neck and shoulder achiness. I am a practicing massage therapist, know the body well, and have experienced a lot of body work, but I myself have been in almost continuous pain for about 10 years.
