I initially came to see Dr. Mike Dyer regarding persistent migraines. Not only did weekly adjustments remedy my migraine headaches but they also helped with hip and shoulder pain- a souvenir from my equestrian days. I appreciate that he operates on a walk-in basis. I've never have to wait more than 6 minutes for an adjustment! read more

I work construction and play soccer, my body is constantly taking lots of pressure. On Friday I did a wrong movement as I was carrying a heavy load and left me with what seams to be a pinched nerve on my lower back. As a first time patient i was unsure of what to expect but rapidly was impressed by the knowledge and professionalism with Dr. Michael and his team. 100% recommended. In my case I visited him 2 times and felt felt immediate relief. I was recommended a full body massage there at the same place. And I'm so glad I took the offer because Sterling (the massage therapist) was basically the cherry on top, getting me to feel a better me. Also takes in wall-ins, your pain doesn't need to wait for a appointment days away. read more

Still loving the walk in flexibility of this place and the price point is not astronomical like some other places that offer the same services. It's the one stop shop to get a good adjustment and massage. Dr. Michael relieved my neck and wrist pain due arthritis. Walked out with no pain. Thanks Dr! read more

I arrived about 5:15pm and was out the door by 5:30pm. I was greeted right away despite the doc being with a patient. The office is inviting, clean, and holding some good, high-vibing energy! Dr. Austin was professional, friendly and knew just what I needed from asking one question. I will definitely return and will refer as many people as I can. $45 adjustments, hassle-free and walk-in's welcomed! Did I mention, this business is family run. Both, Aaron and his wife are chiropractors. Visit their website to read about their cute love story. Thank you to you both for serving our community! read more

This is the only chiropractic facility that I wholeheartedly and genuinely believe has benefitted me. I was always very skeptical of adjustments but am a believer now. read more

Aaron is the best in business. He is so consistent and available almost always; he's a one man show: he'll answer the phone, always has time to squeeze you in the schedule, adjust you, talk about family and so on. Two thumbs up all the way. My family and I have been seeing him for years and I don't how many times has he fixed me when I hurt myself in sports or have a bad neck from compensating movements. I highly recommend him!! read more

We are on vacation and my sister was in pain. She got there at the very last minute, he was able to take her as a walk-in. He was very accommodating and able to relieve her back and neck pain right away. Would give over 5 stars if we could! read more

Dr. Michael is one of the best chiropractors I've had in a long time he is very understanding and knowledgeable. I came in not being able to walk due to a back injury and after a few sessions I was able to fully walk again. At first I did come in to see Dr Austin who I had known for a long time and is also an amazing Chiripractor and if you were used to him they both have similar methods and expertise and I would highly recommend seeing Dr Michael for chiropractic needs. The best part is no appointment is needed , just walk in when hours are open. read more

A fabulous experience, I entered with neck pain, hands asleep and a lot of headache, I left splendid and I could not pay because it doesn't accept a card at the moment. Medicine without humanism doesn't deserve to be practiced, a clear example of how human and professional he is. I recommend it. I will be back soon. Thank you, thank you , thank you ! read more

You won't find a better chiropractor than Dr. Aaron. He is fast, knowledgeable, kind, effective, efficient & trustworthy professional. A quick once a month visit keeps all my backaches, stiff necks and pinched nerves away. My posture is straighter and my consistent visits bring me more joy to my workouts and I sleep better at night! I even feel like I breathe from my diagram better being more correctly aligned in my body. Cash or check, no appointment needed, just check his website or this yelp page for his hours. read more

Best Chiro experience I've had in 10 years. His skill is perfect and bedside-manner makes it comfortable. Cash-only is my only complaint. read more

Dr. Austin should be called Dr. Awesome! My first time ever visiting a chiropractor and he was just fantastic. I play a lot of softball and have been feeling lots of pain from my muscles in the lower back and legs. I called to see if I had to make an appointment and left a voicemail and he actually called me back himself the same day. I came in right before he closes up shop and he walked me through everything. 10 minutes later my body definitely feels a lot better. Such an amazing experience. He's been doing this for as long as I've been alive and you can definitely tell. Would recommend him to everyone! I'm gonna give it a couple days and see if this actually works. read more

Best 2 things about this business is his hours and his work. Oh and he is also a nice guy. He has great walk-in hours and I appreciate the laid back style of his business. No fuss. No needless x-rays. Been coming here the past 4 years and he has fixed all my back troubles- in as little as 5-10 minutes. Thank you Dr Austin. read more

Dr. Austin exudes optimism and hope every day. He consistently answers his phone with, "It's a great day, how can I help you." and he sounds completely sincere everytime, regardless the outdoor weather :-) Same with my office visits, he is a true healer, in that he maintains a positive upbeat vibe consistently, he asks how I'm doing and really listens, shows empathy, and than we get down to the adjustment. His adjustments are consistently superb, I generally ice my back for 10 minutes after, and enjoy getting a dose of Chrisitian Rock music. There have been times when my back was sore the next day, than dramatically improved pain free for weeks to even a month and a half. I notice that I can open up the joints myself, after an adjustment for a period of time, before sitting at a desk types of posture crunches down on the disk and the lifelong nerve signal of pain in the Thoracic region returns, probably related to childhood asthma, and several injuries in adolescence and teen years. And once breaking my left collar bone riding my bicycle to a yoga class age 30! The other thing, is that I was raised by Scientific parents, atheists, and came to Christianity later in life, and my faith waivers, and I question the whole story, the analytical mind etc. Aaron, has prayed for me with my approval, as I have gone through harder times, especially this past year and I really appreciate his praying for me, and the Chrisitan music that I sometimes drive around listening to. I always feel like I get an infusion of renewal in my spirit as much as my body, after seeing Aaron Austin. I often leave thinking, I want to read a little more from my bible, and I should start going to church services at the Calvary chapel again like I did for a while, and responded to an alter call. I went once this winter in February, even though I felt terribly sick from a bug that went around and many suffered. I'd already been sick for 6 weeks (figured I probably wasn't that contagious) I really enjoyed the band performing and the sing a long aspect, the sermon was humorous too. So Yes Yes to the sweet, caring, gentle, skillful and precise chiropractor Aaron Austin, and his walk in any time policy is awesome, and none of his magazines are very political, mostly travel, Santa Barbara magazine etc. His upbeat and genuinely caring energy is a real boost physically and spiritually. (And if you are not a Christian, don't worry about it, the music is just like rock and roll used to be, or country rock, and Aaron is not an aggressive missionary, he simply is a true solid believer and encourager, and most beautifully a real healer and blessing to our community.) read more

I went three times total to this doctor, and I have made up my mind not to go back simply because I feel I was wasting my money. The adjustments were not very deep and my back always felt worse the next day, though it got gradually better, but then very soon felt like it needed more work. I have experienced better jobs where I can go months and months between adjustments, and when they're being done, they feel more effective and comprehensive like I'm getting my money's worth and the doctor really "gets" and reads my body. (Dr. Glenn at Cash Chiropractic in Ventura is $10 cheaper and 10 times better). Plus, just makes me feel weird sitting in the waiting room when every song that comes on has Jesus in it, all magazines are written by the religious right, and everything on the walls is from the Bible. Yeah, won't go back. It's worth the trip to Ventura. read more

Dr Aaron Austin is awesome. He keeps his practice pretty straight forward. Simple adjustments, some cracking and activator work as needed. $40 cash (as of 2011) and 15 minutes later I'm all fixed and out the door. To the other reviewer's comments, yes I've heard religious music in the background but that doesn't bother me at all as long as he keeps doing great work, besides there's lots of travel and other genre magazines in the waiting room to keep me ocupied. My wait has never been longer than 10 minutes. I never have an apt. I just walk in. Bonus: Dr Austin is one of the nicest, and most charismatic people I've ever met, and I've never seen him forget a patients name. All good qualities in a care giver. read more

Can't say enough positives about Dr Austin! I first went to him for tennis elbow as one last attempt before getting a cortisone shot. Thankfully, he fixed it so I didn't have to go that route. Since then, he has continued to provide the best treatment for my whole family. The office environment is friendly and accommodating. read more

I brought my daughter in to Channel Islands Chiropractic when she hurt her neck while practicing for a dance performance. I usually go to an Osteopath but I haven't found one in town, so after a friend told me how great Dr. Austin is with kids, I called and he was able to see her right away. My daughter was nervous and he did his best to put her at ease. After her adjustment her neck got better throughout the day, and she was able to perform that evening. Weeks later she said that a kink which had been there for a while was gone and she thought Dr. Austin helped her. read more

Absolutely Fantastic. I'm from San Francisco visiting Santa Barbara and just needed a quick adjustment. Aaron (the Chiro) was friendly, warm and very knowledgeable about his craft. I've been going to Dr. Aaron for about 10 years now, and for good reason. I've come to him for just about every pain and injury I've experienced. He's helped me get back and active after car accidents, snowboard end-over-end wipe outs, volleyball injuries to my shoulder and ankles, knee adjustments for after ACL surgery, back spasms from lifting concrete wrong, literally you name it, I've had it adjusted and fixed by Dr. A. I cannot tell you how much pain I would be in without seeing Dr. Aaron. He has gotten me back and moving so many times, and beyond that, he makes you feel welcome and relaxed when you come into his office. Dr. Aaron is awesome and I would gladly recommend him to anyone. read more

Feel so much better after seeing dr Austin today! I saw him maybe a year ago for bad sciatic issues didn't need to see him until today. Was a believer the first time I saw him and now again. I have even referred him numerous people that all love him and did not disappoint. Happy!!! read more

This practice is a prime example of how health care should be. I called to make an appointment and I was surprised when Dr. Austin picked up the phone himself and saw me the same day. His sincere interest was to get bet me better rather than bogging me down with paperwork. I can't praise the experience enough. If other health care institutions followed this business model, patients would be on their way much quicker and treated more effectively! Need a chiropractor? Had a great experience here! Needed a new chiropractor for routine adjustments that wasn't crazy expensive. Extremely nice and accommodating. As a first time patient I walked in waited and 10 minutes while he was finishing with another patient and was then immediately seen! Would 10/10 recommend! Make sure to bring cash or check because they do not accept CC! Will be coming back for sure. read more

Definitely as good as it gets! I have been to chiropractors my whole life (over the last 22 years) and have had every kind of adjustment and chiropractor style out there. I really appreciate Dr. Austin's laid-back, no pressure approach. No pressure to sign on for a 3 time a week program or anything...just come in when you need it. His adjustments are thorough, whole body gets worked on and he's very affordable and available - I've rarely, if ever, needed an appointment! You won't be disappointed. The music is uplifting and fun and don't know what the reviewer named Alexandra was talking about, unless you consider Backpacker Magazine, Sunset Magazine, or Running Magazines of a right wing bent. This lady sounds like she has an ax to grind and is focusing on what she hates. I don't even recall seeing any political magazines, but then again, I am always interested in the ones I mentioned and the wait is so short usually, that I don't have much time to read before being called in. read more

By far the best chiropractor I've ever been. I have been to Dr Austin over 20 times by the 2nd visit he not only remember my name but asked how the dirt biking was going and it had been over a month since my prior visit. Now my whole family goes to see him. A Dr that threats you like family!!! read more

It has been eight years since i stepped foot into Dr. Aaron Austin's office and I am still upset about my experience. I came to Dr. Austin through referral when my chronic pain was so bad I could barely turn my head. He referred me to a lawyer he knew to help with my car accident settlement. He had me come in once a week for maybe 4 months (probably 20 visits at the most) and when the settlement finally came he sent the lawyer a bill for $3000, about a third of what I got out of the settlement. Did he help me? absolutely not. Did he lie to me? absolutely yes. He would tell me every time it would be just "6 to 8 weeks" before my condition improved. This was even after seeing him for two months with no signs of any real improvement. I wish he would have told me "look eric, its been two months things aren't improving maybe you should try something else". I wish he ran the bill by me before sending it to the attorney he had a secret inside connection with. I wish he wasn't a Christian because he makes other Christians look bad. Honestly thinking about his fake smile and pamphlets full of BS in his office make me feel sick to my stomach even after 8 years. I am just glad I found yelp to write this review and tell people if you want someone who will whack and crack you in 15 minutes, charge you $40 bucks and keep you spending money on his BS forever, give him a call. If you want to be healed, find someone who actually cares, not just a guy with a fake smile on his face who charges $200 an hour for quackery. If you are looking for a chiropractor, find one on yelp who doesn't have even one terrible review, let alone a few. read more

Dr. Austin is amazing. I hadn't been willing to go to the chiropractor since I was a teenager (I am almost 43 now) but came in to Channel Islands Chiropractic and could not have been more impressed. Dr Austin was super friendly, thorough, explained what was going on, and had me out of there quickly. I feel so much better already and will definitely be back the next time I am in need. Highly recommended! read more

I have moved many times in the past 10 years, and each time you gotta go through 3-4 chiropractors to find the best one in the new town. Do the math, and you'll see I've been to about 30 in recent memory, and Dr Austin at Channel Islands Chiropractic is the best. The vibe in his office is practically enough to heal you without the treatment, its always electric and positive. But Dr. Austin's knowledge and technique are unsurpassed. Apparently I'm not his only fan, as he was recognized as Santa Barbara's Best Chiropractor by the reader's poll for the SB Independent's "Best Of 2010" (and maybe other years too for all I know). read more

Dr. Austin gave some of the most comfortable, smooth adjustments I have ever had. There was no discomfort when he did them, and he made me feel completely comfortable and at ease. I have been adjusted by Chiropractors in the past who weren't actually able to get things to move. I was impressed by how easy he made it seem. No high pressure sales. Just good straightforward care. read more
