Then, after already announcing that there were 15 minutes left before closing, he approached me again and told me I needed to finish my drink right then. The tone and approach felt aggressive and disrespectful. I understand security has a job to do, but there is a professional and respectful way to interact with people. Instead, I left feeling targeted as a Latina, uncomfortable, and unwelcome at an event that was supposed to be about celebrating community and culture.

I returned hoping my kids would experience the same feeling, but unfortunately, our recent one-night stay was a major disappointment. We paid approximately $600 for Room #614. We specifically requested the 600s but were initially assigned a room in the 400s before eventually being moved. The room had far too many issues for the price: filthy floors that turned our bare feet black, a filthy master bedroom deck, a broken front-door lock, no AC, TVs that didn't work, a strange smell upstairs, uncomfortable furniture, a loose shelf, dusty fan, poor-quality utensils, and no basic items like potholders or sharp knives. The food pricing was also difficult to justify: a kids' chicken nugget and fries meal was around $45, while my burger was $38 without fries. The beach access and ocean views are still beautiful, but those positives don't make up for the overall decline in cleanliness, maintenance, and service. It genuinely makes me sad to see a place that meant so much to our family change this much. We were local and only stayed one night, but I would be hesitant to recommend an extended stay under the current conditions.
