I am very disappointed in the service. I brought in 7 Invicta watches to have the battery replaced. They damaged two them and claimed that they were damaged when they received them. This was not true, and if it was, they should have pointed it out while I was there dropping them off. They visually inspected each watch and noted which one needed pressure testing but said nothing about damage (because there was not damage). I will never return to this place and advise anyone that brings in Jewelry of value to document with pictures before turning it over to them. read more

I took my mother's ring in to have it repaired. I had originally taken my ring into Milke's Jewelers in Duncanville. The ring had the three stones set on top of the design and I wanted them channel set. I took it them and when I went in to pick it up, my amethyst was a light lilac color. I pointed it out and they told me it was dirty when I brought it in. I told them I knew my ring and if it had been dirty it would have been that way since it was given to me. They took it back to the jeweler and came back to tell me that they had several stones in the bench and just put the wrong one in mine. I came back a week later and picked up my ring. Unfortunately I never again wore it because I was afraid the diamond would fall out because it looked like it was barely in the setting. It was ugly and I was just not happy with it. Now, several years later I took it to The Jewelry Box. The gave me a quote and I left my ring. I came back and it was not quite right so the took it back. It took a long time to get it back, I think they ended up having it about 6 months. At first I was a little irritated but I knew it was going to take time, it needed lots of work. They ended up having to replace two stones because heat damages them, that made me sad but nothing I could do about it. I am just so happy with my ring. I put it on my finger that day and it has not been off. They completely redid my ring and it is beautiful! read more

we dropped this item off almost a year ago. It is a family heirloom -Elgin railroad/pocket watch, that belonged to my grandfather. It was sent off to the watchmaker to which the first, and only positive response has been that they were attempting to find parts for the watch. We then were told that the watchmaker could not locate the parts, so they would attempt to "make" the necessary parts. It's been almost a year, every time we went to inquire about the status of the watch, "he was still working on the parts," was the standard answer. I now am no longer interested in THEM repairing my watch. I have requested that it be returned to me, and I have been told several times, they would call once they receive it back. Being an authentic Elgin watch, it has a SERIAL NUMBER ,so I will know if it is not the correct watch. The pick up ticket states that they are not responsible for items left over 60 days; however, we have never been contacted to pick up the watch, we've never been called that the work has been completed-nor has it been repaired and every week I call, and have I have been told they have requested it be sent back. At a certain point, I am going to have to assume they no longer have the item and if not, what happened to it? You can not fail to claim an item that they WILL NOT return, nor repair. I have the names, dates and responses to our calls and visits to reclaim the item -which HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED NOR RETURNED to date. I have never received a call from this business concerning the watch. ALL contact has been initiated from our side. I am giving serious consideration to my next formal steps -if I do not receive this item by the end of this month. My advice is to give very careful consideration to leaving your items with this business. Be sure, as I did, to retain any serial numbers, notes and take names. I fully intend to see that this expensive and sentimental heirloom is returned or responsibility is taken, for it's value. I took TWO of my Hamilton watches to this so called, "professional jewelry store repair shop" to get them fixed. When I picked up my watches they destroyed one due to buffing the glass. The owner blamed it on the Asian and Hispanic guys who worked for him. The owner didn't attempt to make HIS STORE mistake right and didn't take responsibility for HIS STORE destroying my watch. Never will I go back. On my second Hamilton watch they lost the helenaroul pin that cost $130 to replace it. From now on I will take ALL of my watches to Jareds in Arlington, TX., off I-20 and Cooper road which is certified in fixing Hamilton watches. These guys do a DAMN GOOD JOB!!!! ...... at screwing up a $16,000.00 100 year old heirloom engagement ring! Brought it in to have it sized and have the center diamond replaced. The ring is platinum and it needed to have the prongs lengthened because the original diamond was a hair bit bigger. I left it with them for a weeks time until I received a call to come pick it up.... What I saw made my stomach drop. He had sized the band and built up the prongs with.... White Gold. I am not a jeweler, but I know you don't mix metals... I asked him about it and he stated that every body does that and it was the cheaper way to go.... for some reason I accepted this. 3 weeks later the white gold on the band where he sized it came apart and caught on the bed sheets, bent the band almost to a 90 degree angle. It knocked out 2 small diamonds and a custom cut sapphire. We took it in the next day and had them look at it. When the guy took it out of the zip lock baggie to look at it it completely broke in half. I about shat myself..... They said they would fix it. A week later we got a call to come pick it up. When we were handed the ring I noticed that a sapphire was missing as well as two small diamonds on the bezzle. I brought this to his attention and said "oh.. oops" He gave me two small diamonds and said to give him a call in a week and he "might" have a sapphire. I told him that it was a custom mine cut sapphire from the turn of the century. His response floored me. He stated that no one could tell the difference.... WTF? Anyways we ended up taking it to De Bules and they quoted us $5,000.00 to just fix what this ass did to the ring and then turned around and said that the head jeweler would not touch it because it was too saturated with white gold. Finally We took it to Leland's Gold and Diamond... They were a life saver.... They fixed everything that the Big jeweler would not touch for an 8th of the price. I accidentally cracked the glass on my Citizen Eco Drive watch so I took it here to have it fixed. They said they'd call me when it was ready. After a few days I called to get an update on the progress and they said 'oh yea it is ready'. Well thanks for letting me know! Not. After I picked it up and got home I looked at it closer and noticed pieces of glass moving around on the face. Not tiny pieces but large pieces that anybody with eyes could see. How a jeweler didn't see it is beyond me. I took it back to them and they took out the glass pieces and I picked it up again. A few days later I noticed a few more smaller glass pieces moving around in it so I had to take it back AGAIN. Thankfully, they reimbursed some money back to me for making me drive out there so many times and wasting my time, but this time at least all the glass was out, I thought. Fast forward to a short while later. My watch was working perfectly and then a day later it completely stopped. This time I took it to a LEGIT Citizen repair service and they said the it needed a new movement. Why? 'Someone opened and damaged the inside movement of the watch'. Could this have happened when I dropped it? Doubt it since it was working fine until I took it there and they had to open it so many times and who knows what damage they did to it. I wasted my time and money at this place and now have to spend even more money to fix their screw-ups. Lesson learned, steer clear of this place. read more

Don't take your prized jewelry here to get work done. The craftsmanship is, well there is none. I took one ring in to be sized and when I received it it was dented and a soldier line was broken. I took another piece in to have a stone set and it came back cracked. An irreplaceable, VERY expensive stone. Sloppy work, no attention to detail, and no regard to the concept that these pieces may be important to their owners beyond a monetary standpoint. I give a neg zero. Took my watch to get a new battery. When I got back, the crystal face was cracked. They said give them a week to replace. After three months calling for an update, and calling the Attorney General's office, they said it was fixed. It was NOT fixed, they replaced with a plastic face and was taped together. I was looking for a jeweler to take a few links out of a unique watch. It was made of all wood and seemed a bit different than the watches I've personally taken links out of. I had tried doing it myself, but kind of messed it up. I searched the area and no one could help me with this watch. I was referred to The Jewelry Box, and as a last resort, I walked into this teeny tiny place, and was greeted by a young girl who appeared to be in her VERY early 20s, and sad to say, I didn't have much hope that she could do the job. it seemed like it would be difficult seeing this watch was made out of wood and seemed very intricate. The girl looked at it and told me she'd be back in 10 min. I heard some banging around in the back and she came back in 10 min. The watch was perfect! And the best part was it was 8 bucks! Way better than the quote at Zales where the "watch guy" may or may not have been back on Saturday before Christmas. The Jewelry Box has been in business for 33 years; that's what the young guy told me. He and the others there were most likely the children or grandchildren of the owners. We had a new seiko watch needing an additional link. I was told to check back in a few days, they might have the links, I called back; told to come later that day. Not only did they not have the links, they tried to charge $10 for nothing. Then and only then they told me to call seiko for the links. Waste of time and money. Prior to my bad experience, I had only ever taken watches to have the batteries replaced, which they did just fine. When I bent the prong on my princess cut engagement ring, I called around to various places and The Jewelry Box said they could fix it. Upon seeing the damage, the owner said he wouldn't be able to repair it and would refer me to someone. But the son stepped in and said he would be able to fix it. So we left it with him. I didn't examine it very well when I picked it up (my mistake!) and paid for it and left. When I got home and looked at it more closely, I found the repair job was a mess! The repaired prong was still bent and angled out, so the stone was set crooked. The prongs had all been retipped and bulged up over the stone. I decided against returning since they obviously were unable to do a proper repair job so took it to another jeweler. He had to rebuild the head. He said that the princess cut should never be retipped like that! I now have my beautiful ring back. I would recommend only dealing with the owner of the company...and if he says he can't fix it....listen to him and take your jewelry elsewhere! read more

I would give this place 0 stars but it wouldn't let me. My fiance purchased my engagement ring from this store. I noticed, when I finally received it, that the prongs looked like they had been chewed up. They were crooked and it looked like the diamond didn't fit in it. I asked my fiance about it and he didn't have a clue why it was like that. They had told him that he was getting a "GREAT" deal. They had sold the ring to him for $500 when they said it was originally a $700 ring. I went to a local jewelry store to try to fix the prongs. The man that owned the store is a good friend and told me the truth. First, he asked me how much my fiance had paid for the ring. And, sadly, he told me that my ring was probably worth $80. Also, my ring was designed to have a circle diamond instead of a square. They just basically stuffed a diamond that didn't fit into the ring. Therefore, my ring could not be fixed. These people are complete liars and are just looking to take advantage of people that don't know jewelry that well (my fiance and I are college students). Do NOT go to them for anything.
