The Jamaica 2 is an excellent party boat with a great captain and great mates. From the moment we boarded until the moment we got off the boat at the end of the day the mates were phenomenal. There are many party boats where mates usually have some kind of attitude but the three mates when I was fishing on May 24th were incredible. No sooner than when we would get stuck at the bottom in the reef, one of the mates would come flying right over and get us out. If our rig broke they were there in seconds to retie us. They were also there in seconds when we had trouble taking off some fish. They came over and very professionally and happily assisted us all day long always with a great attitude. I recommend this boat to everyone if you want to go out and have a great time. read more

If we can give them negative stars we will definitely do it! We had horrible experience with this party boat. We booked and paid three days in advance. We left our house at 4am in the morning, took us two hours to drive there. When we got there they didn't let us to go on board. Coz it's as packed! Crews told me only 25 passengers allowed, obviously they had much much more than 25. And they kicked us out, said there is no space for us. And they don't care we drove two hours. Told us to call office to get refund, and get out from their boat. They were so rude, the attitude was nasty. Another group of two had the same situation as us. We had been calling office for three days, we emailed them, no one ever calls back, no no refund! They were overbooked and over loaded. Worst fishing trip ever! Obviously all these people care about is making money. I thought there would be at least some social distancing, but people were shoulder to shoulder. there weren't even enough places for people to sit. So many people got seasick as well. Everyone's lines kept getting tangled. I learn my lesson. Not going on this charter boat again! read more

Horrible experience!!! If I could give it a negative star I would. The boat was jammed packed you were elbow to elbow absolutely NO social distancing! Didn't catch a thing but aggravation because I spent more time untangling my line and losing rigs because it was so unbelievably over crowded. People were getting sea sick in their masks!l right next to me!! If you like just throwing your Money in the ocean and want to catch covid instead of fish then this is the trip for you!! Crew did an excellent job with the kids! Strider and Rob encouraged, explained and taught fishing skills to all of us. The boat was maintained for its age but the crew made it enjoyable. Absolutely amazing experience, went on a deep sea trip on 2/17/20 and it was a very good time, almost endless bait was supplied and the first mate was a very helpful and chill person, he was there when you need him and helps you with your problems within seconds, I even broke my uglystik rod and he was able to get me another rod to use, he really pays attention to everyone even when he was busy, even though I believe that gratuity was in the cost to get in the ship, you should definitely tip more because he deserves it. Cabin was big with a lot of seats and spacing, was heated and had a women's and men's bathroom, they accept cards and cash, overall a great experience and 10/10 would recommend read more

Went on July 3 and were packed in like sardines. Mate said that regulations were overturned. Had to be over 100 people on boat. Looks like mate lied, still supposed to do social distancing. Just came back from our horrible day on the Jamaica 2. They packed us in like sardines. Seemed more concerned with making money than the comfort of the customers. I basically had to fish sideways so I could fit in. Most of the day was spent untangling our lines or having your neighbors lines tangled and untangling in front of you so you couldn't cost your line. Didn't even catch a throw back. No toilet paper or soap in the bathroom. Never again!!!! read more

The one day I get there ten minutes BEFORE the boat was supposed to leave, they are pulling away. They apparently oversold and my family and I were the last ones to get there. Had a great AM trip with my group. We went out for fluke and sea bass. We caught a few keepers in which we were able to take home, the mates filled for us at the end. Also had a good amount of shorts. Plenty of action to go around. Pot winner was about a 6 lb. The boat wasn't too crowded, it was a weekday, but still had enough people. The mates were constantly going around checking with people who caught, had issues with their gear, etc. Plenty of room for your coolers and gear. Price was very reasonable, plus you can stay for the afternoon trip for a few dollars more. Looking to fish again with them soon. read more

I was on this boat about 15 years ago, and it wasn't all that great. Got an itch to go wreck fishing, so thought I'd give them another try. Caught 2 keeper sea bass on an 18 hour trip. Charged $5 when I booked over the phone ("processing fee"). Mate suggested I move in on others who were fishing (mug) if I wanted better success, but I don't play that game. Tipped the mate who cleaned my fish, other mates were still hustling more tips. Captain fished 2 wrecks all day, why didn't he move? Other fishermen seemed to be doing better (not much). I love fishing, but don't care for the party-boat atmosphere....one day I'll learn my lesson. read more

First time on the J2, and we all had a great time! The mates were very helpful and patient. We went on the afternoon 1/2 day fluke charter, and the captain extended our time on the water by at least a 1/2 hour. He also moved the boat often, looking for the fish. This is one of those places that everyone that lives in or goes to the Jersey Shore needs to experience. I don't even know where to begin. The crew is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and also very friendly. They will help you with as little or as much as you need, from rigging your lines to bringing in and cleaning your catch. The spots this boat chooses are excelent, and I've never been on a trip where I didn't catch at least a few decent sized fish. Speaking of trips, the boat has 2 main fluking trips in the summer: half-day and full-day, the latter being every monday. For inexperienced anglers, I would recommend the half day to learn the basics, and to see if you like party boat fishing. For people who have fished before and don't mind being on a boat for longer periods of time, the full day Monday trips are a must. You not only catch more keepers on a full day, but the boat can go further out in the ocean to better spots. I try to take at least 2 trips every summer, and they are well worth the small fee you pay to get on the boat, which includes, rods, rigs, and bait. read more

Very tough day on the water. The current was so bad we could not hold bottom with 10 oz sinkers. Could not understand why the captain did not bring us in closer to fish. Just to make it a little more comfortable. There was about 20 keepers and not many shorts. Would have been happy if capt. Ryan tried in closer even if we only caught shorts. My nephew got pretty sick. The one very good point is the mates were outstanding, there must have been 75 people on the boat and the 3 mates were very professional and helpful all day long. Next time I fish on the ocean I will make sure the current is not so bad. read more
