One of the last affordable places for a family in Seaside! We had a great time and can not wait to go back!

Our new favorite campsite!…read more My husband and I just came back from our first "real" camping trip. When hotels in Seaside Heights were too expensive, we decided to take our camper out to Cedar Creek. Although it's usually a four night minimum, Cedar Creek kindly accommodated us for two nights. Upon arriving, I realized we were way out of our comfort zone. A lot of these people are "seasonal" campers and camp here for months at a time. I was blown away with some of the setups these people had - one even had a bar! Our neighbors welcomed us when we pulled up to our spot and helped us unload. It was a very warm welcome. We did a quick drive around the campsite and saw a pool, a fire pit for s'mores, playgrounds, kayaks and canoes. It totally took me back to "The Parent Trap". I appreciated the 24-hour security. Everyone took their job seriously and made us feel safe. It truly was a fun experience and I'm looking forward to camping her for many years to come!

We just stayed here for tent camping over Labor Day weekend and had a nice time…read more We stayed on site 54 which is equipped with water and electric. Bathrooms were also decent for communal bathrooms and very quiet. I think the fact that we were mostly among RVs made a difference in the bathrooms not being terrible. I also discovered there are more private individual toilets and showers by the pool and main building which was nice too. We went canoeing which was fine but the creek is probably best navigated via kayak. Canoes especially are hard to steer with small children and the creek was very narrow, twisty and turny with tons of low lying branches and trees. I wasn't a huge fan TBH but YMMV. We loved that it was very quiet, not too crowded and so close to civilization. We opted not to cook on site this trip and it was fine since there is so much nearby. My favorite part was hiking and I want to come back just to explore more!! Definitely recommend if you are looking for a nice weekend that is not too far away (we are from Long Island) but feels like you are away from it all!!

My main concern was that there was a restricted area to ride. We thought it would be small and we would get bored, but that was not the case. The riding area was large with plenty of room to open them up. We would definitely go again.

What's the first thing you want to do after sitting in 2 hours of traffic in 4th of July traffic?…read more Go kayaking for 2 hours, d'uh. We found this kayak/jet ski rental place on www.funnewjersey.com. A double kayak is $35 for 2 hours ($37.45 with tax) and jet skis are $70 for 1/2 hour ($100 for 45 minutes). You can save an additional $5 if you print and bring this coupon: http://www.route72waverunner.com/specials It takes about 2 hours to go around Cedar Bonnet lsland in Barnegat Bay. You pass by wet lands and under the Route 72 Causeway (bridge) twice. Be sure to put sunscreen on and beware of the jet skiers and boats (although the jet skis are going faster, the boats create a bigger wake). Your GPS will tell you that you have arrived at Causeway Boat Rentals, but keep driving until you get to the end of the road to find Route 72 Waverunner & Kayak. Be sure to check out Mud City (make a right at the light and right at the stop sign) for a late seafood lunch / early dinner.

I have held off writing this review for quite some time because of how angry I was after my…read moreexperience here. Time to let it rip! The manager/owner of this place is aggressive and rude, which his staff agreed with me about after he launched into an unprovoked verbal assault on me after renting jet skis. He is a known issue apparently, as you will see if you scroll through the other reviews. In summer of 2019 we visited Atlantic City for some gambling and fun in the sun. We decided to try jet skis at this place. Unfortunately the rules of New Jersey or whatever authority only allow you to take your rented jet ski out into the bay under instructor supervision and ride in a circle. Not amazing, but not their fault either. Whatever. When we got back to the dock I misheard instructions from a guy that takes the jet ski from you, and turned the wrong way (jet skis are loud, and he was far away). He started screaming at me to follow instructions and accosted me for this. All I had to do to correct the situation was turn back the other direction, which I did. He continued to berate me after getting off the ski and as I walked up the dock. I actually thought we were going to come to blows. It was unbelievable. He was way overboard. After we got away from him we reported him to the staff, but they told us that he was the owner, and one of them said he was a "jerk." So if you don't want to give your money to a guy like that, don't rent your jet skis from here.
