Paddle Out is great for paddle boarding or kayaking in the Manasquan River, without the hassle or cost of owning your own equipment. Whether you are experienced or a beginner you will have a great experience. They have guided tours or you can rent the equipment hourly. I chose to take my daughter paddle boarding for $20 per hour. The paddle boards were clean and in excellent condition. The water in the river is fairly calm, especially during the week when most of the boats are docked. This isn't my kind of swimming water (very murky due to all the boats and jellies) but you can definitely hop on/off your board to cool off. You can make a reservation online but walk-ups are welcome. Just fill out the waiver online to move things along quickly. There is a paid parking lot or plenty of street parking. read more

Friendly and happy people makes you happy! Paddle boarding has gotten very trendy these coming years, and I never tried it out. Therefore, my friends and I came here to check this place out and had the best summer day afternoon ever! Finding this place wasn't difficult for me, but my friends were lost for about half an hour. We made an appointment from 1:30 to 3:30pm, but my friends didn't come until close to 2pm. I felt bad for making the reservation and that my friends were late, but the guy there was nice about it! He's so chill and friendly! He said, "It's okay. You still have the boards reserved until 3:30." He said that he'll adjust the prices based on the time we would me paddle boarding! He was amazing! Being with people with a good attitude just puts you in a good mood! Also, the lake is humongous! There's so muck lake space for you to paddle! The view with the boats are very pretty and relaxing. Because we went out too far and didn't realized that it would take us so much time to get back, we were 30 minutes late, but they didn't charge us extra or say anything! It was just a very good afternoon. There are paid parking right next to the paddle boards, but there are also street parking for free right next to them! Afterwards, we went to Point Pleasant Beach and had a seafood dinner! This place it's right next to the beach, and there are many restaurants around the corner or down the street! I love this place! Kayak rentals near Stockton Lake--just rent the kayak at the shop and walk to the water where the waiting employee puts you, your kayak and your paddle in the water and you're on your way. Friendly service. The views are lovely and the water's fine. Just remember--you will get wet so wear something appropriate like a swimsuit or shorts. Bring a plastic bag for your cell phone or leave it in the conveniently provided locker--if you drop it in the lake kiss it goodbye. Not as rigorous as white water--so never fear--just fun for the family! Unfortunately only pay parking is available so factor in another $7 per vehicle weekdays, $12 Fri, Sat. Sun. Paddleboard rental for 2.5 hours was a great amount of time given I'm not super-athletic. For a first-time paddleboarder, these guys were perfect. Friendly locals. Explained just what you need to know and gave you a general idea of the good places to go based on experience + current. A lesson would be overkill for sure. Bonus: They lent me their croakies so I didn't lose my rx sunglasses in case I fell in (which I didn't)! read more

Very friendly staff. I went out with myself and my eight and eleven year old. I would highly recommend this kayak rental place. A variety of choices of kayaks and places to paddle. The icing on the cake for my kids was the short pit stop for crabs and snails during low tide. Lots of fun! A great family adventure! Great Experience! Great Owner ran business! I've been paddle boarding for years in Florida and these guys offered a great experience my first time "down" the NJ shore. Excellent pricing(1hr, 2hr, or text if you need more), helpful staff, and well kept boards. We also had no trouble parking across the street in the lot. We have been back twice and plan on bringing more friends in the future. Just wish we could do this year round. read more

What a great overall experience! Since moving back to the east coast I have been trying to find places to SUP and since I was visiting my parents in NJ this weekend, I thought I'd check out the Jersey Shore for somewhere to go. After a quick internet search I came upon Paddle Out's website and liked that they offered hourly rentals or guided tour/instructions. It was a pretty last minute decision so I called soon after they opened yesterday AM to see if I could make a reservation even though it was only for an hour from the time I called. I spoke to Brian first, and got a call back quickly from Andy saying he could get an instructor to come in for 9:30. I loved the look of the place when I got there and in no time the instructor Scott, another instructor in training, Bethany and I were off and paddling. I've done SUP before but since I wasn't familiar with the area and I'm always hesitant to venture off into unknown areas myself, I was glad I went for instruction as I did learn some new techniques and it was great having people telling me about the area. I would definitely go there again if I'm back in the area! read more

My boyfriend and I were here this past weekend to do some stand up paddle boarding. They had our reservation ready to go, were very friendly when we arrived and the young man that gave us the brief lesson on how to do it was very helpful. We had a great time on the water, and the staff were waiting at the dock to come and help us back onto land and take our boards. When we came back to return our vests and paddles, they asked us how our experience was, which was great. The price was $25 for 2.5 hours which is pretty much in line with the other places to rent paddle boards in the area. We had a great experience overall and I would recommend this business to others looking to rent paddle boards. read more

First time here and first time on the manasquan river tributaries.the person in the shack taking care of us never asked us if we knew where on the water we were or even gave us a map or any info as to which way to go. I had a party of 3 in single kayaks. he was more interested in his beer and socializing with the other employees. the gave us 3 mismatched kayaks and 3 mismatched oars without giving us any choice. completely unprofessional as they just thru our life jackets in the back of the kayak. when we came back i asked for my receipt since he gave me no idea as to what the fee was and he told me that I was asked and declined wanting a receipt when I rented the kayaks. this drunk individual told me three times that I declined wanting a receipt that I was never even asked about. read more

Always come here to rent SUP. The staff is so helpful and it's right on the water so you don't have to worry about transporting the boards. They have everything you need and even have lockers to keep your belongings while you're out paddling. Pricing is totally reasonable. I usually just call ahead in the morning to book a time, or the day before if I plan on going out early, and have never had a problem getting a board.
