Gorgonzola chopped salad, no gorgonzola (goat cheese subbed)
    Pete G.

With some time to kill in Terminal D of DFW airport, I was in the mood for a good salad, and I decided to give the Italian Kitchen a try. I'm glad I did. They had several salad options. I love a good chopped salad, and they had one - the Gorgonzola Chopped Salad. But I'm not a big gorgonzola fan. The waitress was wonderfully helpful and suggested subbing goat cheese instead. Brilliant. Lettuce, bacon, pepperoncini, red onions, cucumbers, radicchio, tomatoes, and dressing (and goat cheese). Incredibly fresh-tasting and crunchy, with a nice kick. Far beyond what I expected for airport food.

Zero personality. Stopped in to grab a premade salad to go. It was close to 10 so maybe they were getting ready to close but it was clear the employees didn't want to be bothered. No greeting. No acknowledgment. Nothing. Just close and be done.

5/27/25- Walking around the terminals and came upon the The Italian Kitchen-.. Not too hungry but they didn't sell pizza by the slice-.. Pizza has six slices -.. Went with a margarita pizza- Hope it's good- Okay it's good!.. I even ate the crust! I ate two.. Crispy crust with a nice tomato sauce.. not too heavy and not skimpy..

    Margherita pizza with added mushrooms

We were seated quickly. The servers were dressed professionally and were polite. Nice decor. Our table was sticky and had crumbs on it. Comfortable seats. Quiet music. Unfortunately they give you straws with your ice water without asking first, which, looking around, few people use. We had a margherita pizza and added mushrooms. It was decent for airport food, but with a very dry and crispy crust.

Egg white omelette toast and what was supposed to be fruit but got subbed for ...potatoes? I wouldn't have ordered this

I recently had breakfast here at the DFW airport. Overall, it was a decent experience. I had a long layover so I had a bunch of time to kill and I wanted to sit down and enjoy breakfast. I ordered an egg white omelette, which is supposed to come with fruit and toast. However, it arrived with potatoes instead of the fruit. Since I had a long day ahead of me I wanted a lighter meal so I was disappointed that they ran out of fruit. I expressed this to the waiter and he and the manager went and found some fruit in the back which I greatly appreciated. I would definitely consider returning here for breakfast should I travel through DFW again.

When we travel out of Terminal D, this has been a stop for us. The hostesses will quickly seat you and the wait staff will make sure you have plenty of time to enjoy your food before your boarding time. Always comfortable seating at a table or hightop. Plenty of wonderful food options and of course cold beer. And if you need to charge a device or plug in your laptop, power is available. Make sure you stop by and give them a try and enjoy!

    Turkey bolognese

Well, I was waiting for my flight and I thought I would have something filling since I have a long day of flying. I had the Turkey Bolognese with whipped Ricotta cheese. Also a side Caesar salad. The food was as generic as the name of the restaurant. The Caesar dressing is not homemade and the croutons were probably out of a box. The turkey bolognese 'Meh' the pasta was terribly over cooked and there was a lot of liquid at the bottom of the bowl. For $19 there should have been fresh shaved Parmesan. Parmesan came in a ramekin but if you wanted more it came in a salt shaker. The highlight was the service. Domingo was very pleasant and handsome. It doesn't hurt to look at a good looking face when you're eating so so food. He gave great service with a smile.

This was a great find at DFW. The restaurant was nice. We sat at a high-top not far from the bar. The menu was streamlined, but with good options. I got the chicken club sandwich and my husband ordered the caprese sandwich. We both enjoyed our food. That said, the egg on my sandwich was hard and not over medium, but it still tasted good. And the chicken was incredibly thin, but again it all tasted great. The seasoning on the fries was on point! The service was good (and fast) and the prices were reasonable, for an airport. We will likely stop in again when we fly through DFW again.

Calm environment with friendly wait staff. The omelette consisted of cheese and bits of bacon and cheese. It's was warm when it got to my table. Texture was smooth with a bit of chew from the bacon bits. Taste had a light sear unlike an egg fu young. Overall, it was a nice start to a long flight.

    Breakfast Pizza

Service was good. I tried the breakfast pizza and I was disappointed with the crust. It reminded of when I first tried making pizza dough when I was twelve. The fennel on sausage was overwhelming and the sauce was bland. The egg contrasted with the marinara sauce. Every ingredient did not complement each other. This was a miss. Maybe swap the marinara with creamy Alfredo?

ITK is always one of my favorite places to visit when I have a layover at DFW. The staff are always so polite & helpful. It's not too loud, plenty of spaces to just take a break & relax in the airport. They have good drinks & even better food. I am obsessed with the shrimp linguine. The steak was good, came with my favorite veggies! Although I will say, the asparagus was a bit too peppered with not enough salt to balance it.

A good airport restaurant in DFW. Most airport restaurants are mediocre at best. Food: We had the burger and a side salad. Good burger, and great side salad. Service: good service Overall cleanliness: average

Both the Tavern and Tycoon are in Flower Mound, and I have not visited, but I have made stops at both Jane and now Volstead. And I have to say, I wanted to be impressed, and I just wasn't. When I went to Jane, the cocktails were not up to snuff. My visit to Volstead, the cocktail was fantastic but the ambiance and food disappointed. I came into Volstead to check out the happy hour. They have a discount on wine, and half off their signature cocktails and martinis. They make craft cocktails, which were impressive, but only have one bartender. It takes time, but they could use another. I ordered a Volstead Vesper. It is a bold martini. Josh made it well. It was well balanced. Boozy yet balanced. And I love a lemon curl. A garnish can really elevate a cocktail. Five stars for the drink. I will come back and order another one. I also ordered their spicy tuna crispy rice. It was rather a disappointment. The serving size was generous, the crunch on the rice was there, and then it fell short. The texture of the rice was on the mushier side. The tuna was NOT spicy. It had been dressed in something, but it brought absolutely NO flavor or anything to the tuna. There was a wasabi cream and a sauce (maybe eel sauce) that dressed the plate, but the tuna was bland. A little soy, citrus, yuzu, sriracha or SOMETHING to elevate and brighten the tuna would have been EVERYTHING. So it just ended up being bland tuna, on undressed avocado, on fried mushy rice with some tasty sauces. It absolutely was not spicy. And with a little something something it could have been rather tasty. Even with mushy rice. When I walked in and sat down, there was no music playing so you were just hearing conversations bouncing off the walls. After about a half hour someone decided they needed some tunes, but then it was too loud and it was hard to hear the bar tenders. I loved the decor, and again, my cocktail was really rather good. The overall feel just felt kind of sloppy. It could have been awesome, and fell short. They claim to have Southlakes best burger, and maybe that is a better choice than the tuna. I may give it a shot. It got rather popular as I was leaving, the crowd a bit more mature. And maybe that is their bag. They have great reviews and high stars, I just didn't feel it.
