Lisa is an amazing piercer, I remember when I just turned 18, and having a 18-year-old's budget I looked and scoured all over to find the cheapest piercers and when I came across all the reviews on ink Pit, I saw that not only was it cheaper than literally everywhere else on the island but she is also amazing it hardly even hurt at all and earlier today I called a bunch of piercings shops and all of them are saying like 140+for a rook piercing?? You have got to be kidding me, but I always wanted to go to Lisa the only reason why I call other places in the first place is because they open it on the little bit later side and I wanted to get it done as soon as possible but long story short EVERYWHERE else has crazy inflation prices... I got my daith and flat pierced here. it was a quick experience. When I walked in i was the only person in the shop but Lisa was immediately rude and made me feel as if i was taking up her time and space. It was super odd, i've never had a piercer ever be so unfriendly. a few months later i went to my usual piercing place to get new jewelry and kinda talked about the Ink Pit to her. she knew who i was talking about because i guess Lisa "botches" her clients and has a reputation of it in the piercing world. my flat jewelry from the Ink Pit was so long but i thought it was okay, and my usual piercer said she was surprised it healed because it was too long to safely heal. i usually don't have trouble with my piercings, but this was so painful and hard to heal. as soon as i got a shorter piece, it stopped hurting and looks great now. their starting jewelry is terrible. this place is cheap and quick and im sure Lisa was just having a bad day when i was in there, but there are much better places to go. and remember, there's a reason why it's so cheap. read more

Honestly the best place on the island to get affordable piercings done by Lisa, the prices have been the same from the past years I came through 2020-2025. During covid times it was by appointment only but I discovered now in 2025 she does walk ins and appointments via call/text/dm (her IG @lisa_pierce_r) Her business hours of piercing is from Monday to Saturday 12pm-6pm but I still recommend to text her so she knows you're coming in, you can find her number on her Instagram bio or call the tattoo studio. She will ask you for your ID, make you sign a wavier, she will bring you back to the room, cleans the area of your choice, marks the spot where she will pierce and will ask you if you like it or change it. Pain level for each piercing: Top Navel 8/10 Earlobes 1/10 Daith 6/10 Rook 6/10 There's no body jewelry there for you to buy, she usually defaults with the plain surgical steel ball and bar. She will give you a paper that has aftercare instructions and it says how long the pain lasts, how long you wait till you can replace the jewelry. She was able to fit us into her schedule and was so sweet and very honest when talking to her online AND in person. So, came in to get my second lip piercing to complete my snake bites. Lisa was super nice throughout the whole process. But When we went to pay, I asked if the bar should be longer. It was pretty tight already and I've had it done before. She told me no, if it's long then it'll stick out all crazy. Tonight, my lip is totally bruised on the inside and outside of it, the swelling went up so bad I had to take the ring out because my lip was pushing on the ring so much it became super painful. I ended up just taking it out since no where else has a piercer available to switch it out and it hurts too bad to even get any of my other rings in. When I got my first one (at a different shop) it didn't barely get this swollen, and it wasn't painful at all. So, I don't know what happened here but this really isn't okay. read more

When I first visited last year March, I didn't know what to expect at a tattoo parlor. I was initially just going for a helix piercing and calling it a day. Fast forward to now, I have gotten a total of three separate piercings from Lisa. I did this for myself. I was hesitant at first but I just go for big or go home. I went to see Lisa to get my piercing. I was at first so nervous and anxious about the procedure being done. I have never had this type of piercing before. Lisa was very thorough and strongly expressed how the after care is really important and is a must. After a week in and it looks so good. Swelling and bleeding stopped after 3 days and I'm cleaning it with saline 2x a day. The procedure was fast, took only 5 minutes and the rest was just talking , prepping only total of 10- 15 min and I was done. I think the pain at first was just me being nervous, then at the second nipple was just as smooth. Please visit Lisa if you want your nipples pierced! After looking at the area I initially wanted the tattoo, and listening to my daily activities, he suggested not starting the tattoo on my arm and going under my clavicle due to me working out every day. I ended up positioning the tattoo on my chest area, still close to my clavicle but not directly under it, and defining not on my arm near the pit. A couple days ago I ventured here to get a nose piercing from Lisa. I've had multiple piercings done by her in the past and they've all been fine. Lisa is very professional and super skilled at what she does! I like her technique. A lot of precision! The pricing on piercings is also very affordable! Piercings are done through appointments only, no walk-ins due to the pandemic. Making an appointment was super easy. Just call the shop and tell them you'd like to make an appointment. I was able to score an appointment for the day after I called. I was also asked for the my name, phone number and the type of piercing I wanted. And to call the shop when I got there and they'd let me in. I was running late to my appointment and I had called to inform them. Lisa answered and I asked if there were any other available appointments for the day. She told me there was one about an hour after the appointment I had originally scheduled for. I took it. I had gotten there waaaaay too early so I decided to order some food from the Kapalama Shopping Center a few blocks away. Then walked over when it got closer to the time of my appointment. Still early, I called the shop and Lisa answered. I let her know I was still early but she told me she could take me. Once inside at the counter she asked for my picture ID and made a copy of it on the form. Then she gave me a pen and the form to look over. I initialed acknowledging I read and understood each part. This was a consent form that outlined any potential risk, liabilities and more. She asked me which side I wanted the piercing done. I told her I wasn't sure. She gave me some good advice on deciding and reassured me that she could mark it and if I didn't like it she could change the placement. Once done with the form, I followed her into the piercing room. I saw the clean piercing needle still in the package. She poured some ink into a container to do the marking with. She cleaned off the area with a q-tip and Betadine. She asked me if I was set on stud jewelry only or thinking about hoops as well later on. This was really considerate! Placement would be important in order to be able to put in a hoop later on. I'm glad she asked this. I told her I'd want to put in a hoop later on. Then she marked it and I approved the location. Then came the moment of truth. I decided to close my eyes because I didn't want to see it happen, lol. Imma scaredy cat, shhhh. She pierced my nose super fast and put in the U-shaped nose jewelry immediately. Such skill and precision! The pain lasted probably a few seconds. My eyes reflexively watered instantly, just as they did when I had my septum piercing done here. And it was done. Super fast piercing. I asked what type of gauge it was and she told me 20. I took a selfie right after and if you zoom in, you can see the blood. Mines bled quite a lot. The blood did get on my mask, so if yalls have a fabric mask you might wanna consider this if you're getting a nose piercing. The nose is pretty vascular I learned. She also gave me an information and aftercare instruction sheet. Very useful. Make sure you read and follow that for the best results! I also like the LITHA method I learned from a body modification forum. It stands for "Leave It The Hell Alone", lol XD Today is day 5 and my piercing is doing good. Been doing some salt and water cleanings on it errday. She told me in about a month I could switch the jewelry out. ____________ I remember when I used to attend Honolulu Community College right across the street from the shop. That had to have been eons ago... 2009 until 2014. Hole-y mole-y! At the time my friends and I were all into piercings. One of my classmates had a brand new piercing and I asked them where they had it done, they told me about this shop. My friends and I decided to check it out. Over a period of like 2 years, I got multiple piercings from Lisa. I think it started with a tragus piercing and a 2nd helix/ cartilage piercing, both in the my ear. She put in 16 gauge stainless steel jewelry, a simple labret in the tragus and a captive bead ring in the helix. I had already had one cartilage piercing in that ear that I wanted the 2nd one to align with. I explained this to Lisa and she was very careful in planning the alignment. I have to say the hardest ear piercing I've had was the tragus. Mines swelled up a lot and stayed irritated for very long. I had to baby it a lot with sea salt + water mixture rinses. It took well over a year for this baby to finally heal. I also got a lower lip piercing, a tongue piercing and a septum piercing. The lower lip and septum were both 16 gauge. The tongue was 14 gauge. The septum piercing is the one I still have to this day. I had lost the staple jewelry in it I had it pierced with and contacted Lisa to see if I could buy another one. She was very helpful and I was able to go to the shop to get another one the same day. I got these piercings done around 2014, I included pictures. read more

For appointments, i called the # and left a message and she called back a day or two. Plenty of parking in the front of the store. She accepts card. Due to covid, you have to wait outside the store, call the # posted and she'll let you in. I guess only 1 customer at a time. Her expertise is proven already. She didn't use an ear piercer gun. I just had a cartilage ear pierce done at Claire's 2 weeks ago and didn't feel anything. But today, with my new cartilage piercings, I surrendered and put lidocaine ointment on the surrounding skin (away from the site) and took Tylenol. It hurts.. and I'm normally good with pain. I've been wanting a nose piercing for a while now and based on the Yelp reviews alone, I KNEW I had to come here :) I called a week in advance to book an appointment (because I'm a planner and I needed some time to mentally prepare lol) but it sounded like there's sometimes availabilities day-of or even day-before. I am SUPER happy with the cartilage piercing I got with a few of my friends. 4 of us came to Ink Pit to get various piercings done. I would HIGHLY recommend calling and making a reservation as their piercer, Lisa, is in demand. We attempted to spontaneously go in on a Monday afternoon and were told over the phone that they were booked up and wouldn't have an opening for another few hours. So we made a reservation for 4 the following day. While we were there, 2 other girls walked in for a nose piercing, no appointment. So they had to wait for us to finish up. The shop is clean and well-lit. It's pretty much no nonsense here. Bring your IDs so they can make a copy for the consent form. The piercer, I think her name is Lisa, was incredibly patient and open to listening to what we wanted done and if it was reasonable. 1 girl got 2 cartilage piercings on her ears, side by side. They were super cute! 1 girl got her flat pierced. She originally wanted another part of her ear pieced, but was told no because that particular area was too small. I really appreciated that for my friend because I felt that other shops may have just pierced her ear and let it heal incorrectly. 1 girl got her cartilage pierced (and she has a ton of piercings) and was very happy with her piercing. I got my mid cartilage pierced on my right ear. At first I wanted a higher cartilage piercing, but Lisa said it wouldn't heal correctly or look right because the curve of my ear would cover the piercing. I was very appreciative of that feedback and decided to piece my mid cartilage. On my opposite ear, I had an upper cartilage piercing that refused to heal for over 7 years and I gave up on it. I wonder if it had to do with the curve my ears?? Because that other piercer, definitely pierced it on the curve. Overall, we are all super stoked and happy. I've come here to get my nips and ears pierced before and Lisa is super sweet in the process. I've come here with various friends in the past too to get piercings whenever we feel in the mood for it. There's a list of different kinds of piercings you can get right on their counter in front and for around $20-60, the pricing is literally not that bad. With the pandemic times among us, you may want to call in out of respect of making sure you can get an appointment in to go get pierced. The most recent visit we did was to get my roommate, Andrew, his first set of lobe piercings! And as nervous as he was, Lisa made him feel comfortable and he walked out even better about it! As I walked towards the tattoo shop I saw the lady Lisa whom I knew was the person I was meeting for my dermal removal. She was so nice, her vibes made me feel very welcome. My appointment wasn't till 1230pm but she took me almost an hour earlier. The process was super quick and she was careful.
