Saw their booth at the Hawaii Tattoo Expo and they had great prices for what I wanted to get so I…read moredecided to get my third lobes and mid helix done. First off, EXTREMELY unorganized. All of their jewelry was stored in plastic containers where the employees were just digging through, without gloves (SO unsanitary), to find the jewelry that the customers wanted. I wanted titanium flat backs because I'm allergic to sterling silver and I don't heal well if it is pierced with steel. The girl who pierced me looked through all the containers before finding 3 gold colored titanium flat backs with silver colored titanium ball toppers. The piercing process started out okay, she cleaned off the area, although not very thoroughly, and marked where she was going to pierce and let me see before she started the process. I don't think they sterilized the jewelry before they pierced me either, even though different, ungloved, employees were digging around in the jewelry boxes just before. She opened a new needle and started on my lobes, these were pretty smooth. The biggest issue came when she started on my mid helix. Told me take a deep breath and she pushed the needle through, then went to guide the jewelry in, but could only get it HALFWAY. I heard her whisper "oh shoot" under her breath before proceeding to try multiple times to push the jewelry all the way through. She asked the other guy, Jay, for help and they both stood there pushing my ear around for a solid 3 minutes before the jewelry was fully through. It was a while before the piercing was done, I could feel the blood on my ear slipping around while he essentially tried to repierce it with the jewelry. Neither of them used a clamp, or even a tube to catch the needle as it went through to the other side, just used their hands which I could feel were slipping off my ear. To top it all off, my mom told me after that they used the same needle for all three of my piercings, super unsanitary! I've gotten thick cartilage piercings done before this (rook, nostril, helix) and I have NEVER had an experience like this. I will not be coming back here, not even for my jewelry changes. The only good thing I would say about this experience was that the lady at the front was polite and friendly, and the girl who pierced me was also nice, I just wish the process of the actual piercing was a bit cleaner and smoother. I hope nobody else has an experience like this, and I hope my piercings don't get infected.

I told them the situation that I already have an initial hole before I came here and made sure I want to get a hole again and I said YES like right away. The piercer which seemed to be her husband was so nice and walked me through everything, and HE DID THAT IN SECONDS. I was like wait that's all? All in all, great experience. You can tell they're experienced. Location is inside the building across of Waipahu Festival Market ( the green building ). Many parking stalls, don't have to worry about that AND they are located on the right side going up the stairs.

I had to stop getting tattooed here because he started acting strange. He told me the last time I got a tattoo from him after the session that I should have some respect for his wife when she comes into the shop. She had came in earlier on in the session but I didn't think anything of it. I accidentally butt dialed him one night I was out at like 1am and that same time after the session he told me not to call him late like that. I was like wtf because I looked at my call log it was definitely a butt dial it was like 10 seconds long. After that I thought that was so strange and never ended up coming to his shop again. Then couple years later I saw that he had an Instagram and someone asked me where I had got a couple of my tattoos from so I was gonna tag him only to find out he had blocked me. Wtf? I am not a groupie by far and I had gotten about six tattoos from him previously even before he had this shop when he was tattooing out of Sudden Rush. Anyways this shop is located in Waipahu on the second level. I haven't been there in years like I said and the last time I was there he had just opened it. They've been in business for a while now. His work is pretty good, but just thought I'd share my weird ass encounter.

He is all about custom work...as how every tattoo should be. But if there is a portrait or drawing you would want to do, Nick will work his magic and do an awesome job! He has an incredible mind for every type of art you want on your skin..black and grey...color...japanese...animation..portraits...tribal...anything! And you won't be paying some crazy Waikiki prices either. His prices are more than resonable for the outstanding tattooing that he does!! And his shop is very clean through out...and his air conditioning is set on cold...so if you have thin skin...bring a jacket..:) So give Nick or Jo a call to set an appointment. Walk in customers are welcome if he is not busy..but that's rare.

The day before my appointment, he emailed me saying he moved to Keesh Tattoo and that he is now increasing the tattoo price he quoted me back in March. I asked him if he could honor the price he quoted me months prior and he refused but offered to refund my deposits. I agreed to get my deposits refunded, but it is now JUNE and I have not yet received my refund. I have emailed him on multiple occasions & reached out via Venmo multiple times and he never responded. I DM'ed him on Instagram & his only solution was to talk to the tattoo shop owner. Spoke with the tattoo shop & they said they can't do anything since this appointment was made prior to Curtis' start at Keesh, which I completely agree. All in all, Curtis is completely unprofessional and lacks accountability and basic respect. DO NOT GET TATTOOED BY HIM.

I found this artist on Instagram and was impressed by their work which is why I had reached out, but the attitude they took up with me was unprofessional. Even their casual reply to my emails made me feel dismissed. I appreciate the recommendation to go back to my original artist, (who unfortunately isn't even on island), but all this could have been expressed in a calmer, more professional tone, which is why I gave the feedback. We stumbled upon them during a fundraiser event and decided to go back to them on a whim one day. Let me just say that every artist there is pretty cool and willing to help everyone out. My go to artist there is Nolan who pretty much has done all of my recent tattoos. SUPER helpful, detail oriented, and always puts out his best work for his clients. What really caught my attention (besides the fact that majority of his style is something I'm interested in) was his hospitality towards me and my friend. always made sure we were completely comfortable with all our tattoos. From the placement, his thought process and even the price points. Solid local braddah.
