It has a dedicated hair salon area there, which you wouldn't know from the name of the business, but hopefully the word will get out soon. Leah is an artist, and deserves recognition in Hawaii. I have followed Leah from her first salon in Kapahulu, to her transfer to a Kailua salon, and finally, to Goddess Aesthetics. I live in East Honolulu, so it is quite the drive across the Pali Hwy, especially with traffic, to have my hair cut. I've done this for the past couple of years because she is worth it. She is the only stylist I've found on Oahu who consistently gives me natural root touch ups (my hair is an Asian brown-black) and beautiful layered haircuts that suit my face shape. I had despaired of finding a hairstylist I could trust, after living in NYC for two decades. I had less than ideal cut&colors in different salons on the island until I found Leah. This review is not to complain, simply to express my experience with Mila at the Face Lounge using a Groupon for a microdermabrasion treatment. Setting up the appointment was simple over the phone. When I had to cancel last minute due to work, she was understanding and flexible with rescheduling another appointment. The new location is in a residential area in Kaneohe. It's easy to miss, but gps does a fine job of getting you there. When I first met Mila she was pleasant, but seemed in a rush. Understandable as I was 5 minutes late due to not being able to find the house. I'll admit the setup in the bedroom upstairs was kind of odd...I felt weird being in a person's home. It wasn't very relaxing and the bed faced directly across a bright window that was pretty blinding as it didn't have any shades. I guess I'm just used to getting facial treatments in a spa-like environment. We started the microdermabrasion, it was my first time, she told me it would feel like sandpaper across my skin. I'd say my skin isn't that sensitive, it's more on the normal side - but wow, did it hurt in certain areas like under my eyes and cheeks...it started to burn by the third time she went over my face. Afterwards she began extractions on my face without steaming and opening my pores. That worried me. It also hurt like heck! She made a comment about how I didn't drink enough water thus dehydrating my skin and making it difficult for her because my skin "just wouldn't give". Hmm maybe it's because my pores aren't opened up?? Shame comment #1. Then she noticed bumps on my skin (milia), which I was conscious about to begin with. I have a about 5 little ones on my cheek. She said, "That's really bad, it's because of improper product usage. You're too young to have that you NEED to go to a dermatologist." Shame #2. At this point I just felt real crappy about my skin...about my face in general, which is so opposite from other experiences with previous facials I've gotten. I usually get comments about how good my skin looks! Then she put on a mask, it immediately started burning my whole face!! On fire!! She didn't believe me at first, but I was like, "This doesn't feel right is this supposed to feel like this?!" So with rough force she wiped it off with a wet rag and that HURT so badly. I was cringing with pain trying to keep quiet, not scream, and be polite. She proceeded with 2 more masks that also burned my face. Wow. Then of course ended with a shame #3 comment about how sensitive my skin was. In the end, I was rushed out because another client had arrived and I left feeling bummed out about the state of my skin with no solutions. Btw, the burning and redness on my face lasted for the next two days.

I used to be a client of Jazmin when she worked in a waxing salon in town, and she branched off and opened her own waxing studio in Kailua! Even though I live smack dab in the heart of Ala Moana, I will happily make my monthly pilgrimage over the mountain to see her - she's just that good. The waxing studio is on the second floor of the building, right at the top of the stairs that's facing the parking lot. Her space is super clean and welcoming, with a waiting lounge in the front. I have no idea how she makes something as painful as waxing such an easy experience - it's amazing how smooth my skin is, with no irritation after. She uses hard wax, which is much gentler than strip waxes (or me trying to tweeze each hair one by one...) She's also very meticulous about brows, making sure that everything is as even as possible, and never made me feel like she's rushing through my appointment. I appreciate that she checks with me to make sure that I'm happy with the shape and fullness before I leave the table. Long story short, Jazmin is amazing and worth the drive! He examined and explained that what was going on appeared to be an autoimmune reaction and he ordered labs so he could treat the root cause and rule out any autoimmune conditions. He also prescribed me a topical steroid which took the blisters away quickly. I continue to be under Dr. Williams care to keep a watch of my body's autoimmune response. During our conversations he asked if I had any other symptoms and I explained that I have been feeling sluggish, fatigued, lack of energy, weak in my legs, brain fog for the past five years. Dr. Williams ran another series of labs to check my adrenal glands and thyroid function. Lab results revealed hypo thyroid. Dr. Williams prescribed me a low-dose prescription and also plant-based adrenal supplements to help increase my T3, cortisol levels and to improve my overall adrenal function. After three days, I begin to feel so much better I wanted to cry happy tears. I feel that Dr. Williams really listened to me and cared enough to investigate when past medical doctors didn't. My underarm hair still grows back just as thick as before, and I didn't notice any meaningful reduction after all of those appointments. Another concern I have is that since my treatments, I've occasionally experienced unusual sensations in my underarms, including itching, burning, and twitching. I can't say for certain what caused it, but I didn't have these symptoms before my treatments, so it has been concerning. Given the cost, time, and number of appointments, I was very disappointed with my experience and expected much better results. I hope my review helps others make an informed decision and encourages the clinic to address these concerns with future patients.

She then applied a serum of antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid. The final application was sunscreen. While the untrained eye, probably couldn't SEE a difference after the HydraFacial, I could certainly FEEL the difference. Clean, fresh, and super rejuvenated! As a follow up, I came in for the Scultural Face Lift with Buccal Massage. This included lymphatic drainage (behind your ears) and microcirculation of my shoulders, neck, and jaw area.
