Best Indian Food Near Downtown ! I tried Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan, paneer Tilkka and Saag Mushrooms Gulap Jamun Is Mouthwatering. Must Try! Highly Recommended

Was pleasantly surprised at how good the chicken tikka masala was. The chicken quality was very good and the texture of the masala was buttery without being oily. also got the mango lassi which was delicious! Nice treat after a long day at work. Definitely my new takeout spot. I'm looking forward to trying other dishes next time.

Legit excellent Indian food. Pretty reminiscent of a classic London Indian restaurant with familiar staples all cooked perfectly.

Great selection of food but the prices are a bit much. Still a great addition to the neighborhood.

An absolutely delightful experience! I was a bit nervous after reading some of the reviews, but we…read moreleft with both our hearts and stomachs completely satisfied. Even my 17-year-old, who usually only prefers homemade Indian food loved it. Here's what we ordered and my thoughts: Papri chaat - The papris was out of this world, with the perfect crunch and a rich, buttery flavor. The chutneys, potatoes, and chickpeas complemented it beautifully. The only small downside was that there could've been a little less yogurt. The sweetness level of the yogurt was just right, but it slightly overpowered the dish. Maybe a thicker drizzle of yogurt would balance it even better. Tandoori wings - Yum, yum, yum! They were perfectly seasoned, spiced and not dry at all. A couple of pieces were slightly overdone, but we didn't have time to think about it because they were so enjoyable overall. Everyone at the table loved them. And a special mention for the cilantro whipped cream, oh my what an unexpected concept! The flavor was a solid 10/10. The texture took a moment to get used to, but once I did, I couldn't stop eating it. Onion bhajjis - We ended up ordering these twice, which says it all! My son couldn't stop eating them. He's never even had pakoras before so these were an absolute hit!!! Chicken tikka masala - The best I've had in a long time. great balance of tangy and spicy flavors without being creamy. Generous portions of chicken and it was tender. I could've happily kept dipping my naan in the sauce all night long. Naan were alright! Slightly flat and overdone, but great with the sauce. Chai - we loved it so much we ended up having 3 cups each! Perfectly spiced and just the right amount of sweetness. Poutine - A bit underwhelming overall, but the masala potatoes were delicious. Honestly, I might have enjoyed it more without the gravy and chicken. Seekh kebabs - kebabs were tasty, but the sauce didn't quite work for me, it was salty, thick and didn't complement the already rich kebabs. I would've preferred them with sweet and green chutneys and maybe a pinch of chaat masala on top. Parle-G & malai kulfi - More than a perfect ending to a big meal. My son loved the Parle-G sandwiches--thank you for introducing him to a classic from my childhood! The malai and cardamom kulfi was delicious. Our waiter was super awesome!

We had their Chicken Tikka and Butter Chicken with Basmati Rice and Naan. For starters, the food was amazing, and the service, too, was amazing. Both easily ranked at the top of what I've had. The pricing, however, is definitely steeper. Most Indian food spots serve complimentary naan or have rice included or at a small surcharge. Here, however, it's like $6... each. And this is on top of a price that is already above average. Outside of the nickel-and-dime pricing, the ambiance was nice and quiet. The water was also very tasty and served in a jar that was easy to refill, and our server took really good care of us.

My plan was to try and find a cheap food truck in dtla but all I could find was Mr. Masala, and i'm thankful that was the case. The total was only $26 for a combo with Chicken Tikka Masala, soup, a giant piece of naan, a tray of rice, and rice pudding. I ended up taking half of everything to go because of how generous the portion was. It was so good for the price, the service was great, and inside the restaurant was nice and spacious. Upon leaving, the lady that I took a picture told me to take the trash outside the building to the streets. Respectfully I did spend money to eat here, it was rude gesture to have me spend money here and have to throw anything outside to the streets. Then she called me stupid and to get out. I regret purchasing anything from here. I never made any disrespectful remarks nor was I being rude at any point. This should not be tolerated. I eat food in the area, this is disrespect to my mine and money. I wanted to like this place but morally speaking it's not worth coming if this is how they treat strangers. I hope people are aware that this kind of activity is going in this business. Love supporting local businesses but my time and money have value and it would not be spent here. She claimed to be the manager. food wise: very important details to consider- just because it's vegan/ doesn't mean it healthy. I had the vegetable potato Samosa - it's deep fried with canola oil (extremely processed oil) consuming oils like these make vegan/vegetarian options unhealthy. It's almost like eating a McDonald chicken nugget. Not saying this in a negative tone, just sharing honest thoughts. The potato was bland, typically with food like this, spices sometimes make up for the dish but unfortunately it didn't. Just a potato deep fried with bread. Lentil soup- had a broth feel to it, it also lacked taste and flavor. It wasn't horrible, it just wasn't great either. This is important because when it's a lentil soup something has to stand out about it, it's a healthier option so the taste makes up for the dish being a healthy. Upon asking, they also add canola oil to this soup. ((Not as much as the other foods on the menu, but still heavy and that gets people bloated) they should consider making foods with coconut oil. The place did seem to be clean. But people make the build what it is)

We started with those super delicate pani puri style poppers. I've seen them on MasterClass and always wanted to try them, so finally getting them here was a moment. Filled with tandoori flavors, chutneys, mint, and a yogurt center that pops in your mouth. So good. Cocktails paired perfectly too. The pickle one and the Purple Rain were both solid gin drinks. Service was great. The bartender and server were both super knowledgeable and helped guide us through everything, which made a big difference with a menu like this. The ambience is beautiful. Big bar in the back, great lighting, a mix of natural and more moody tones that make it feel elevated but still comfortable. For mains, the pot pies are a must. We tried the biryani and the butter chicken versions, completely different but both worth it. Portions are huge, you will have leftovers. The quesadilla with fajita peppers and tandoori chicken was such a cool fusion idea and worked really well. The boneless truffle chicken had this creamy, almost alfredo style sauce with Indian spices that made it super unique. Ended with the saffron noodle pistachio ice cream dessert and that was unlike anything I've had before. Definitely something you try at least once. This is one of those spots where everything feels creative and intentional. I'll definitely be back.

You won't know it's there unless you curiously read the sign inviting you to step inside. It was empty when we came in. There was only one person serving and manning the cashier, but since it was just us, she was able to dedicate all of her time on us. We ordered Vegetable Somosas, Chicken Pakoda, Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan, and a few others I can't remember. All were freshly made, and everything is so authentic. Everything feels like a home-cooked meal made by an Indian grandma I never had. Nothing was overly seasoned or salty. The spices were not overwhelming and nothing too spicy. (I've never really craved or gone out of my way to eat Indian food, but this one really set the bar.) There was only one server, but she was super friendly and always checked on us. Food came in about 20-30 minutes, since we ordered a lot. There is only one, gender-neutral bathroom that is locked, and you need a key to open. Garlic Naan was my favorite out of everything we ordered. Super crispy. It's plain when you eat it alone, but if you dip it in the sauce when you order other chicken dishes, it's amazing. Garlic Naan, Chicken Tikka Masala, and a side of rice is the best combo. Summary: - BATHROOM. One, gender neutral bathroom. - CLEANLINESS. The restaurant is pretty cozy. Lots of open space because we were the only customers. - COSTS. Very affordable. In this economy, I thought each plate would costs $20, but the serving size and quality is very worth it. - CUSTOMER SERVICE. Only one server/cashier at the time, but that wasn't an issue because we were the only customer at the time. She was always on top of things immediately. - FOOD QUALITY. Authentic, great tasting, not overwhelming seasoned or powerful. The perfect balance. This is great because this was my first time eating at an Indian restaurant and I was expecting a punch in the face of spices, but I was greeted gently with the perfect balance of spices. - FOOD QUANTITY. The bowls looked small but ordering any dish with a side of rice will fill you up. - WAIT TIME. 20-30 minutes, but we ordered nearly 8 dishes, so this is relatively quick.

This was easily a 10/10. So saucy, incredibly flavorful, perfectly creamy, and the pasta was cooked to the perfect al dente. No notes. Just insanely delicious. The chicken wings were just okay. I liked the unique twist with the achaar masala and cayenne chilies, but they didn't wow me. I'd probably skip these next time and try a different chicken instead. I was stuck between the pepperoni playboy and the chutney pija; bartender recommended the pepperoni, and I can see why. It had a crispy base with a sweet kick from the onions and honey. Dipped in the yogurt sauce... so good. Dessert was the caramel toffee banana soft serve, and it did not disappoint. Super smooth and creamy with a strong (not artificial) banana flavor, and the toffee on top added the perfect crunch. (Take-out: 03/07/26)…read more IN SHORT: Beyond exceptional - phenomenal - sensational. My take-out was popadoms, mango pickle, carrot pickle, garlic basil naan, mulligatawny soup, chicken buna, chicken balti, fried rice. PROS: insanely delicious and authentic Indian cuisine, succulent tender & crumbly chicken (100% very fresh white meat), melt in the mouth awesomeness, the freshest of spices & ingredients, with exceptionally-good service - top notch, lovely staff. In short, the BEST Indian cuisine I have ever had in Los Angeles. You will NOT regret this choice of restaurant, I guarantee. CONS: Almost none, but I would say the poppadoms were advertised as 4, but were more like 2 - difficult to tell since they come in broken pieces in a small brown paper bag (for take-out); also, the garlic basil naan was a little too 'doughy' for my personal liking, but that's just me - no biggie whatsoever - it was still fabulous. Limited parking on the lot, but street parking all around in the historical neighborhood of sweet Los Feliz. Inside, the main restaurant is medium-sized (cosy & intimate, certainly not cramped) and totally gorgeous - plush decor, terrific ambience, high-class romantic vibes, perfect lighting and music, with very pleasant seating booths for parties of four, and the some additional tables for two. Great choice for a date night. SPICE LEVEL ADVISORY: I had requested my two curry dishes as spice level 'hot', and they really were at the top-end of my tastebud limits (I am a very experienced curry diner from Manchester, England, where hot really does mean hot!) - both dishes were truly out-of-this-world (no exaggeration), but they really blew my socks off - in a good way. Can't imagine having spice level 'very hot' as I'm sure that would be WAY too much for me to handle. But, you on the other hand, should totally go for it - if you dare! :-) In conclusion, I was literally blown-away by this wonderful restaurant - both metaphorically and gastronomically. Thank you to the lovely lady and her brother who made this, my first try-out, unforgettable. From this day forward, my 'go-to' Indian restaurant without hesitation. Finally, I found you! :-)
