Was able to treat myself yesterday for lunch and today all I could think about was getting it again! I started with a mango lassi and an order of samosas - the mint chutney was sublime. I ordered the garlic and paneer naans to go with my main - chicken tills masala medium spice. I knew that I would need to save room for Kheer so I was betting on taking leftovers home however on my first bite I ordered a chicken makhani to go for my kids (mild spice). The naans were plentiful, delicious and soft and airy. The service was polite, attentive but when my lunch mate and I were talking they did not interrupt. Very kindly provided boxes to go and offered other dessert selections when they told us kheer was out. I cannot wait to return! Tasy food from a humble kitchen. Mentor seems like sort of a random place to find Northern Indian comfort food, but it's worth the trek. We were greeted on a fairly slow night by a brightly lit, clean dining room. The staff let us pick whatever table we wanted, so of course we chose a comfy booth seat by the window, next to the ice cream freezer. Furnishings are simple, and ambiance isn't particularly exciting, but the moment we opened the menu my mouth was watering. My friend and I started with Chicken Momos, a lovely Nepalese dumpling perfectly spiced and accompanied by a tomato-ey dipping sauce. This was the first time he had seen Paneer Bhurji and Tandoori Chicken Melai Kebab on a menu around these parts, so of course we had to try these. Both were a little different than the ones he's had in Gujarat before, but still supremely satisfying. The chicken in the Melai Kebab is actually already removed from the kebab stick, saving you the work, and much saucier owing to extensive marination in a yogurt and cashew cream, which they then slathered over the meat with various herbs. It was unique, but I actually found the chicken in the Chicken Biryani even more tender. You can alter the spice level of your dishes, but the Biryani still packed the most heat. Their version of Paneer Bhurji is also much more wet, a gravy that is incredibly comforting to eat with rice or their delicious roti, rather than the scrambled egg consistency you might find elsewhere. We did some considerable damage between the two of us, but still had a decent amount of food left over for another meal. Great value considering the quantity and quality of dishes. Come hungry, and you won't be disappointed. read more

Atmosphere is charming, fitting for an Indian restaurant. Staff is always friendly and quick. I always go to my favorite Butter Chicken and sense I'm not sure about the amount of heat I want they are helpful by giving a dish of the HOT sauce so I can determine my own heat level. The naan is wonderful and if you get the naan basket you choose 4 flavors ( it's a lot ). Haven't tried dessert yet always to full. Definitely recommend this place. read more

We had called them up to check if they'd be open as it was almost time to close for the afternoon. They asked how many we were and waited for our party of three. The place has a nice homely Indian decor, colorful yet not too flashy and a lot of booths which is more convenient for a family. We ordered the paneer makhani (ie butter paneer) and garlic naans and both were perfectly cooked. My mother who's really fussy about her food liked it too! My wife had taken a chicken biryani and l tasted a spoonful... no complaints there either! Also there's a small bar if you choose to have some drinks to go with your food. Excellent for take-out. My first visit but not my last, I tried a variety of items. Loved the Pakodas, the Chile Chicken and the Aloo Gobi. The naan was just ok. The Raita was watery. Ordered Veggie Samosas, Dal Makhni, Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan, and an order of Chicken Biryani for lunch the next few days. Samosas- very small compared to many other restaurants, but they were tasty. 3 to an order Butter chicken- not sure why, but the sauce was really really sweet. Not good. Butter chicken should not be sweet, this is a savory dish. Dal Makhni- Very undercooked for Indian Cuisine, the beans were very al dente, some almost crunchy. Na'an- Garlic bread is always good Chicken Biryani- Quite good, although a bit weird that they put one lemon slice and one cucumber slice on top as garnish. I'd order this again, but that's about it. Will continue my hunt for good Indian Food on the East Side of Cleveland. read more

We ordered butter naan, garlic naan, bullet naan and paneer naan. The naan is made to perfection! It's light, fluffy and fresh. We then split the chicken tikka masala (medium heat). Review based on lunch buffet only. We stopped in with our daughter who is 11. The server asked us how old she is and then responded, "Oh. You have to pay for her. Ten and under can have the buffet free." It was just odd. The temperature in the restaurant was very hot, almost uncomfortable. One of the servers propped a door open, but then there were flies flying around. The temperature of the buffet items- tikka masala, etc, was lukewarm. I got the chili pakodas which were very tastey and come with a mango dip. They are pretty spicy! FYI. The garlic naan was also freaking awesome! Wife had the mutter paneer and she crushed it. It was delicious! I had the bhindi tawa masala again very tastey. I did medium heat but I think I might get spicier next time. It is expensive. Was about $48 for the above. Wish it would have came with rice (thought maybe it did) but does not. We ordered online so I didn't ask before I ordered. Next time I'll buy a side of rice. I'll start by saying the food was fine but overpriced. The kitchen staff seemed overworked due to the large number people waiting for take out orders. The service, however, was abysmal. We had reservations for 3 people. We were seated then waited for 30 minutes without our orders being taken, but the restaurant was not even busy. We finally flagged down a waitress who sent a different waitress our way. We were ready to forgive and move on, but it just spiraled out of control. We then waited 45 minutes for our food, which arrived cold; it had obviously been sitting in the kitchen unnoticed. During that time, other guests arrived, ate and left. We heard our waitress tell 2 other tables she hadn't noticed them arrive. Another couple gave up and walked out. After attempting eye contact and arm waving for 20 minutes for a water refill, I finally asked a different waitress and she brought me some water. My credit card was run yet I didn't receive a receipt. When I approached the waitress and said I'd need one to provide a tip, she acted as if she had never seen me before. I had to point my table out to her. I waited another ten minutes and never received a receipt so I simply left. This was one of the most disappointing and exasperating dining experience I have had. If the food had been reasonably priced, or if I had received even one promised piece of potato in my Vindaloo, I'd give them another try, but that's not the case, so I'm afraid I cannot recommend this restaurant. read more

This is one of the best Indian restaurants I've eaten at. All of the dishes my husband and I have had have been consistent and excellent. The waiter was very nice to me the last time I went. It was just myself and my one year old. I ordered aloo mutter mild so she could have some, but she was struggling a little with the spices. My waiter brought over mango lassi and raita free of charge to help offset the spice and I was so grateful to him. They are always so good to us and we enjoy eating there. read more

This is one of my rare 5 star reviews. The place was super clean and you can smell the spice getting out of the car. The chiccken curry was crazy good right amount of spice.
