My family and I came here on a rainy night craving Indian food. I had the Karapodi Gobi based off the waiter's recommendation and it was fantastic! I never had gobi like that! I would go back just to have that again. The disappointment came with the main course, the Paneer Biryani. It was so dry and there was almost no flavor. It was like having pieces of plain white rice with occasional chucks of paneer. It was just sad to eat and definitely not what biryani should be. The saving grace was the mirchi ka salan -- it add some of the minimal flavor necessary to make it more edible/worth eating. Ambiance wise, this restaurant is definitely on the fancier side for Indian restaurants. It's not your typically sweatpants/hoodie kind of place. Overall, my experience was decent. I probably wouldn't order the Biryani (ironic considering the name) but I would come back for the other appetizers. read more

Service: I ordered 4 mango lassis with my delivery order tonight and none of them were delivered with my order. I had to go pick them up. This is the second time that mango lassis were missing from our delivery order, not in a row, but still a second time for this occurring. The Toast delivery person left my food in lobby area of apartment building where anyone could have taken it instead of bringing it my apartment unit. There is no point in ordering food delivery if food items are missing from the order and then I have to go pick up the missing food items, and then having food orders left in public places where anyone can take them. read more

Update- The manager finally called me the next day and said their kitchen does not use any glass, only metal. However, they use some food from a distributor, so she will definitely look into the matter. She refunded my entire order and offered me a credit to use in the future. I ordered takeout for my family on Sunday evening. When I was eating the chicken biryani, I crunched on a few pieces of something that was super hard so I spit out my food to see what it was. To my shock, I found several pieces of broken glass. Because I have 2 young children, I immediately threw away all the food because it was a safety hazard. I called the restaurant right away and explained what had happened, but they told me the manager wasn't there and would call me back the next day. No one called me the next day so I called again. They told me they would call me back in 5 minutes, and again, no one called me back. Unbelievably, this restaurant does not care at all about the safety of their customers or any safety hazards in their kitchen. I will definitely be calling the health department to report them. I've heard a lot about this place and decided to give it a shot. There was a limited amount of seating and a lot of takeout. It took about 15 minutes for someone to get us water and take our order. The issue is that there is one guy who is taking all the takeout orders, walk ins, waiting the tables, cleaning, and serving the food all on his own. If you have a lot of business, it's important to hire more staff. We ordered our food and it took about 25-30 min to receive it, but he told us he'd get our rice in two min because a lot of people walked in trying to pickup/order their takeout. 5-10 minutes later we got our rice and finally were able to eat. My butter chicken had a lot of sauce in it and minimal chicken pieces. Some of the chicken pieces were chicken skin which was disappointing. My sister got rogan Josh and it had a lot of empty bones with some meat. Overall, the food tasted decent for the price though. Just a few improvements needed. The guy working were was nice, but you could tell he was very overwhelmed with how busy things were. Majority of the problems would be solved if they had more staff working up front, especially on the weekends. read more

Paradise Biryani is a great stop for authentic Indian food and is perfect for takeout! I've only ever ordered takeout from here and have enjoyed it every time. They'll let you know when it's ready and it'll be on the counter when you come pick it up. However, you may need to flag down a worker from the kitchen if there's no one working the floor. They're always so busy back there! The last time I went I ordered the chicken biryani, chicken schezwan noodles and the bhindi masala, all regular spice level. I have good spice tolerance and I thought this was an overall tasty amount of burn! Chicken Biryani: 5/5 A must try as this is what they're named for! This is my favorite dish there. Their chicken is tender and so generously spiced, you can really taste the cardamom and cloves they used! This is going to make your home smell so warmly aromatic. However I'm quite sure they cook their rice separately as it's not as flavorful as I like. In fact, it can make the dish a little dry, though that's what their shorba is for! Be careful though because this light tomato onion gravy gets hot fast. This also comes with a slightly tangy raita which is so fresh and cooling. The egg they provide is a nicely hard boiled lil guy but the lime is stubbornly dry. Schezwan Noodles 4.5/5 This is the only place I've tried this Indo-Chinese street food take on noodles and I do like it! It's very red, but don't worry, the regular spicy is still barely moderately spicy. It doesn't have the distinctive Szechuan peppercorn flavor though. They could be more generous with their vegetables but I did have the fortune of receiving the whole root of a green onion LOL it was kinda tough to chew and the little roots had an odd texture but I will eat what I get. The noodles had a good spring and the dish was very flavorful. Bhindi Masala 4/5 This was my attempt at being healthy. I should have known I wouldn't have liked it as much as the other dishes since I'm not a huge fan of okra and this was still a little slimy. However, it definitely is a very homey feeling dish and makes me feel cozy eating it. They're very generous with their spices here and I know this because I bit into a whole cardamom pod as I was enjoying this. So we ordered a family biryani pack from Paradise 6 months ago. Despite me asking for "mild" spice level - because wife and kids have no spice tolerance, we found out that their "mild" biryani is VERY spicy. Despite the unwanted chest hairs, the flavors were excellent and it was good enough that I vowed to try them again. So we ordered again... and this time asked for "American mild", which is on their menu. We figured that if mild was still spicy, American mild should be pretty tame. Wife and kids took one bite and wanted to call the fire department! They said it seemed even spicier than last time! Disappointed with this return - really wanted the family to enjoy the meal with me. Not sure why they advertise different spice levels if they can't seem to adjust the spicyness anyway. I have been here several times for their buffets. I can say the buffet they had for the Indian independence day was, with out a doubt, some of the best Indian food I have ever had. I have also been here on Wed for their Briyani buffet, outstanding. Came here early on with an Indian colleague for the lunch buffet and it was fantastic. I need to point out that I was one of the only gringo in the place at this time. This was a year and a few months ago. The food was spectacular. Fast forward, came here a few days ago for the lunch buffet and saw many Caucasians, the buffet had been dummy downed and the food was like many of the Indian buffets in the 216. I like Ann's review from December, asked for NO spice and was very clear that I love butter chicken, but can't do the spice. I stressed NO spice, like a baby would eat. It took over 25 minutes to get my takeout lunch, although there was no one in the restaurant and only 1 other person came in waiting for their takeout. He was also told it was going to take 5 more minutes and when I left about 10 minutes later, he was also still waiting. I called to let them know that I spent $16 for lunch and couldn't eat the chicken. She acted very strangely on the phone, saying she would transfer my complaint call. Went again after a long time. Got few things that impressed and some that didnt. 1. Paneer chilly : This was amazing and the best dish and was very filling 2. Malai kofta : This dish was good and kofta was so light and amazing. 3. Mughlai chicken: This was not as expected felt like I was given egg and chicken in tomato curry. I was very disappointed with this one to be very frank. I do not recommend this one. 4. Egg Biryani: I have had better biryani. This one had just Rice and little curry on top of it. I didnt really get the biryani masala. 5. This one is just pointing out that these restaurant charges 5% sanitization fee. The food tastes delicious, especially if you ask for spicy. The interior ambiance is fast casual, like a Chipotle. I received very poor service. The guy took the orders of three tables seated after my table. None of the food arrived at the same time. The lamb entree arrived at least 8 minutes before the chicken entree. The vegetable biryanis arrived 7 minutes after the chicken. To be fair, we were the only table who experienced this problem. Everyone else's food seemed to come out of the kitchen at the same time. Admittedly, I've tried very few of their dishes because I love what I've tried so much for that I can't wait to order the same thing again. - Chicken special boneless biryani: Our go-to takeout dish. Comes with small pieces of boneless chicken on top (likely cooked separately from the rice itself). The chicken is soft and flavorful. They have a family pack which is well priced and serves about four people. 4.5/5 - Goat biryani: By far my favorite dish here, the goat pieces are tender and taste fresh. The rice is cooked to perfection, which just enough spices to not be overpowering. I usually get the Indian regular, which is reasonably spicy. 5/5 - Indian Chinese: If you've grown up in india like me, you'd know there's a special place in our heart for the india version of Chinese street food- spicy and flavorful, their chicken Hakka noodles and schezuan fried rice are a must try! 4/5 read more

Ambiance: This place is definitely not what I was expecting in a Indian restaurant. It is styled in a very modern minimalist motif with lots of greys and blacks, the lighting comes from harsh flourescent sconces over each table that cast unflattering shadows over guests' faces and fatigues your eyes. That said, the service was great with enthusiastic staff coming in to check on us regularly through the meal and making sure our beverages were refreshed as necessary. The food takes a little while to come out but it's typical for a Indian restaurant. Food: Good luck trying to choose among this place's extensive menu, I think they have every type of Indian curry i've seen! I can say that all the curries we had were excellent with tender chunks of both dark and white chicken or perfectly stewed chunks of goat. The sauces were complex but kept light thanks to generous use of coconut and yogurt. If you're struggling to pick, i'd recommend the chicken hyderabadi which struck a great balance between savory, tangy, and spicy. Chicken tikka masala is a great standard dish with a nicely-balanced tomato base as opposed to the hyderabadi's yogurt base. The Aloo Gobi is a cumin-y tumeric-y coated dish of potatoes and roasted cauliflower which is a good dish to cool down on if you're sensitive to spice or just want some vegetables. I highly recommend the mango lassi as well which is deliciously thick and chock full of smooth mango nectar, sooo good! Overall, the decor of Paradise Biryani Point leaves a little to be desired but the food more than makes up for the annoyance. This is probably on the best Indian places in the Midwest and definitely worth bringing people to if they want a good representation of what Indian cuisine is like. For those who love spicy food, a 2/5 here will be mild so i'd go 3/5 or higher depending on how much you like sweating :P read more

I've tired so hard not to be negative but honest is honest. This place used to be good however lately the food and particularly the service have declined considerably. I understand they've undergone either a management or ownership change and sadly it was not to their advantage. They are abrupt, rude and ignorant every time I've called lately for take out and prices tend to fluctuate. Today was it for me though. To think I would pay the same amount for sauce alone that I would pay for the same sauce with a chosen protein. Nah! $12.99 for tika masala sauce with NO MEAT but same price with? Last week and for MANY months prior, the same sauce was $4.99. The owner, who started our discussion with "look here" went on the explain that since he took over, there are no substitutions and the price is the same with it without meat. That alone makes me either scared to eat the meat or disgusted that they'd try to rip people off for jazzed up tomato sauce at the cost of $12.99. Compared to anchor local Indian restaurants like Cafe Tandoor or Saffron Patch they fail to meet the mark anyway. Convenience of location is probably what's helped here. I'm good though. Visited Paradise for take out dinner. As usual, the food is excellent, spice level is spot on per request. Rojan Gosh (lamb) is cooked to perfection, so flavorful and tender. Biryani (chicken) tasted great as well....as far as COVID precautions--10+ people crammed in the kitchen with NONE wearing a mask. Probably one of the worst kitchens I've seen during the pandemic in terms of taking precautions seriously and ensuring cleanliness of the food and preparation. For that, can't give it higher than a 3. Won't return until pandemic is over unfortunately. Hope to come back sometime after and re-review. read more

Got some carry out and put it in the freezer to enjoy during the pandemic lockdown. The food is great even afterA contender for my favorite local Indian food. Some traditional North Indian fare mixed with some less-common (around here) dishes including some Chinese-influenced recipes, unusual desserts, and, of course, biryani. The buffet had more choices (and more spicy choices!) than most. Nice modern decor, and open late-ish. Plenty of vegetarian choices; I'm not yet sure about vegan. read more
