I was a bit hesitant to come here because I thought it was a your average chain self-serve froyo spot. I was WRONG. This place is fabulous! They don't just have froyo, they have sorbet, gelato, and gelato bars. Its a lot of fun to make your own sundae! The employees are always super helpful and friendly. The graduate hospital location has a really nice outside area to sit and enjoy the people watching. There is even a fountain. read more

This is some of best ice cream!!! Live ban, kids movies, they've thought of it all. The owner and staff are very nice too.

If you're thinking about ordering delivery through an app like uber eats or caviar you may want to think twice. Igloo is leaving their walk-up window open which is causing a backlog in the delivery requests. Basically people who are ignoring the quarantine will get their food before you do. Your food will be late and your driver will be left wondering whether that milkshake and cookie was really worth an hour of their time and no tip. And drivers.... when you get to the window to pick up your client's order, the cashier will probably just shrug their shoulders and say, "it's not ready yet, next!" without as much as an apology or a window as to when it might be. Wait about 15 minutes then go back and ask again as they will have surely forgotten you. read more

The Igloo is probably my most favorite frozen yogurt place in Philadelphia, for a number of reasons: 1) It's location is truly "cute." Located near Graduate Hospital, it is situated in the (relatively) new Grays Ferry plaza. After grabbing your fro-yo, there's an outdoor seating area and plaza right outside. Great for families, date night, or just some relaxing solitude. The shop itself is small, with a couple of tables and a couch with TV on the wall. 2) The selection is quite varied. Igloo offers a wide variety of frozen yogurts, sorbets, gelatos, shakes, cones, and igloo pops. For all dispensed yogurts/sorbets/gelatos, allergy and nutritional information is displayed right above the dispense. The topping variety spans from fruits to chocolate/crushed oreos, to a separate nut topping case. I think this is by far what sets apart Igloo from other places. 3) They have outdoor movie nights, especially in the summer! Again, great for families. A TV with extra seating is set up outside just adjacent to the plaza. 4) The staff is very friendly and makes a sincere effort to get to know each and every one of their customers. They remember regulars. Overall, the Igloo is not just a go-to yogurt place with great options for a respectable price. This location is special for its attention to family and community, making it an enjoyable place to come to time and time again. read more

Good self-serve froyo. They had a Greek yogurt flavor that was delicious and tart. Also dark chocolate. Some of the toppings were behind glass and I felt uncomfortable having the guy scoop it for me so I opted out of those toppings. I had a peanut butter/rice Krispy sauce that was also delicious. Over good service and atmosphere. Not crowded for a Center city place, also seating is available. read more

Love this place! During the summer I love walking here to get yogurt and hang out by the fountain. I also appreciate the fri night movies for a low key evening when it's beautiful out. I don't normally like frozen yogurt, at least not to satisfy my chocolate craving, however I love this place! My favorite combination right now is the dark chocolate sorbet with peanut butter low fat yogurt. Not as bad for you in terms of desert and delicious! They have a ton of toppings and syrups to choose from so you can create a lot of combinations. Check it out! read more

Igloo is my favorite place in Philly to grab froyo. Menchie's is my all-time favorite, but there aren't any here. I always grab two flavors--usually the greek + one other. Flavors I've had are the coffee, peanut butter (both so good!), but last night I had the cookie dough (which was okay). There are a standard amount of toppings to choose from: candies, fresh fruit, granola, nuts, and some sauces. Nothing too special. But man oh man. I would cry if I could never have the greek frozen yogurt again--it's that good! So creamy and rich and all around just fantastic. That's definitely what keeps me coming back! read more

This place is pretty great! Decent prices and friendly staff, I love to take my nephew here! Self serve froyo and lots of different topping choices are the main thing here, the yogurt is really good, and they have lots of flavors (usually around 8 or 9 with staples that are there all the time and some rotating flavors), including a greek frozen yogurt! The toppings are plentiful. Plus the fruit and other items are always fresh...I have never been here and been disappointed when checking out the toppings bar! They also have gelato, gelato bars, sorbet, and water ice. My nephew always has to get a doggie ice cream for his dog as well, which they sell for those who have pets in the area or with them! Its a small shop with a few tables, but they also have seating along side the windowed wall. Outside, there is also a little area with lots of seats, tables and a fountain. A great place to bring kids or to come here and satisfy that sweet tooth craving in the summer or when the weather is nice enough! Staff is fantastic as well, they take the time to get to know their customers. They know my family at this point, so I love coming in here whenever I can! read more

Very tasty custard and froyo! They have a goodly number of toppings, too. I wish they had some more topping options though. They do have this chocolate and peanut butter crunchy-something topping that's pretty nice!! And, the woman who has been there the few times I have, is always super nice and friendly! read more

I love frozen yogurt...and I love not having to walk down to 4th and South Street to get delicious self serve frozen yogurt! We stopped by here last night and was immediately greeted by the workers. They have a decent selection of flavors, although not as many as other local FroYo places in the area. I was huge fan of the strawberry...it was bursting with flavor and tasted like fresh strawberries...very crave-able. The vanilla, peanut butter, and original tart were all a perfect balance to get well with a variety of toppings. My only complaint was lack of fruit toppings... they only had strawberry, mango and blueberry... read more

Perfect place to go on a hot summer day. Outdoor seating that's great for any group size.

I didn't know what to expect when I walked into the Igloo but I was impressed with their organized and clean approach to Fro-yo as well as the many options they offer. In addition to Fro-Yo, they have all kinds of Gelato, Sorbet, and Water Ice. I was in a Gelato mood and settled on the Salted Caramel and Dark Chocolate Hazelnut flavors. I should probably tell you that the Salted Caramel was life-changing and probably the best Gelato flavor I've ever had. The Dark Chocolate Hazelnut was really good too and added a nice balance to the 2 flavors. My girlfriend soon regretted her decision to get Fro-Yo and couldn't get enough of my Gelato. She was in dessert heaven and I was impressed by this new neighborhood spot. If you are searching for some good Gelato and don't live around the corner from Capigiro, check this place out. read more

Second time here and I had an even better experience than the first! Their Greek yogurt (my favorite flavor ever out of all the froyo I've tried in my life) machine wasn't working properly so I was bummed - the guy working said to just wait a couple minutes to let it redo it's cycle. While I was waiting he was diligently trying to get as much as he could for me - then gave me a discount and a free extra ounce once the machine started working again! Seriously the best service I've ever gotten - I'm coming here again and again! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! read more

The Igloo - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Best yogurt in the area, now also serving Yogorino! The Greek yogurt is great, they also have other options like custard and ice-cream sandwiches. Staff is always friendly. read more

Amazing selection, even have vegan options. Staff is friendly and always in a good mood. And have delivery options for when I am lazy. A+

I really enjoy this place and love that it is 2 blocks away! My favorite frozen yogurt so far is the raspberry pomegranate and the Greek yogurt. These flavored are delicious. I usually mix these two flavors and top it with granola. Also, I am glad they brought back the lemon syrup! It hardens into a sweet shell on the frozen yogurt and tastes delicious when it mixes with the yogurt and granola. Please keep the lemon syrup on the menu!! read more

A great stop for anyone in the graduate hospital area ..I recommend the cookies and cream frozen yogurt with the mochi topping. The gelato bars are pretty good dipped with the hard chocolate shell I like how this place offers a variety of options such as water ice and milkshakes A little pricey with the weight of your yogurt but definitely worth a trip --they do offer punch passes so you can get your10th purchase for free! read more

Great flavor. I really like their froyo. Space is a bit messy (the topping section), and I agree with previous comments about the sticky floor. Still, amazing choice. pS: Good vegan options. read more

Stopped here for the first time impulsively on my walk home yesterday because I saw an open table outside and it was a gorgeous day. I'm an ice cream fan and don't usually go for frozen yogurt, but this place is going to convert me. The woman behind the counter asked right away if I'd been there before, and when I said no she explained how it works, and I love their system! You just take a big cup and fill it however you want with flavors and toppings, and pay by weight. I was still a little cautious so I only got cookies and cream with a couple toppings, but it was wonderful. I also loved how many toppings were available- really anything you could want, even my favorite- cookie dough bites. When I paid, she punched a card that will give you a free cup on your 10th visit. I live just down the street and I'm planning to make this place a regular stop during the summer. Great customer service and great product. read more

The grays ferry location is so much more dirty than the Fishtown location... Half of the selections were low or partially melted, ALL the surfaces were covered with streaks either drips or residue from being wiped with dirty towels. While friendly, the staff person was also unkempt and clothes covered with dirt, she was unaware of waiting customers as she conversed with friends. I would not come here again to eat anything - but the front yard was nice. read more

First time I throw a yogurt away. I'm not sure if something was wrong with the batch or what, but I'm, a fro yo fan, couldn't eat the plain and throw it away. Maybe because I had it at night. Not recommended! read more

I've order here three time and this will be my last. I ordered the churro cone every time. Each time came with less ice cream. This time there were basically nothing but the churro cone. Such a disappointment when places are struggling for support and this is what they give you. What a shame and disgrace, but never again. read more

Got all the froyo ya need. Also a must is mochi and you best believe they had some Bomb mochi!

This place is great! The owner is so kind and always willing to be part of the community (contributing to schools, showing movies outside, etc. ) They've done a great job making changes to keep everyone safe during COVID. Oh, and the yogurt is delicious too! read more

I am very happy to have discovered the Igloo. I live a few blocks away and I popped in a couple of weeks ago to investigate. I basically made a small cup with vanilla yogurt, chocolate sorbet and some peanut butter yogurt. The young woman behind the counter was friendly and urged me to try the hot chocolate topping. I did...and added some brownie bits for good measure. ;) It was really, really great. (Actually better than ice cream??...maybe I just don't feel as guilty?) I've been back a couple of times, once with my parents and another time with friends. Everyone has been impressed. Having tried most everything, I'm still hooked on the peanut butter...BUT the salted caramel gelato (which is a behind the counter specialty) is probably the best thing they have...its really quite delicious. Highly recommended... read more

LOVE The Igloo because they sell Yogorino yogurt!!! The white chocolate wafer sauce is second to none, and I want to bathe in the pistachio sauce. The chocolate shell is also better than any other. You really can't go wrong with any of these toppings, and the original yogurt is just the way froyo should be. Best in Philly, for sure! read more

Absolutely amazing frozen yogurt. I got the large with a mixture of chocolate and vanilla. I had three toppings. It was delicious. I also got two yogurt ice cream sandwiches to go. They're in my freezer and I just can't wait to eat them. The service was wonderful and the staff was extremely friendly. They followed social distancing guidelines and CDC regulations. read more

Great place to go with kids!! The woman who works there (possibly the owner?) truly loves her job and kids. Every time I go there, she is running I hold the door for the stroller on the way in and on the way out. That aside, the frozen yogurt is so delicious! A great amount of variety, fresh toppings, and I highly recommend the pistachio hard shell. So glad they opened one in center city, too! Equally delicious and a very pleasant staff. read more

Two years ago Graduate Hospital was in desperate need of places to grab a quick desert. Then, Rita's and The Igloo both opened! The Igloo has succeeded in tapping in to the market here, and has quickly made work of becoming a community spot. Let's start with the Froyo - It's fantastic. They consistently have a very good selection, and there is enough of a rotation to keep things interesting. While there could be more of a topping selection, the toppings are very delicious and are just right. Fruit tastes fresh, chocolate is the right temperature, just right on. Prices are good to boot, and they have a rewards program. What really sets The Igloo apart is location. The actual store has a small seating area, but the location is right on the Gray's Ferry Triangle. SOSNA has done an amazing job fixing up the triangle and making it a great place to hang out. In warmer months the biggest selling point is that you can kick your feet up at the fountain, with Igloo in hand, and relax. The staff even have a TV and have kid and grown up movie nights throughout the year. That being said, it's December, and this place is still rocking, strongly suggest folks nearby check it out. read more

Clean inside and reliably good fro-yo. Employees are always friendly. Tons of options for both yogurt and toppings, and in the summer they have outdoor (children's) movie night, which is cute. Great spot to have in the neighborhood. read more

I ordered the water ice. I had to explain to the employee what the menu said it was and was then overcharged. A scoop was placed precariously on top and promptly fell on the floor. The person working behind the counter said, "that sucks" when I asked for a napkin to clean it up. Not only not offering to replace it, but also not assisting in cleaning it up. The remaining scoop wasn't particularly good either. read more

It's one of the first really warm nights in Philly and I just walked in and immediately back out of this place, and I can't believe anyone else is willing to eat here. There are cookies smushed all over the floor, overflowing froyo dripping onto the floor, and a disgusting toppings bar. If this is what they let you see imagine what they don't. The cashier is just sitting there doing nothing to help clean up the obvious mess. read more

I've always been a die hard yogurino fan...until I tried this place. I love the creamy consistency of their froyo, and their greek yogurt flavor is tart and sweet and delicious! When you order a smoothie you get to pick your own toppings, add your froyo flavor(s) of choice, and they'll mix it for you, which I found pretty cool! Plus theres an adorable outdoor seating area with benches and tables for those perfect summer nights :) Igloo has become my new go-to place! read more

Went here looking for something that could compete with Pinkberry w/in Philadelphia city limits, and I can say that my mission still seems to be unaccomplished. To start, I hate having to ask the cashier to pour samples for me at a self-serve yogurt bar. The flavors that I did taste weren't anything special. I was really looking forward to the Greek yogurt flavor, but it wasn't tart and the texture was as thick as concrete. I went for the original tart, which was their best flavor in my opinion. The toppings bar was a little sparse and I didn't like how they were separated. Overall, an average experience. Also, stuck to froyo, no one is going to compete with capogiro on the gelato front. read more

I was so happy to see that there is a Frozen Yogurt place in my neighborhood and couldn't wait to give it a try! I always see people outside so I figured that it would be great but I was honestly a little bit disappointed by all of it. Although the flavors are good they are very limited. There are few topping choices in comparison to other places but the overall quality is fine. The employee was great and she just couldn't stop talking but I enjoyed the conversation. Overall it's a great spot for the area but I wish that they had more to offer! read more

Thanks for coming to the neighborhood, Igloo. From the fact that everyone who lives south of South is carrying an igloo cup we can see you're doing well and we hope it stays that way. Lots of nonfat yogurt options that I didn't like as much as yogorino but it's growing on me- especially the greek variety but the machine is always having issues. Try the krokko topping-peanut butter and rice crispies that the friendly owner reminds me is "for extra protein." read more

Tasty, but overpriced. I paid $5 for what I thought was a small amount of frozen yogurt. I didn't have toppings or anything extra in the cup. I'm disappointed because I like the yogurt, but it should have cost about $3 for the amount I had in my cup. read more

This place is great! Adorable store and really great fro-yo. They even have hot toppings, some of which are imported from Italy! It's a bit of a hike from my place, but I'd go out of my way for it. It's that good! read more

every time i've been here so far i have found a vegan option that is fruit based and no palm oil. this is HUGE. im aware the flavors rotate but so far so good! the vegan topping options are varied - they have nuts and coconut. pro tip: they charge by weight so fill up on how little or (in my case) how much you want! read more

The last thing a girl like me needs is a froyo joint opening up right where she lives - especially a good, cute one like The Igloo seemed to be based off of the number of people I had seen checking them out before I succumbed to my heart's desire for a cool treat on one of the first warm days of 2013. I went in the early evening, a bit after 6pm after a good workout class (thank god for calorie burn), and there were several small groups sitting and standing outside where they had tables and chairs set up. Almost immediately after I entered, a little boy ran in, his father not far behind, yelling out exactly what he wanted to get, so excited for some froyo that you had to smile at his adorable enthusiasm.Their prices are about what you can expect at all of the other froyo places, both self-serve and fixed price. I was able to taste a few flavors before finally grabbing a large cup for self-serve. There were I think 8 self-serve flavors and two specialty flavors that you had to order by size, plain Greek yogurt and Salted Caramel Gelato. After tasting the caramel gelato, though, I HAD to get a small size of it in addition to my froyo, and raced home with my prizes. They have a small selection of toppings, mostly candy, nut, cookie/brownie pieces types of toppings, plus like 6 different sauces, too, clearly appealing to the kids/families in the area since there's less of a health emphasis on the toppings. I skipped toppings since I could add my own at home if I wanted (yay pretzels!), and tucked into my sizable cup of froyo: Dark Chocolate Sorbet: as dark as you would expect from a dark chocolate ice cream or gelato, a seriously deep, rich, creamy, satisfying chocolate flavor that you would not guess is sorbet. Peanut Butter: a very sweet and light peanut butter flavor, not natural tasting, but probably something kids would like. Red Mango has a better PB froyo that actually tastes like natural PB Vanilla: very pronounced vanilla flavor, people who LOVE vanilla will definitely enjoy this flavor, and it seemed a bit icier than the others Cookies & Cream: very light flavor, kinda icy but less so than the vanilla, it tasted like a cookies & cream milkshake due to the light chocolate-vanilla flavor Caramel gelato: super creamy, rich, sweet caramel, incredibly delicious, I highly recommend getting this flavor over the others - although you may regret not getting more once you finish. I certainly did - yeah, it's that good. read more
