Treated my daughter and I after a few hours of playing in the park. Its a quaint establishment with blue and white themed walls. I didn't know what flavors to expect but decided on having lime, although Greek yogurt was delicious too. I believe there were only 8 flavors so i was slightly disappointed. My daughter chose cake batter with Reese's peanut butter and chocolate toppings. My topping were coconut, honey and almond pieces. Both desserts were tasty. The lime was deliciously light in flavor and blended well with the toppings. The price was based on weight and the orders totaled to a little over $7. Overall although the treats were good, I wasn't impressed at all. Need more selections for certain. read more

At Igloo, it is all soft served, which is especially great if you have had recent dental work, but is also just great in itself. The soft serve comes in sorbets and frozen yogurt plus their 2 super special frozen items- a FAGE Greek yogurt flavor and a Salted Caramel gelato, both homemade. I skipped the traditional strawberry, chocolate, etc. in favor of the 2 specificity items. Both are served behind the counter, as opposed to the rest which are self serve. I topped it off with fresh strawberries, mango, and brownie bites. The Greek yogurt, made from 2% milk, is a pretty great low fat option. It is tart like Pinkberry/Red Mango, but more refined in my opinion. I really really liked it. But then there was the Salted Caramel. This is seriously divine. Its so creamy with a hint of burnt sugar balancing the sweetness. *I got to try this on preview day, so I have no idea how much it all costs and if it gets expensive! read more

I have to agree with Michelle C. when I say that froyo isn't typically something I go crazy over. Yeah it's got that creative "build your own sundae" thing going for it, and it's supposedly "healthier" than ice cream (whatever that means). But this spot has changed my mind in a serious way. This is a neighborhood go to for me. First of all, it's got that local feel. It's situated on the little Grays Ferry triangle that this summer got turned into a small pedestrian park/picnic locale. There are always families surrounding this place, along with all other neighbors. There's elderly couples, there's young couples, there's me, by myself, filling my yogurt cup to the brim. The staff is always warm (in the Igloo, get it?!) and they are BRILLIANTLY open until 11pm even on weeknights, maybe even later during the weekend? Yes. The flavors are great and the selection is not too vast that you'll get caught up in a "what should I get?!" crisis. The toppings bar is always freshly stocked and they will replenish something for you if not. I like that there are other options-gelato, gelato bars, and it always seems like they're thinking of the next thing. I love the loyalty system, which is essentially a free yogurt for ever 10 you buy. It's more of a point/money system but that's what it works out to for me. I am obviously quite loyal. Any why wouldn't I be? This place is down the block, and there is a tasty greek froyo with toasted almonds and chocolate chips waiting for me. See ya later. read more

I was a bit hesitant to come here because I thought it was a your average chain self-serve froyo spot. I was WRONG. This place is fabulous! They don't just have froyo, they have sorbet, gelato, and gelato bars. Its a lot of fun to make your own sundae! The employees are always super helpful and friendly. The Igloo is probably my most favorite frozen yogurt place in Philadelphia, for a number of reasons: 1) It's location is truly "cute." Located near Graduate Hospital, it is situated in the (relatively) new Grays Ferry plaza. After grabbing your fro-yo, there's an outdoor seating area and plaza right outside. Great for families, date night, or just some relaxing solitude. The shop itself is small, with a couple of tables and a couch with TV on the wall. 2) The selection is quite varied. Igloo offers a wide variety of frozen yogurts, sorbets, gelatos, shakes, cones, and igloo pops. For all dispensed yogurts/sorbets/gelatos, allergy and nutritional information is displayed right above the dispense. The topping variety spans from fruits to chocolate/crushed oreos, to a separate nut topping case. I think this is by far what sets apart Igloo from other places. 3) They have outdoor movie nights, especially in the summer! Again, great for families. A TV with extra seating is set up outside just adjacent to the plaza. 4) The staff is very friendly and makes a sincere effort to get to know each and every one of their customers. They remember regulars. Overall, the Igloo is not just a go-to yogurt place with great options for a respectable price. Love this place! During the summer I love walking here to get yogurt and hang out by the fountain. I also appreciate the fri night movies for a low key evening when it's beautiful out. I don't normally like frozen yogurt, at least not to satisfy my chocolate craving, however I love this place! My favorite combination right now is the dark chocolate sorbet with peanut butter low fat yogurt. Not as bad for you in terms of desert and delicious! Igloo is my favorite place in Philly to grab froyo. Menchie's is my all-time favorite, but there aren't any here. I always grab two flavors--usually the greek + one other. Flavors I've had are the coffee, peanut butter (both so good!), but last night I had the cookie dough (which was okay). There are a standard amount of toppings to choose from: candies, fresh fruit, granola, nuts, and some sauces. Nothing too special. But man oh man. I would cry if I could never have the greek frozen yogurt again--it's that good! So creamy and rich and all around just fantastic. That's definitely what keeps me coming back! read more

This place is pretty great! Decent prices and friendly staff, I love to take my nephew here! Self serve froyo and lots of different topping choices are the main thing here, the yogurt is really good, and they have lots of flavors (usually around 8 or 9 with staples that are there all the time and some rotating flavors), including a greek frozen yogurt! The toppings are plentiful. Plus the fruit and other items are always fresh...I have never been here and been disappointed when checking out the toppings bar! They also have gelato, gelato bars, sorbet, and water ice. My nephew always has to get a doggie ice cream for his dog as well, which they sell for those who have pets in the area or with them! Its a small shop with a few tables, but they also have seating along side the windowed wall. Outside, there is also a little area with lots of seats, tables and a fountain. A great place to bring kids or to come here and satisfy that sweet tooth craving in the summer or when the weather is nice enough! I love frozen yogurt...and I love not having to walk down to 4th and South Street to get delicious self serve frozen yogurt! We stopped by here last night and was immediately greeted by the workers. They have a decent selection of flavors, although not as many as other local FroYo places in the area. I was huge fan of the strawberry...it was bursting with flavor and tasted like fresh strawberries...very crave-able. The vanilla, peanut butter, and original tart were all a perfect balance to get well with a variety of toppings. The grays ferry location is so much more dirty than the Fishtown location... Half of the selections were low or partially melted, ALL the surfaces were covered with streaks either drips or residue from being wiped with dirty towels. While friendly, the staff person was also unkempt and clothes covered with dirt, she was unaware of waiting customers as she conversed with friends. I would not come here again to eat anything - but the front yard was nice. read more

I didn't know what to expect when I walked into the Igloo but I was impressed with their organized and clean approach to Fro-yo as well as the many options they offer. In addition to Fro-Yo, they have all kinds of Gelato, Sorbet, and Water Ice. I was in a Gelato mood and settled on the Salted Caramel and Dark Chocolate Hazelnut flavors. I should probably tell you that the Salted Caramel was life-changing and probably the best Gelato flavor I've ever had. The Dark Chocolate Hazelnut was really good too and added a nice balance to the 2 flavors. My girlfriend soon regretted her decision to get Fro-Yo and couldn't get enough of my Gelato. She was in dessert heaven and I was impressed by this new neighborhood spot. If you are searching for some good Gelato and don't live around the corner from Capigiro, check this place out. read more

I've order here three time and this will be my last. I ordered the churro cone every time. Each time came with less ice cream. This time there were basically nothing but the churro cone. Second time here and I had an even better experience than the first! Their Greek yogurt (my favorite flavor ever out of all the froyo I've tried in my life) machine wasn't working properly so I was bummed - the guy working said to just wait a couple minutes to let it redo it's cycle. While I was waiting he was diligently trying to get as much as he could for me - then gave me a discount and a free extra ounce once the machine started working again! I really enjoy this place and love that it is 2 blocks away! My favorite frozen yogurt so far is the raspberry pomegranate and the Greek yogurt. These flavored are delicious. I usually mix these two flavors and top it with granola. Also, I am glad they brought back the lemon syrup! Stopped here for the first time impulsively on my walk home yesterday because I saw an open table outside and it was a gorgeous day. I'm an ice cream fan and don't usually go for frozen yogurt, but this place is going to convert me. The woman behind the counter asked right away if I'd been there before, and when I said no she explained how it works, and I love their system! You just take a big cup and fill it however you want with flavors and toppings, and pay by weight. I was still a little cautious so I only got cookies and cream with a couple toppings, but it was wonderful. I also loved how many toppings were available- really anything you could want, even my favorite- cookie dough bites. When I paid, she punched a card that will give you a free cup on your 10th visit. I live just down the street and I'm planning to make this place a regular stop during the summer. Great customer service and great product. read more

LOVE The Igloo because they sell Yogorino yogurt!!! The white chocolate wafer sauce is second to none, and I want to bathe in the pistachio sauce. The chocolate shell is also better than any other. I am very happy to have discovered the Igloo. I live a few blocks away and I popped in a couple of weeks ago to investigate. I basically made a small cup with vanilla yogurt, chocolate sorbet and some peanut butter yogurt. The young woman behind the counter was friendly and urged me to try the hot chocolate topping. I did...and added some brownie bits for good measure. ;) It was really, really great. (Actually better than ice cream??...maybe I just don't feel as guilty?) I've been back a couple of times, once with my parents and another time with friends. Everyone has been impressed. Great place to go with kids!! The woman who works there (possibly the owner?) truly loves her job and kids. Every time I go there, she is running I hold the door for the stroller on the way in and on the way out. That aside, the frozen yogurt is so delicious! Two years ago Graduate Hospital was in desperate need of places to grab a quick desert. Then, Rita's and The Igloo both opened! The Igloo has succeeded in tapping in to the market here, and has quickly made work of becoming a community spot. Let's start with the Froyo - It's fantastic. They consistently have a very good selection, and there is enough of a rotation to keep things interesting. While there could be more of a topping selection, the toppings are very delicious and are just right. Fruit tastes fresh, chocolate is the right temperature, just right on. Prices are good to boot, and they have a rewards program. What really sets The Igloo apart is location. The actual store has a small seating area, but the location is right on the Gray's Ferry Triangle. SOSNA has done an amazing job fixing up the triangle and making it a great place to hang out. In warmer months the biggest selling point is that you can kick your feet up at the fountain, with Igloo in hand, and relax. The staff even have a TV and have kid and grown up movie nights throughout the year. That being said, it's December, and this place is still rocking, strongly suggest folks nearby check it out. read more

The person working behind the counter said, "that sucks" when I asked for a napkin to clean it up. Not only not offering to replace it, but also not assisting in cleaning it up. Went here looking for something that could compete with Pinkberry w/in Philadelphia city limits, and I can say that my mission still seems to be unaccomplished. To start, I hate having to ask the cashier to pour samples for me at a self-serve yogurt bar. The flavors that I did taste weren't anything special. I was really looking forward to the Greek yogurt flavor, but it wasn't tart and the texture was as thick as concrete. I went for the original tart, which was their best flavor in my opinion.
