My wife and I decided to go to Doug's Diner in Windsor for breakfast. Today is Saturday at 8:30am…read more Place is getting packed already. Lucky for us, they have a two chairs table available, so we got seated right away. The young lady hostess said "Hi" to us and walked us to our table. Our waitress is Andrea. She was friendly and professional. My wife has gluten allergies so Andrea was telling my wife what options she can have. Glad to see that the wait staff is familiar with their Gluten Free options. My wife and i decided to order their breakfast item called "The Basic". Comes with 2 eggs, 3 thick slices of bacon, hash browns and choice of bread. I ordered their breakfast item grilled biscuits and my wife ordered the GF bread. Even though the restaurant was packed and busy, we got our food in about 22 minutes. Not too shabby. Our foods came out hot and fresh. Our waitress Andrea was attentive. She checked on us a couple of times. As far as the taste of our food goes, both my wife and I enjoy everything except for the breads. My grilled biscuits were hard and dry. My wife's GF toast was overly toasted. Very disappointing. When we got our check, they charged $1.50 extra for one GF bread that tasted awful. That's ridiculous that they charged that much for a single bread. Overall experience, it was good. We would probably come back here again for breakfast or lunch and check out their other foods.
