This is one of my favorite rock n roll clubs/bars in Iowa! Located right off the Mississippi where…read morethe boats are docked to shore, this is a great place to cast your anchor and hang out for a night and watch some music! When entering the bar you might think you are in a different land, and in a different time! It feels kinda like an Irish pub in a dungeon! But there's a pool table so you know your safe! There are two long bars one on the side room where the music is and one in the main room! I have been here numerous times of the past 10 years and the bar tenders always seem to be the same. And they are great! Prices are great too, you can get your fancy whisky or craft brews, but they also carry cans of PBR, and Old Mil for us on a budget! The music room is great, it has great sound, and Aaron H. who has booked here for years brings in great stuff, a totally curated room of music! The locals just come here cause there is live music and they usually leave satisfied in their choice cause Aaron has great taste! I have been lucky enough to play here a few times and every time I have had a great time! They have a great back patio as well, but like I said they are right off the Mississippi so it might get kinda buggy sometimes! This is a total gem if you find yourself in Dubuque!

If you're with folks who wouldn't be comfortable in seating that height (as we were), not to worry! They have additional traditional table seating through a doorway to the right of the bar. They have a large menu so there's definitely a little something for everyone. I ordered the brie grilled cheese with fries. It was good. I expected more flavor from the brie (it tasted very mild) but the jalapeno jelly added a nice sweetness and a bit of flavor. The atmosphere is your standard pub. It's in a historical building and they provide a bit of the history on their menu which was neat to read. The service was accommodating and efficient. Get to it!

Upon arriving, we noticed…read morethat there was a table with approximately 20 guys but it a sports bar and they're used to having large groups, with all the conferences held around Dubuque, so we thought we should be ok. WRONG!! ( One waiter and one waitress) ‍) Waited 20 mins before even getting asked if what we wanted to drink. Mind you, we were ready to have a beverage and order by that time. I ordered the pick 3 and a beer. Chips, ceasar salad, and chicken and dumpling soup. My lunch companion ordered a chicken wrap and chips and a beer. Easy enough, right?!?! Wrong! Out beers finally got poured and then sat at the bar, for what seemed like an eternity. Finally brought those to us. And then we waited and waited and waited. Finally our waiter came back with just my chips. And we were back to the waiting game. By the time the rest of the food came, we NEEDED another beer, just to endure the wait. Oddly enough, they sat at the bar again. My salad was fine but the soup was cold! And that was the only hot thing that we had ordered. Short story long, it was a 90+ min lunch, for basically soup and salad. They need to figure out their food and staffing issues before I ever step back into this place!!
