Almost impossible to get someone to help you on the floor... and by phone it is worse! Currently, I've been waiting on the phone for a quarter hour to get hold of someone. I have ordered items for store pickup a few times (when I have NO other option) - the tracking tells me the item has arrived in Squamish, but it takes days for it to show as ready for pick up. And, when it is "ready" for pickup, I usually have to wait half an hour or more for them to located the item and bring it to the front. The main value of Home Depot customer service is to make us appreciate how efficient the municipal rezoning process is. read more

Very poor customer service. I was looking for a specific item. The first sales person I questioned sent me to a totally wrong part of the store. When I asked a second person about the item, he first told me he didn't have the knowledge to answer my question. Then he tried to answer, but it was clear he could not answer my question. When I tried to get more information, he said he would have someone knowledgeable come and answer my question. I waited for around 10 minutes. This is a nice Home Depot. It's not very different from the Home Depot Stores in the flatlands. It is nice that they usually offer to help you, because honestly, I don't think I would find anything in there on my own. I would just wander endlessly. It is really conveniently located behind the Walmart, so I find myself here sometimes instead of the Canadian Tire. I have bought smoke detectors, and towel bars. Due to it's convenient location I have also looked here when they did not have what I was looking for at the Walmart. The employees are generally friendly and the restrooms are nice, but I slightly prefer the Canadian Tire. Maybe because it's smaller or just different from the stores in the flatlands. I am sure if I needed lumber or a new vanity this would be where I would go though. I have never asked for help with a home improvement project, so I cannot comment on that aspect of their service. Overall, it's a good store and it's nice to have a hardware/ home improvement option so close to Walmart, which has a very limited selection. I think it more than a two-star place (which is the only other review it has received) , although I can not speak directly to the quality of the advice, as my need for advice has been limited to "I need another one of these." I web-ordered a tool from home depot.ca, estimated shipping was 3-9 days and i opted for inshore pickup. 3 physical in store inquiries, and 3 phone call based inquiries to see the status of my order, every time answered, "its been sent". 41 days after placing my order, I spoke with a manager and was informed...the item was on backorder and had not been sent. I was lied to on 6 occasions. I canceled and re-ordered on amazon. arrived 4 days later. Home depot is a joke. #homedepotfail #useless #fail read more

Poor customer service! I was just looking for a simple sticky trap for gnats. The system was showing there was 21 units available, I found none. So I found someone the works on the sector. I was standing around this person for several minutes and the person was just walking around slowly looking for something for someone. No interest in offering for help or asking to wait. I don't mind waiting when I know the person knows I have a question. Then I talked to two different people from nearby sectors. They didn't find the aisle in the computer and one asked me to keep looking and the other sent me to customer service. Got in customer service, then the person asked to go back to the sector and look for that not helpful guy. So I returned to the person responsible from that sector and he saw the picture and basically said that aisle and said that if it's not there, he doesn't know. Great job, HomeDepot! I left the store after looking around for 20 minutes. I had the option to buy and pick up. I could have done that to see if someone could really do something. Anyways. Home Depot from Squamish is a big no no for me. read more

I generally shop at the Burnaby Homedepot and the staff there are generally unfriendly and unhelpful, I always feel like I am on my own there. Recently I needed to shop at the Squamish Home Depot and what a surprise right from the greeter at the door to the people who waited on me in the flooring department they were all excellent gave me good info and as I was browsing n different departments there was always and I mean always a salesperson asking if I needed help that never happens in the Burnaby store I always have to go looking for them. I just love the Home Depot in Squamish - the staff are always friendly and courteous and always anxious to help me find just the right product for my projects.
