I also found there are more local made products within the store so as to support local producers, yes, the price maybe a bit higher then national brands, but if we all chip in and help buy local, we are helping our society to recover faster! The bloke at Urban Alpine was soooo helpful! He spent quite a long time measuring and fitting boots for me, my husband and our friend. He wasn't pushy at all, and showed me a few different options. He also took into account our each of our skiing styles to recommend the best possible styles for each of us. In the end I bought some ski boots (I love them!) and he told me to come back after using them a few times to see if they can further improve the fitting. My friend found a really good pair that were more than 50% off, so he was happy too. My husband wasn't able to find any boots that fit him perfectly, but after the advice we received here, we have a better idea about what to look for.

Well first off it's the prices and range of products. These products are largely focused on park skiers and boarders, but even if that isn't you, you can still find something. Prices are usually pretty good, especially in the off season. I have been to the turkey sale in Whistler at Thanksgiving 3 times now looking for fairly important purchases (first boots, then a jacket, then skis) and all three times I've ended up going back to Urban Alpine because of better prices and availability. The service is the best I have ever experienced in a ski shop, possibly the best I've ever experienced in any store. They always are quick to help you, and have knowledgeable and honest staff to answer every question. This is particularly nice, because the Whistler Blackcomb outlet store that is basically in the same strip mall, rarely has anybody that knows what they're talking about when it comes to skis. I have also asked on two separate occasions of they have a specific item, and when they didn't, they offered to order the item for me for no extra charge! I am always amazed by this store, and will always do my best to go there when I am in need of something ski related, even though it is very far away from me. I hope others do the same!

I have ordered items for store pickup a few times (when I have NO other option) - the tracking tells me the item has arrived in Squamish, but it takes days for it to show as ready for pick up. And, when it is "ready" for pickup, I usually have to wait half an hour or more for them to located the item and bring it to the front. The main value of Home Depot customer service is to make us appreciate how efficient the municipal rezoning process is.

I was immediately drawn to this place seeing the entrance with dried plants as an archway. The whole space is bright and makes your soul happy. Lots of great smells and plants decorate this place. They carry various items like plants, plant care, facial items and bath products, pottery, net grocery bags, aroma related items, and more... I ended up walking out with their Squamish Solstice buttercream lotion and a Matcha Milk bath ball. Their Squamish Solstice buttercream lotion is very popular; I took the last one! Stop by here. This is a great location with unique items. Parking is terrible! The small lot always fills up quickly, so we end up parking on the street or around the corner at a nearby shopping center's lot.

It appears this is the main marketplace in Whistler, because it's like a small town, but it does sure feel like a tourist trap. After eating at Peaked Pie, we walked around this marketplace and visited some stores and even the lodge to use their washroom. I feel all the ladies who work here are really nice and friendly. The men aren't friendly at all. No greeting, no offer of assistance, no nothing. Kinda weird, but okay. In addition to the stores and eateries, there's also several parks, police and fire station, theatre, clinics, library, and museum, and etc. This kinda marketplace feels like those city building games where you put all the main buildings in close proximity to each other, add in a lodge, and lines of stores here and there. There are many local and outdoor clothing and sports gear stores here, and they are very expensive. Overall, it was interesting walking around here because it does feel like you're in a small town where everyone knows each other, and when tourists come along, they try to sell you their goods at top dollar.
